Thanks so much! Glen helped me figure out which Nintendo Power magazine the Millennium and DK controller ads were in! Also it was a stroke of luck that I found the Catalog for the NP100 controller on ebay! =] I'm glad you like the ice blue as well. I wonder who will get the next....? ;D
I still cry myself to sleep sometimes for not getting that lot on EBay which had the catalog ;_; :-/ -_-

awesome collection! i too love the wall mount idea. its a nice touch.

Which power magazines were the DK and Millenium 2000 Adds in? the pawnshop up the street has all those magazines for like 5 bucks each.

Thanks!!

Coorsy101
Not to take anything away Kami from her but originally it was my idea to track down the ads to frame them.... >_<

Coorsy, I personally found both of them inside issue #128. The Millennium 2000 is definitely inside #128. The DK64 promo is in several issues but not always in the same one... typically around the #126-130 range I think.

nice collection
do u have a original goldeneye Controller yet ?
I don't think there's such a thing as "an original Goldeneye controller" james82. There were bundled N64 sets with Goldeneye that had the system + controller, if that's what you're talking about. There are a couple of different versions.

Both the gray and gold controller are just the regular ones - it's not different or special really, they just happen to be bundled in the box.

BTW: it just occured to me that it's a great pity Nintendo never released a milky-white Clear / Clear edition.
Are you talking about a console with a clear top that's the same color mold as the clear white bottom half of the blue/clear & red/clear versions?

If so, that would indeed be very interesting to see. I guess the Jusco set comes closest with the clear black top and clear white bottom.

Clarky, there are several copies of Shadowgate for sale on the US EBay site... some as low as $8.99. I suppose the issue is that they aren't willing to ship to the UK...

But I am 8)

I've still yet to make up a load of the N64 mini boxes Ive been making to store my cart only games so there is still a lot of games missing from the shelves at the moment.
Your shelves look great Alex. How are those N64 game cases that i sent you working out for you? Have you used them all yet?

Recently received my big haul of items from Japan - items that have been purchased by me over the last 1 month. (No, you don't want to know how much :money: international shipping was for this whole package... it was RIDICULOUSLY expensive).

Notable rare items:
- 1 new/boxed clear blue controller
- 1 new/boxed Midnight blue controller
- 1 full new/boxed Jusco 30th anniversary set
- 1 full new/boxed clear blue set
- 1 unboxed Jusco controller (now I have 2 unboxed Jusco controllers, and 1 boxed)
- 1 unboxed GEOFFREY controller (now I have 2 GEOFFREY controllers)
.

Where'd you get that stuff? Super Potato? Retro Game Camp?
All of it came from Japan's Yahoo auction site. However there are basically 3 main catches that prevent most people from buying. 1.) Knowing where to look and how to search, which leads to... 2.) Speaking/reading some Japanese and finally... 3.) Knowing how to bid/use a proxy bidding service. I use Rinkya, as they are most responsive but they are definitely NOT the cheapest.

Thanks Mk, Grizz, Alice, and clarky ^_^

The worst part about collecting is that as you begin to round out and complete your collection, it starts getting dull as you stop finding items and it's hard to stay patient. Some people just move on to collecting other things (or just quit altogether, and sell everything as they are frustrated they can't find anymore or just lose interest... we've seen several younger folks do this in the past 6 months here on our forums). But I continue to stick with the items that I want to collect and when you find those missing items, it's quite rewarding. 8)

it's the first and will probably stay my only issue of Retro Gamer. after seeing this on finngamer's youtube channel i specially ordered it from england.
Same here, I also have that issue of Retro Gamer. I have talked to and thought about sending it to Janne (finngamer) to have him autograph it for me but the shipping costs are pretty high. I might still do that one day.

I also collect Nintendo Power magazines around the years that the N64 was introduced. I have roughly 50+ issues all in really good condition with nothing torn out of it (posters, inserts, special comics, cards, etc.) and they are individually bagged. I also have collected many (almost all) of the Nintendo Power subscriber's bonuses that feature a bunch of posters, stickers, calendars, etc. I was a huge fan of Nintendo Power back in the days and wished I took better care of all of my issues, players guides, and catalogs. But now I just have to slowly build that collection back up through EBay.

Having all complete titles is probably impossible even with unlimited funds so why bother? And then where to store all those boxes!
I highly doubt that is true. I'm willing to bet that it's a fairly easy task to complete a loose collection of all North American titles easy, especially if you have money. There is not too many loose games that are that rare, most can be found on EBay (unless you are talking about the Not For Resale cartridges, those are a bit different).

I'm willing to bet the situation is the same for European titles (PAL) versions of games. Hopefully MKII or Clarky can add some comments as to whether there are a few titles that are super rare to come by (loose, doesn't need to be complete in box).

Japanese titles are a lot harder to track down because 1.) We don't live there and there is no EBay Japan 2.) the Japanese auction websites are all in Japanese so it's very hard to know how to search for those titles.

I know several collectors who have complete collections of North American games, and Finngamer almost has an entire collection of ALL games (North American, Europe, and Japan) except for 1 or 2 games, and again it's due to the language barrier of him not speaking Japanese or living there.

Therefore your "impossible" even with "unlimited funds" comment is rather naive and inaccurate <_<

Ninty64... wow, I'm super impressed. Nice collection of sealed controllers there. Looks like you're missing just 2 of them (Watermelon and Gold). I actually have 2 sealed Gold controllers. I've been looking for the Watermelon one for years it seems like (but really it's only been about 6 months) and offering to pay an arm and leg to anyone who may have one because it's the last one missing from my collection.

Out of curiosity, where did you obtain your sealed controllers? If I'm not mistaken, you live in Europe somewhere... which makes those sealed controllers even harder to obtain as compared to those of us here in America because they were only released here.

Looks like there are a couple of us who are getting close to completing the sealed Funtastic color controllers... I know Lithium017 has a few but his are in pretty bad condition. All of mine are in pretty good to excellent condition - and by your picture, yours look to be in excellent condition as well.

I have a fantastic collection of 'still sealed' N64 items
I'm missing 2 sealed accessories: the rumble pack and the RF switch. Been looking for those for the last few months as well with no success. You have that full set?

Ninty64

And yes, that Watermelon one is quite elusive!
Oh boy... this is going to be a problem when that Watermelon finally surfaces on EBay. I hope between the 2 of us (and maybe also Lithium017) we don't end up jacking the price up to some insane amount in an attempt to outbid each other :-X

All I know is that if it shows up, I won't back down and will go after it like a mad person with unlimited budget...

how the hell did you had 5 blister pack sealed controllers in such a short time ? where the hell did that came from !
I think he probably had it for some time and got them over the last few years. The reason I'm guessing that is because they all look to be in good condition, which means that he acquired them some time ago. Most of the ones you see on EBay these days are in somewhat beat up condition and not perfect. Also he hasn't mentioned anything about them, but that's because some collectors don't share their secret stash of goods via pictures as much as others do.

The RF Modulater isn't hard to find.

There was one I remember recently for somewhere around 20 dollars as Buy It now I believe.
We're talking about the sealed in plastic RF modulators. Not the ones in boxes. :read: They are in the blister packs like the controllers. The boxed ones are all over on EBay for that price. There are no RF switches in blister packs right now (there is 1 listing, but the package has been opened).

My turn to add my 2 cents: I have barely made any additions to my collection within the past 2 months. Little things here and there (a few issues of Nintendo Power, some more NP catalogs) but really not much. But I'm still always on the look-out several times a day for the things that I need on EBay (US, UK, and Aus) as well as some of the Japanese auction pages.

Man, one of these days I'm going to take a world tour and visit everyone. There's actually a very good chance that in a few months when I visit Great Britain for the first time, I will stop by and pay clarky_n64 a visit. Him and I have helped each other out with different items throughout the past year and become pretty good friends. And now I have an offer for Holland!

Awesome items. I am very jealous of the Fire Australian Boxed Controller you obtained
Believe it or not, there were 2 of them for sale in the past 3 weeks. I won the first one that showed up via auction bidding... then there was another one that had a Buy It Now. However the seller would only ship to Australia, and I e-mailed them (because I have a friend in Australia that could receive it for me) so that they could change the listing in order for me to buy it - but before they could, someone used the Buy It Now option :(

However the seller later listed the Jungle Green, and that time they had changed the listing in time for me to use Buy It Now... and now I have a much better box for that color :yeah:

Oh and 1 more thing Lithium... my AUS boxed transfer pack has the cardboard insert inside along with the paperwork, I think yours was missing those things 8)
