My wishlist isn't that large, but i'm not big in collecting yet. I just want some games and controllers/etc that I don't have.

Z:OoT
Z:Majora's Mask
Super Mario 64

Any controller really, but if I want to be really wishful I would want the Nintendo Power Millennium controller(silver but all the buttons are black).

Another console, I would like to try modding one.

I would enjoy getting a rare console or controller, but I'm not particularly hunting for one.

I just need controllers to use for playing because I only have 2 .-. I have my original N64 that I got when I was a child and the games that I got with it. Sadly I don't think I have any of my boxes I think, maybe some manuals still.

You're way ahead of me too.

I'm not as much of a hard core collector yet, im still easing my way in. I'm sure you'll beat me to everything.

I can't really find local pawnshops and stuff. Am I looking in the wrong places, how did you guys look for places and such?
You've gotten some sweet stuff so far

Holy smokes MK you have a ton of stuff.

"plus i've got more than 10 standard consoles, lots of controllers and about 60 carts to trade..."

Are you only trading stuff, or accepting money?

Everyone has so much cool stuff!

MK, regarding your picture with your hanging controllers, how are they hanging exactly?
Does that/could that damage them? Seems like an extra strain on the wire (specifically the point at which it connects with the controllers) that isn't necessary/could potentially be harmful in the long run.

Maybe that's just me being paranoid, but that sort of thing has happened to other products with wires that I have had in the past and I am now very paranoid about it with everything.

I have a question.

My brother/other people have asked me why I got different consoles. Originally my brother thought I was just going to mod a normal one, so he doesn't understand why I got the other kinds so far.

What should i say? I just want to collect them or what? I feel like he would think I'm an idiot. What is the best way to go about this?

Just received a Blue Boxed Controller and a smoke controller today.

I washed the smoke controller (my first time washing one ever) because the owner or someone smoked so it smelt like cigarette or cigar smoke.
I find it funny because it was the smoke controller =p.

here is the video for the blue boxed and smoke controller.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8cpWIgT4fc

I will probably just post the videos instead of saying all the things I got. I actually have everything I have bought so far.

Also, regarding the blue controller, the person sent me another blue controller (not boxed) for free to replace the other one since it had those marks. Pretty awesome

I got the boxed rumble pack and war gods complete recently.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3s6e75Pbao - War Gods

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0LhAosBlZU - Rumble Pak

This leads me to a slightly off topic question.

I really need help as far as prices of boxed/complete games. I have no clue what kind of prices I should be looking for since some games are more expensive than others. People give the advice of "look at the prices on ebay" I don't really see how that helps though because a lot of the time they are overpriced/whatever. How do I know I have found...a good find/cheap price?

this is a helpful site : www.videogamepricecharts.com that tracks recent auctions and calculates an average price.
Those averages are a good starting point to determine the value of any cartridge.
You're a savior. Will definitely use that often.

I will keep in mind that it is a price guide though.

In other news, does anyone have N64 posters? I have seen them on ebay and actually got a couple.

yes, i have some. mostly from UK magazines but i've got a very nice big "official" Majora's Mask promo poster as well.

I bought it for 1 euro on Queen's Day, a national holiday when half the Dutch population puts their junk on the sidewalks to sell it to the other half and turn the country into one giant fleamarket !!! An amazing day for (game) collectors! i made some excellent finds in the past, like a box with 40 NES games for 40 euro.
We need a day like that around here.

Spring is coming soon so hopefully there will be lots of garage/yard sales from "spring cleaning" and I can nab some good stuff.

Nice collections, both of you :D
Thanks! BTW, I also have a few spare N64 consoles in my collection. Most I was given for free or purchased for next to nothing and then repaired.

@clarky: how did you do that?
Download these templates:

http://www.box.net/shared/pau7pke2e0

http://www.box.net/shared/zjb2sk4ot8

Open them in PhotoShop and print. Cut around the solid lines (not the dotted ones), fold into shape and glue the two parts together. :yeah:
Thanks clarky, this is really useful!

Awesome collection Heinrold.

I know this probably isn't the best place to ask, but i want some opinion and not have to make a whole new thread.

There's a console boxed that is at a pretty low price at the moment. However, it does not come with the styrofoam. Should I still try to get it or is it sort of dumb to get without the styrofoam?

I picked up Clay Fighter 63 1/3 recently (complete with box and manual)

as well as
F-Zero X N64 Box and Instructions
In The Zone '98 N64 Box Instruction
MLB Ken Griffey Jr N64 Box & Book

I have F zero x already so now that's complete. I figure that the sports titles I will come by in some cheap lot at some point. No need to try and buy them complete when I can probably get the cart for cheap sometime in the future.

Well being as some of my boxed games didnt have the cardboard inserts I figured I'd try and make my own:

I'm sure you can tell which one the original is.

What is the paper material you use for this? I tried doing it with regular paper (using the psds you made available) and they are obviously not sturdy, I just wanted to get it right first.

clarky_n64

I've recently also been making small boxes for my loose carts, which I think look pretty cool:

This scares me a bit. They look very realistic. Is there any noticeable way to tell the difference between those and real boxes?

If not, then that could turn into quite a scam if it got into the wrong hands.

Mk II

One of the things i picked up at the annual Queen Day market was a boxed Clear Blue console + matching controller and SM64 pack-in game.
Also included in the lot were Zelda OOT and DK64 with Memory Expansion Pak, both complete in box.
Everything is in excellent condition, the N64, controller and box are as new and have replaced those previously found in my collection!

But the best thing about this deal was the price... i only paid 5 euro (about 7.50$) for the whole lot.
That was what the lady asked... sweet! :yeah:

Amazing buy man. I wish I could find stuff like that.

Anyways, my personal collection has gotten quite a bit larger. I don't have pictures at the moment though. I have a few videos from a little while ago though.

You're right!! It is like magic!
Thanks :-)))
Wonderful collection.

I love all the hats too.

I have seen one of those hats on ebay (white hate with the blue rim part).
I have seen a lot of other N64 oddities on ebay as well. Walkie talkies, radios, cameras. An LED N64 symbol that was from a store or something, stuff like that.

I swear N64 has some of the weirdest stuff.

How did you manage to find all those hats though?

We're talking about the sealed in plastic RF modulators. Not the ones in boxes. :read: They are in the blister packs like the controllers. The boxed ones are all over on EBay for that price. There are no RF switches in blister packs right now (there is 1 listing, but the package has been opened).
I'm not a newbie nor an idiot, I know what you are talking about.

I saw one recently (or maybe not so recently anymore) on ebay. The whole summer is sort of a blur to me so it might not have been as recent as I think. But I've definitely seen at least 1.

So many questions!

Ninty how did you get those awesome posters? I usually search Nintendo 64 poster or n64 poster everyday and only ever get the ones from nintendo power magazines. Awesome finds.

Hein, I'm very curious about some of those boxed consoles. What is going on to the right of the star wars edition one? It's like half a box then turns into another one and then another!? I see one is the NA one and the other is PAL and then the next one is PAL, but why are the first NA and the last PAL half a box each?

there is a black cardboard casing (it is open on the left and the right and fits around the console boxes). and to make everything fit good on the photo, i put my second cardboard casing into the first one ;)
This is what was confusing me.

thanks for clearing that up.

I wish I had one of those mario cart boxes (with the controller of course)

The starcraft 64 and conkers boxes look a little faded in the first picture. Is that true or was it just lighting or something?

Still an awesome collection. I think I may have close to the same number of boxed games, but they aren't nearly as good of boxed games as yours.
(starfox 64, pokemon stadium, starcraft, conkers, aiyden cronicles, smash, etc.

Times like these, I wish the N64 could go online (and without the laggyness of Project 64's online).

I have quite a large experience of using Project 64 Online. My youtube channel quite a large number of ssb matches I've had.

You can definitely play and not have lag, but there is lag sometimes. Usually you want to play with someone you know so you know they have a good connection but obviously that doesn't always happen.

As far as that Arcade shark pad
I've seen those a number of times, and i'm always tempted but I haven't got one myself. I have a vague memory of a neighborhood kid having one of those type of controllers but i'm not sure if it was the same one.

Received a package from fellow forum member Cabanon today with lots of yummy Japanese goodies!

  • Japanese "Gold" console & controller set (CIB)
  • Eikou No Saint Andrews (CIB)
  • J-League Live 64 (CIB)
  • J-League Eleven Beat 1997 (CIB)
  • Virtual Pro Wrestling 64 (CIB)

Very Impressive, how much did that one cost ya? Also, why are the 3ds boxes so huge?

Amazing ddrnite as well.

I have a question, is there a way to include all auctions or something like that when searching ebay? Because I usually search Nintendo 64 and rifle through everything and those items should have been on there.

;-;

Just got a missing game variant in the mail. Won it on eBay for $8. :)

Posted Image

World Driver Championship - T-shirt pack. It's the same as the Rampage 2 I have, also by Midway. Rampage 2 is sealed throughout, while this World Driver Championship is opened, but luckily the shirt is still sealed. Notice they both have a sticker on top stating the edition.

I saw that finngamer, I didn't bid on it though because I figured it would get really expensive. I figured I probably wouldn't have won it anyways, so I'm glad it went to you.

I thought I'd share some of the more interesting pieces in my collection.

First up, a "Waiting for Nintendo Ultra 64" -T-shirt Nintendo made when the release of the N64 was still miles away but the competition was already in stores. They even took out magazine ads in the same vein back in the day, asking people to wait for the real deal. :)

And here are two unused tickets to the 1995 Space World / Shoshinkai. This event was the first time the N64 was playable to the public, and also the first time the 64DD was announced. I paid $20 for these tickets on eBay a few years ago, I have no idea if the are worth $1 or $100. :)

Very neat, I wish I could have some cool N64 history stuff like that.

OK, here in the correct thread.......
Very excited today. 3 new hats arrived from the US. A fantastic addition to my collection. I already have the purple and the orange funtastic hats, this red one is a great addition. I love the Star Wars Racer one and have never seen it before. The blue :n64: one is quite unique too so I am very pleased with my haul! lol

So you're the one that got all those hats?

I figured as much, I didn't win any of them. I tried for that other one as well (that it looks like someone else on here got).

;_; I never win anything
