Just interested to know what all of you do for work. What type of career path's that everyone is going down. Ill go first. I work for an organisation called Mental Illness Fellowship of Queensland. I basically work with people who suffer from a mental health issue in the community. Helping them to be able to live with their mental illness while still be able to work and live effectivley. |

Im in school right now for Video Game Art. My end goal is to be a 3D modeler. Creating environments for video games, and my dream would be to either work for nintendo making side scrolling platformers for new generations consoles (such as DK Country Returns, Sonic Generations, Kirby's Epic Yarn, or Rayman Origins), or start my own game production company creating old style games for the new systems. I want my games to have the feel of a SNES or N64 game, but have updated graphics and stuff. |

Right now I work at Domino's Pizza as an Insider. I'm a topper, cutter, boxer, cashier, and I'm also phone b***h (which is what they've been sticking me with lately. My favorite thing to do is make-a da pizza because I don't have to deal with the customers). I'm about eight months away from graduating college with a Bachelor's degree in Network Security. Hopefully by then I could obtain the CCNA and A+ certifications. |

I work at ACE hardware, and yes being the phone-man sucks big time. The people never really seem to know what they want, and they think you know everything about every product in the store, it's a nightmare my cholesterol levels become dangerously high when I'm stuck with back to back calls. lol. Rather do heavy lifting out back! Also working my way through college, we're going to make it through this together Alice.. ha. |

I prefer "Up-Front-C***", much funnier and really rolls off the tongue. Cut table/route drivers is the best if you know what you're doing. Then probably sauce/cheese, then slapping, then everything else, then phone/carryout. But driving is the only way to go at Domino's. Edited by StYoung, Feb 28 2012, 11:54 PM.

I know the feeling. I left a really great job at a pharmaceutical warehouse and ended up at Walmart. Only left the other job because I got married and she worked there as well. Unfortunately for us both, the place closed down less than a year after we were married. And now we're divorced. Doh.

Mainly been there forever because it is all I know and I didn't finish college. Plus, starting over somewhere else would put me in your position: less hours because they would more than likely take me off of full-time. And I know all about douchebag managers. |

if its been thrown out by someone then i say have at it. if its out in a parking lot or at someones curb by their house its fair game. where i live theres a homeless guy who bikes by and collects bottles from peoples recycling bins every week and its kinda weird but nothing illegal. |

I currently work at Sherwin Williams as a part timer. Worked with my dad for years before that as a,helper/painter so it kinda led to this. Been at it for almost 6 months now and ive been busting my ass to help turn the store around and already my manager is talking about getting me in the Ast Managers position when Dave (the current one) moves up. I feel pretty good about that :D. |

i live in canada so im not sure if i would be of any help to you. for us basically if its been thrown out and is on public property its fair game, and if its been thrown out and is on private property then you need permission. example being if theres a landfill bin or dumpster in a driveway then you need permission, but if its garbage cans or something similar to be collected by the city down by the road then its fair game. |

I'm a postie (postman). In Brisbane. We're probably neighbours! Regards picking stuff off the side of the road. In Australia, if it's out there for a hard rubbish pick up, it's technically illegal to pick anything up because it now belongs to the council. People still do it of course, as would I. Plenny of good CRT tellies still being left out. You have to be quick though, because the scrap metal scroungers soon knock the necks off the tubes to get the copper wiring from the cathode gun... |

Competent staff On a serious note, usually phones. Unfortunately in today's IT it doesn't just involve looking after servers/desktops and such but also analog, digital and IP phones aswell. Although I say this, I only ever deal with the software side of things and outsource the cabling. The only advice I can offer you is go for a job where the IT is proactive otherwise you're get bored very quickly. IT support is very mundane after a while. |

I've been in the Navy for 5 years. Went through Basic Training, A school and Dental Tech school in Great Lakes, IL. Jan, 2008 was stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii for 3 years . In Jan, 2011 was stationed here in San Diego, California where I will be until 2014.Before joining the Navy, I was pretty much a retail guy with a little bit of construction work with pre-fabricated concrete (grueling labor and insane hours!) I plan on staying in the Navy as long as I can, but even the military isn't exempt from a hard economy. It's difficult to stay in because all branches are trimming down personnel.
