Collection Donations?

Have you ever had someone donate something to your collection?

I have given things to my friends who started collecting video games when they started out to help them, but I never really expected to receive a donation myself, especially this late in my collecting. I can't express how grateful I am that someone would take their own time, effort, and money to donate something to me, purely because they enjoy my youtube videos and want to help support me.

Someone contacted me through my collection website and asked if there were any specific games I was looking for, and I basically said anything thats not on my lists already. They said they had a couple N64 games I didn't have listed and asked if I would be interested in them. These games were Pokemon Puzzle League Challenge and Duck Dodgers. I replied and asked if they had boxes or were games only, and how much they wanted for them. They replied saying they both have boxes, but no manuals, and they just wanted to donate them to me. I replied by saying thank you so much, but wanted to offer something and we came to the agreement that if I happen to find any Dreamcast games, to keep them in mind, which I will definitely be doing.

I just wanted to share this because I am so thankful that someone thinks enough of me and my game collecting to donate to me, and I was also curious if any of you have experienced anything like this, and if you have, please post below with your story.

N64 collection completed 7/29/12
I've had a ton of people donate games to me in the past. In total I'd say maybe 30 N64 games, close to 10 Xbox 360 games, one Xbox and one PS2 game, a PSX game, a SNES game, several controllers, and I've even had a friend of mine give me a PAL 360 and a PAL PS3 with about 13 games. It's always nice when people look at their stuff and think, "I know someone who would appreciate this and get more use out of it than I am right now."

Ive had a bunch of N64 carts donated to me by fellow forum member blakesleven just before Xmas last year... how awesome is that?

BTW: it is my experience with other collections that it can be really worthwhile to let everyone know what you are into.
Spread the word and you will be rewarded!

I'm not a fan of donations because I don't mind paying for what I need. Ironically enough, I recently found a guy from the UK willing to donate a Goldeneye 007 display to me for free. I was blown away from the kind gesture as I thought it would set me back at least $50-$100. He refused to even accept the cost of shipping from me. All he did was ask to see a picture of my collection to know that I'm a serious collector, and an after picture when I hang it up :)

I've had lots of donations from YouTube viewers.

Maybe the best ones were CIB copies of Mega Man Zero 1 and 3, the guy saw my Wanted list and wanted to help out. Or maybe a package that had lots of various games, Like Rayman 2 Dreamcast, Resident Evil Saturn, some candy, etc. :) TVandLust sent me an MGS Peace Walker Limited Edition, but we've both sent each other some pretty good stuff, so it's a bit different. :)
