There is one PAL game that always gets over looked, and that's Ken Griffey Jr Major League Baseball. You occasionally find the cart on ebay.com.au, but getting it boxed with instructions is really, really hard!

I'm currently 28 games away from a full PAL set, and I'm quite prepared not to ever find one :(
You're very correct jon55mcc, that is a very hard CIB PAL game to get, I've only got a cart only copy myself. I won it on ebay for about £3 a year ago or so and the seller only live down the road from me. Now that's just sheer luck considering it's a AUS exclusive.

Something lucky as hell just happened! Stevex found 2 copies of it CIB on ebay.com.au, so I've bought them both!

I don't care if I have to eat beans and porridge for the next 3 months! :yeah:

There's still a CIB Starcraft 64 to be found, now that will be a money drainer for sure

There seems to be a drought at the moment on this game (major league), but it did pop up on ebay fairly regularly at least last year. Maybe it's rarity is more well known now so they are snapped up quicker :/

I didn't save that Nushi Tsuri listing - but there was another one that went for less from Japan. I don't have the evidence but lie not!

These are the games that i don't have complete and as i am mostly buying on ebay, it represents the rarity around here to a certain degree.

Ready 2 Rumble Boxing
Penny Racers
Rocket Robot On Wheels
Chameleon Twist 2
Gex 3 - Deep Cover Gecko
Hot Wheels Turbo Racing
Hydro Thunder
Monster Truck Madness 64
Mystical Ninja 2 Starring Goemon
All-Star Baseball 2000
Bio F.R.E.A.K.S.

Paperboy
Power Rangers: Lightspeed Rescue
Rampage 2: Universal Tour
Rush 2: Extreme Racing USA
San Francisco Rush 2049
(Snowboard Kids 2)
(StarCraft 64)

I'd bet that one of the fat-written games will be the last one missing for me.
At the moment, i would say that SF Rush 2949 is the game that i haven't seen in auction for the longest time and declare it to be the rarest for me.
Other rare games may of course be missing in that list while some of them aren't rare at all and it is just bad luck they are written above ;)
:n64: = :)
Always many PAL games for sale:

I agree about SF 2049. I've seen it sell for £30 twice in the past year, and there was a BIN in Germany recently for about $60.

I'm expecting my last ones to be -

Hercules
Blues Brothers 2000
SF 2049

or Supercross 2000 in English
or Shadowgate 64 in English

I'm also desperate to get a Starcraft 64 PAL box, but I think in the end it will be cash that decides that, and not effort of trying. :phear:
By the way Heinroid, you seem to have 27 left to get, which is where I'm at too! How many PAL games are you after in total?

I do realise RTL WLS 2000 is the same as Michael Owen Soccer, and that Coupe du Monde is the same as World Cup 98, HSV and Beetle Adventure, and the slightly confusing Racing Simulation 2 triangular quandary.

This includes all European exclusives and Australia exclusives.

I've got it all on a geek-tastic spreadsheet if anyone fancies a copy. :n64:

Your list is like mine plus

HSV Adventure Racing AUS
Michael Owen's World League Soccer
Racing Simulation: Monaco Grand Prix
Telefoot 2000 GER (which isn't german but french... on the other hand RTL World League Soccer is german)
Coupe du Monde 98 - FR

which are in my eyes only other versions of games.

If you're after different versions, you can add
Box Champions 2000
which is the german version of knock out kings 2000.

The actual list of PAL releases is 242 games, but I can understand, from my collector's view point, wanting to also own regional variations of some games (HSV Adventure Racing! Yannick Noah... etc).

However I'm confused why you would want Coupe Du Monde 98. It's the exact same UKV cart you get with World Cup 98 the only difference is that it comes with a french manual and has a different title. Unlike the WLS 2000 variations which at least have different box artworks. So where exactly do you draw the line on what qualifys as a significant variation?

By the same logic 007: The World Is Not Enough has different titles in both France and Germany, does that mean you're goning to own 3 copies of the same game just because they have different titles?

And then if you get those how is it any different from the german release of Super Mario 64? The game is exactly the same, but the back of the box has german text and the manual is german lol. It's a bit of a crazy route, you could end up owning a full PAL collection 3 or 4 times over X_D

That said if you want to know more I have my own geek-tastic list of title variations so would love a copy of your spreadsheet for comparison and I'll happily help you identify what games to add once you let me know the specific requirements of your collection :yeah:

I also few a queries about your original list:

F1 Racing Championship was indeed released in Europe and that's the only version I am aware of, I have never seen an AUS copy so if you have any proof of one exisitng I'd love to see that too.

You've put 'Jeremy McGrath or Supercross 2000 EUR' not sure what you meant by this, but just to clarify Jeremy McGrath Supercross 2000 is a game by Acclaim and is different to that of Supercross 2000, which is by EA.

@danilochka Yeah i know what you mean, im not going to collect all the variations, just a few.

I do have a couple of others not sure if everyone knows or care about but here we go :)

Yoshi's Story came out in the UK and EUR with a pink Yoshi on the cart, and in AUS it came out with a green yoshi, here are my two cart,

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Also Carmageddon 64 has two different copies, cart code, NUS-NCDY-EUR has zombies in it you can run down, and cart code, NUS-NCDX-EUU has dinosaurs instead, i think it was a censored version for the UK so you didnt drive around running over human like caractors. :D

They have strict laws there, Wolfenstein 3D for instance still cant be legally sold there because of the Nazi symbols.

Since I'm a huge Tony Hawk's fanatic, I plan on getting the PAL version of Pro Skater 1 & 2 since the cover says Tony Hawk's Skateboarding, and the second one is grey instead of yellow. Since I'm collecting Tony Hawk games on the side, I see this as worth a purchase for the different labels alone. For an N64 fanatic, this difference works the same way, but on a lesser level because of the high quantity of N64 games compared to Tony Hawk games. If we were talking about more than just label differences, I thihk it should be its own entity.

I agree in theory, but where does that leave you on Michael Owen's Soccer (PAL's answer to NTSC's Mia Hamm) being a PAL exclusive?

why we all show some PAL variation, release and all. why dont we dont build a full PAL/NTSC database will all cart/manual/box variatons that can posibly exist. i mean, when i come across a forum dedicated to a specific console, i search for a database that could lead me to the full catalogue. yes, there,s several places to check that, but the amount of knowlegde around here is insane, especially in the PAL land since we forget them.

does the site could support something like that ?

I would personally consider it like collection different versions of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Michael Owen and Mia Hamm to me are like collecting a grey copy and a gold copy of Zelda. Collecting the blue and grey copies of TWINE is like collecting the original and unedited versions of the grey copies of Zelda.

Try not to look at that as Zelda being a different colored cart, but instead as a standard edition and a collector's edition. That's where the appeal to get both versions would come into play, whilst the second example concerning grey and colored carts are just saying that they are identical with the exception of some minor aesthetic differences, and not necessary to collect both to consider your collection complete.

@jon55mcc

I'd like to get all the options available to collect. I think, to make it simple, I will not be collecting different games just because there are different languages on the back of the box. The front however is what I'll be looking at. So, Box Champions 2000, Yannick Noah, Coupe du Monde, HSV etc

I think I might be tempted to go so far as getting the different football box fronts too. I know that the game will be the same, but some of them had different players on depending on the country.

Great tip about the Australian Yoshi! I'll be looking for one of those. The Oz released games do look great so I might pick up some of those later on.

So target at the moment is 249/250 plus whatever else I decide on as I go.

224 down! The hard work is already done! :n64: :yeah:

For these games, I really should've put a question mark at the end.

At the time of typing them I thought maybe the F1 Racing Championship game was only Ozzie. I also seem to remember a false Wikipedia page a few years back that confused the two Supercross 2000 games.

I know the difference now :)

Believe it or not, Supercross 2000 (EA) is actually quite hard to get CIB. I've only ever seen one copy in a couple of years and maybe 2 carts or so which I own 1 of.

Everyone is forgetting one extremely rare PAL variation, Shadowgate 64 with english text.
