I think some of you guys might find this interesting, and might be interested in coming up with your own prices.

I have wanted to do this for a long time, but really want to keep the value/cost of my collection private, and I have only started, so I decided to share the cost/price of only one collection with you guys. This is in no way bragging or anything like that, its just the fun of sharing a rarely discussed aspect of my collection with some cool duders.

I added up the cost of my Original Xbox collection. This figure is purely based on current Ebay BIN prices. Meaning if you wanted to get my same exact collection of Original Xbox stuff, this is what you would have to pay today if you did all buy it nows. Keep in mind that I only took the very cheapest price for everything, meaning that the price is basically for disc only games, platinum hits, and scratched discs in most cases. The cheapest BIN for a game is usually a beat up disc only platinum hits copy, so thats what you would expect when taking the very cheapest BINs for games. Bottom line is that to get all the games in complete black label condition would be a lot more expensive, but enough yapping, here it is.

Game Count: 145

The total price of these today at the lowest Ebay BIN prices is $975.00

This makes me rethink the value of my collection as a whole, because I would never assume that my xbox collection would be anywhere near this. I was thinking 145 games at an average of $3 or $4, which is way less. And it might even be way less than this price, but if you were to buy all these games off Ebay right now, thats about what you would expect to pay.

Im interested in seeing if anyone else would be interested in doing this same sort of thing, just for fun or knowledge.

i had close to 200 xbox games for sale less than 8 months ago, all of them were sold for less than a buck and it took more than 6 months to finally sell everything. so i have trouble with the 975$ price tag you're putting.

still, it's probably a good collection as i'm not into Microsoft stuff at all (personal choice). maybe in 20-24 years, xbox stuff will be hot seller.

Im not putting the price, its just what you would have to pay if you went to Ebay right now and bought everything individually at buy it now prices, I really dont think its worth that much

I thought about doing this for about 10 seconds, but then when I read your quote I realized I wouldn't be able to. I have about 3-5 items that doesn't have a price on it because no one else has it, and they're the ones that would be worth the most.

I'll just kindly and quietly observe what others post on this thread ^_^

What's the fun in pricing out your stuff if you know it's not worth the price you put? Am I missing something here?

Seems like a bunch of non-value added work.

Its just fun for me to see or think what someone would have to do in order to acquire my entire xbox collection today, if they went through Ebay BINs only.

exactly. Just about every xbox game I have, I paid $2 for. I didn't start collecting them until I started going to this pawn shop, so in total, I have spent about $300, and they are obviously worth more than that, but looking up these Ebay prices is just for fun. It not only shows what others would have to pay (as I've said a bunch of times now), but it also shows how much I saved by NOT buying them off Ebay.

If you are only at 40 games, you should take that opportunity to price everything out now, so when you get a new game, just add that price in, then once you have a TON of games, you will already know a basic idea of the value. I didnt do this, and now it will take me forever to price out over 1000 games. I also wish I kept track of how much I spent on everything...

I figured I'd revive this topic since I did a major amount of accounting work today. I was backlogged and hadn't updated my Excel spreadsheet since late November of last year. I've finally caught up, and here's some interesting numbers for you all:

1.) My spreadsheet/database dates back to May of 2010, near when I first started collecting
2.) It includes 99% of everything I've bought/sold (there might be 1 or 2 small transactions that have slipped through the cracks)

- I've spent a total of $11,767.44 (this entails all N64 items and also my Nintendo Power related items)
- Of that total amount, $4,257.63 were imports from Japan
- I've resold a total of $5,295.15 - which means I've resold (recovered) 45% of my spendings
- Amount I've spent on my current N64 collection net worth: $5,140.06 (all items subtracting the stuff I've sold and taking out the Nintendo Power magazine items)

Now, keep in mind that the net worth DOES NOT equal net value. Just because I paid a certain amount (i.e. Millennium 2000 controller) doesn't mean it's that value - most likely they are higher. In other words, there's still no way to judge how much my collection is worth right now... I just know how much I've paid for it.
