Hey, I've seen in a locked topic post somethings about goo gone being BEST thing to get stickers or labels off your game boxes, I made an open topic post about ti considering i wasn't approved to reply to the old one cuz of it being locked. Does this work well on cartridges as well? If so i'm goin' buy me some goo gone & remove some stickers from my N64 game cartridges. Wut do any of you suggest i use to clean my carttridge itself without damaging it? Not inside the cartridge jus the outter of it. & wut should i use on my Q-Tip to clean the contacts with without damaging the game? Thanks, -Witeout |

I wouldn't suggest using it on boxes, it works on cartridges though. I would say rubbing alchohol is good too |

I would stay away from using Goo Gone on the actual contacts of the game. I'd stick to light rubbing alcohol or other stuff that's not as chemically reactive like Goo Gone. I've used it on numerous boxes, none with any permanent damage or bad effects. Initially it might look like it leaves a wet stain on the box, but after a couple days and it fully dries - it looks fine with no remains. |

bio-ethanol (just another form of alcohol really) is very cheap, i get a 1L bottle for about 2$. Works like a dream for cleaning contacts and cartridges. It is very effective for removing permanent marker ink, sticker and glue residue from the cartridge as well. WARNING: do NOT use it to clean the label, it will quite literally eat away all the ink. |

Yes yes... be very careful on labels. Earlier when I said I used it to clean boxes, it was on GLOSSY boxes with a shiny finish. Nothing that has direct ink printed on it. |

I've used Goo Gone on boxes that literally had packing taped wrapped around the entire box and it worked great. It took about 8 hours but it worked great. |

Awesome tips guys! I'm deff goin' with wut MK said, Sounds more efficient. Although goo gone might work but i'd like to go with the light rubbing alcohol. As for cleaning labels on the games, I don't buy any games with writing, damage, etc. to the labels cuz i'm not gonna spend my time cleaning the labels or even ruining them by trying to clean them, So i jus buy cartridges with clean labels to avoid having to clean them. I've jus purchased Stunt Racer 64 for 20$ & I'm about to purchase Worms Armageddon for 40$ Bad idea? or....??? |
