Contrary to what the reviews say I thought it was really good! I'm a US Military buff and actually want to get my BA in Military history so I know whats wrong and not. With that being said its a freakin movie unlike what some people think is supposed to be real life??? All in all I will just say (so as not to spoil it for anyone else) that it was so good that I will be buying it on Blu-Ray when it comes out .Anyone else seen it? |

It was ok, mediocre I think. Personally I can't stand this new mass CGI wave sparked by James Cameron, George Lucas, and Michael Bay. As far as artistic vision they've reached their end, creating generic adventures purely for mass monetary gain. Drawn out sequences of just mashed explosions and metal colliding with superimposed actors doing unrealistic reactions. I don't hate CGI, love it when there is just an emotionally engaging story and balanced ratio of special effects to physical props. Like:... Avengers / Lord of the Rings / 300. Battleship won't be remembered in 10 years, it's merely fast food viewing, there's no substance. For me there's no tension with movies like this, CGI so overused and one-sided my brain realizes it's fake and I tune out of the plot, and end up staring at explosions blatantly like I'm playing some arcade shooter on the PS3. Yeah I guess I'm "hating" on this movie way too much, but it's contributing to the myth that a summer movie in 2050 is just gonna be 90 minutes of sh*t blowing up! And since these make hundreds of MILLLLLLLIONS there's no reason to stop. Now studios are gonna produce movies off of more board games like Monopoly, Life, and CandyLand... oh god no!
