G'Day, since im in the look out for one of these controllers i thought i'd tri and get some info from people that have them.

In my search i have noticed an anomaly between these controllers. the actual power 100 black & gold bar is this a sticker? plastic tab? or what is this and how is it attached to the controller?

As i have noticed that this particular piece sits in different spots on different owners controllers? some sit directly ontop of the Nintendo imprinted logo that runs parallel and others sit 2-3mm above this line and some even higher like half way from logo to controller top edge?

the most common spot i have seen is the 2-3mm above the nintendo logo.

could this piece just be replicated or removed and placed onto another gold controller in perfect condition? is there any markings besides this power 100 logo that prove the controller is originally 1 of these?

its more of a plastic piece, definitely not a sticker. I havent opened my controller up to look at the inside behind it, so Im not sure how it attaches, but Im pretty sure you cant remove it and put it on a different gold controller, or everyone would probably have a mint one ;)

It is a plastic sticker that is slightly raised so you get a 3-d feeling.

It is stuck on the controller with some type of industrial strength adhesive on the back of the sticker. It is near impossible to remove - not that I have tried, but according to some other members who have tried it, it is near impossible to remove the sticker with damaging it.

Because it is just a sticker, I would imagine that the controllers were "made" by taking a regular gold controller and then they hand placed the stickers on the controller. This means that, as you have correctly seen, they will be in slightly different spots near the top of the controller above the imprinted (Nintendo). That is why they have different locations, and sometimes they are even stuck on the controller in a slight angle and looks crooked.

No. The rest of the controller is exactly the same as any gold controller. There is no serial number, or any other identify-able thing for us to verify that it is an original. However like I mentioned above, it is near impossible to remove the sticker from a controller without damaging it.
