Annual Club Nintendo Year N64 Gaming Challenge! To celebrate our forum, we discussed ideas in the 1000 Members discussion thread. Several of us thought it would be a good idea to follow nintenod Age's idea of trying to beat as many games as possible in 1 year - but let's put our own spin on it and do it in 1 Club Nintendo year. The goal will be to complete as many games as possible before midnight on June 30th, 2013. We can include any games already completed this Club Nintendo year by members, just take a screenshot / post it. Rules: 1.Only 1 Game can be 'Claimed' per person at a time - multiple people are free to beat the same game if desired but first person to claim it, gets it (please check previous posts to make sure the game is not already claimed after an update post from me) 2.Difficulty level does not matter 3.Sports games are to be beaten via a championship, or state what you completed 4.Some games have no actual ending so state what you challenged yourself to do to "complete" the game 5.Beating the final boss (if there is one) is mandatory - 100% completion is not required, but welcomed 6.After you beat the game, take a screen shot of the ending credits (this needs to be the actual end credits and not taken via the home menu option to go to the credits) 7.Post the picture and try to include how long it took you to beat the game (actual duration in approximate hours, as well as length of time Ex. 2 weeks, a month, etc.), what you completed (final boss, 100% etc), and your personal enjoyment level 8.I will update the list of completed games alphabetically once a week or so via a comment, and games that are completed will be shown in a different color NEW!! Achievement Levels: E3 Gold Level: 15 or more games completed--Highlander(34), Majora's Mask(22) NP100 Gold Level: 10-14 game completed: --Heinrold(13), bluedogrulez(12) T.R.U. I 100% beat TWINE. I was planning to beat it during "now" (during my Spring Break), but I found time (...or procrastinated doing more important things...) to play it a few weeks ago. Once I started, I did not want to stop, especially after realizing how much easier the game is than I remembered. But don't misunderstand me; there were some hard time challenges that required multiple attempts from me. I forgot to keep a detailed record of my time, and it was long enough ago for me to forget the exact number of hours, but I am fairly certain that no more than 12 hours of playtime were required for 100% completion (I only played for a few days, and I don't think I spent more than 3 hours on any day). By 100%, I mean all difficulty levels and all time challenges; everything should be unlocked now. I did not have the camera ready when I beat it weeks ago, so I recently replayed the last level to photograph the ending sequence. "Strategy" (If you want to call it that): Beat each level plus any time challenges in the order presented on each difficulty. That's the only way I knew I would not forget to do any. It also allows you to attempt a level's time challenge while it is still "fresh" in your memory. Pro-tip of the day: To beat the skiing level (Cold Reception) time challenge on the highest difficulty, you must TAP the Up-C button approximately four times per second. I had forgotten about this and had to relearn it the hard way (multiple attempts resulting in my confusion and my wondering "How can I possibly go faster? I never pressed the Down-C button?!?!?!?"). Again, never simply hit that button or hold it for a few seconds and then let go (and I don't think holding it down works either), as your speed will be reset to the default speed when certain events occur......or......something else happens......thus necessitating the button to be pushed again. I still am not certain what causes this. (Ignore the dates in these pictures -- the camera was not set correctly.) Bond has a merry Christmas in Turkey: Spoiler: click to toggle In this picture, I reach a height not possible with any other character in the Sky Rail multiplayer level by using the black London policeman: Spoiler: click to toggle Here, I demonstrate the same character's ability to walk through "walls"/graphics: Spoiler: click to toggle Here, I use the character to stand "under" (inside) a snow ramp and look up at an AI opponent who can't shoot at me: Spoiler: click to toggle Edited by Agent of Ligar, Mar 20 2013, 01:38 PM.

I'm not done with "Bomberman 64: The Second Attack" by any means (will go back to that asap), but I have just beaten "Starshot: Space Circus Fever" and would like to add this game to the completed list, if it's ok? It took around 12 hours to beat. Maybe not the best game I have played, but pretty ok. This could have been so much better though, with a few improvements on the game camera, platforming playability, smoothness of controls etc. Well, I never thought I'd see the day when I'd actually beaten this game, so here it is, Starshot: Space Circus Fever: Spoiler: click to toggle Edited by Majora's Mask, Mar 24 2013, 08:56 AM.

Bomberman 64: The Second Attack, is beaten! A totally ok sequel to Bomberman 64. Some nice references back to the prequel was included, which I enjoyed. A lot more intense battles and a lot less terrifying "bomb jumps", compared to its predecessor. Terrifying "ice walking" was featured in this game though. Really difficult stuff (...final world...). Also, much harder final world and final boss(es) in this sequel too. A really good game! No timer in this sequel, but it took around 15 hours to beat, I think. Spoiler: click to toggle I would like to claim Duke Nukem 64, for my next challenge. Actually had another game in mind but for some reason it hasn't arrived yet. It was noted on eBay as "sent" almost a month ago...but hopefully the game(s) will arrive soon, and I can manage to beat Duke Nukem 64 in the meantime. |

I would like to change from V-Rally to Top Gear Overdrive because V-Rally simply sucks. I can't handle the rally cars and it is already too hard for me even on easy mode... I thought not to be bad at racing games (totally completed F-Zero X, Diddy Kong Racing. well maybe it is the game )

Duke Nukem 64 has been beaten! It took about 8 hours. Quite smooth gameplay I must say. I'm not too big on 1st person shooters on "video game platforms", Unreal on PC (and later UT) was my first 1st person shooter gaming experience, so I kinda can't help comparing to that, even though it's like apples and oranges... Well, Turok 2 was the first game I played (as well as beat) on my N64 and I remember the movement and controls being very stiff and that it felt like Turok was wearing a super heavy lead suit. Duke Nukem is not like that at all, it's fast and smooth and that was a nice surprise to me! Anyway, end credits: Spoiler: click to toggle I would like to claim Blues Brothers 2000, for my next challenge! |

Well, I don't know if this will count for this but I have just beaten my first Japanese game: "Doraemon: Nobita to Mittsu no Seireiseki". I have been playing it a little now and then over a few weeks but it can't have taken more than a total of 8 hours of actual gaming to complete. A pretty good game, very easy, but the final boss was definitely significantly more difficult than anything else in the game. Spoiler: click to toggle Will move on with Blues Brothers 2000... |

Blues Brothers 2000 is beaten! Didn't take long, maybe 5 hours. It has that distinctive Titus style and interesting mini games which consists of dance offs (or clapping hands/mashing buttons). Well, fortunately I snapped some shots during the end scenes because there are no credits running after beating this game. Spoiler: click to toggle Oh, and I would like to claim Nightmare Creatures, for my next challenge. (Yet another game that I've never played before, so I hope I won't regret this choice) Edited by Majora's Mask, Apr 6 2013, 12:37 PM.

Nightmare Creatures is beaten! A pretty ok, very straightforward, full on action game. The controls are a little uneven/unresponsive or unpredictable and sometimes that can get you into trouble, but it's still totally playable. The final boss was hard as hell cause I had no extra lives left and had missed 2 important weapon upgrades, which made it extra difficult. So, the final boss took a little extra time to beat, which significantly added to a total time it took to finish this rather short game - but I'd say maybe a total of 7 hours to beat the game. Spoiler: click to toggle I would like to claim Gex3: Deep Cover Gecko, next! |

Choro Q 64 2 (Penny Racers 2) has been conquered! I battled Japanese menus, a "save" to pak issue (solved by Floorcat), but otherwise plowed through this one in hmm, 20 hrs maybe to beat levels C-B-A-AA. Should have taken about 3, lol. Great little racer with improved graphic and controls over PR1. Not nearly as challenging though on the course. Esp with Race car Q29--all chrome unlockable racer and the rocket booster (fun!!). AA Victory Stand Credits My Ride For me, completion #10 (NP100 Level). For the Game-Off, #116 is in the books ... we have surpassed NintendoAge's N64 total in 2012. Great job guys! |

Congrats, BLUEDOG!! ![]() I might have to put PR1/2 in an upcoming Game-Off... sounds like you've really enjoyed them! Anyways, I made some good progress on Winback this weekend... I was stuck for a while on the 3rd level wrestling the (camera) controls and the unforgiving checkpoint-system... but now I think I'm safely in the groove of things, and am probably at least 30-40% through the game. Booted up the PS2 port of Winback, and HOLY MOLY have things been improved!! graphics & controls upgrades all-around... and voice-over work everywhere!! Probably should've abstained from checking it out until after finishing the N64 version...
