Annual Club Nintendo Year N64 Gaming Challenge!

To celebrate our forum, we discussed ideas in the 1000 Members discussion thread. Several of us thought it would be a good idea to follow nintenod Age's idea of trying to beat as many games as possible in 1 year - but let's put our own spin on it and do it in 1 Club Nintendo year. The goal will be to complete as many games as possible before midnight on June 30th, 2013. We can include any games already completed this Club Nintendo year by members, just take a screenshot / post it.

Rules:

1.Only 1 Game can be 'Claimed' per person at a time - multiple people are free to beat the same game if desired but first person to claim it, gets it (please check previous posts to make sure the game is not already claimed after an update post from me)
2.Difficulty level does not matter
3.Sports games are to be beaten via a championship, or state what you completed
4.Some games have no actual ending so state what you challenged yourself to do to "complete" the game
5.Beating the final boss (if there is one) is mandatory - 100% completion is not required, but welcomed
6.After you beat the game, take a screen shot of the ending credits (this needs to be the actual end credits and not taken via the home menu option to go to the credits)
7.Post the picture and try to include how long it took you to beat the game (actual duration in approximate hours, as well as length of time Ex. 2 weeks, a month, etc.), what you completed (final boss, 100% etc), and your personal enjoyment level
8.I will update the list of completed games alphabetically once a week or so via a comment, and games that are completed will be shown in a different color

NEW!! Achievement Levels:
:n64: E3 Gold Level: 15 or more games completed
--Highlander(34), Majora's Mask(22)

Rugrats in Paris: The Movie, is beaten!

Not much I can say about this game. It definitely has a resemblance of a Titus game, but
then, it goes beyond that. I have never experienced anything like it.

It took about 3-4 hours to beat.

Spoiler: click to toggle

I want to claim Daikatana, next :yeah:

Daikatana is beaten!

Better game than I'd expected actually, but pretty short and easy.
A lot of storytelling/cutscenes.

The weakest point (imo) is the graphics, they were really dull and below N64 standards.
+ the interface for loading games, options etc was really confusing for me.

It took about 5 hours to beat.

Spoiler: click to toggle

I would like to claim Hexen, next :yeah:

I would like to claim Namco Museum . . . and tell you how I plan to beat it.

As you surely know, this is a cart with 4 arcade games none of which have any endings that I am aware of. In such instances, other game-offs count the game as beaten when the default score is exceed. In this case, I would consider Namco Museum beaten when the default scores of all four games have been beaten. This is not a real heavy lift, but probably requires 1.5 hours of game play (Dig-Dug is my weakest of the 4). That sound OK?

I stand corrected...Toad is right, 6 games.

Floorcat, i can't believe how long Winback is! I had to laugh when i looked at gamefaq. The walkthroughs end at stage 22; you were at level 26 at that point !
You know, the longest time to completion so far is 40 hours, which is heroic in my mind. You think you'll surpass it?

Heh... it could be close!!
And yes... I was a little disheartened to see that GameFAQs only FAQs on the game don't provide anything beyond the first two-thirds (?) of the game.

I THINK there's 30 or 31 levels... and I'm on 28 now. The boss fights are pretty tough (even just on "Normal") and the levels have pretty much devolved into mazes... things would be SOOOOOOO MUCH easier/nicer if I had a map!!

I just found a FAQ that appears to cover all 31 levels. maybe you've see this. Maybe you don't want to. The link is therefore spoiler protected (and you'll have to beat the code out of me ...or just click on it X_D ) :

Wow, I feel like an idiot. I am claiming NHL breakaway '98, not '99. I'm really sorry if I cause a problem. Also I have to buy a controller pak. just wondering, but does anyone have a extra controller pak they're 10 dollars at the local game store.

Gotcha, not a problem.

You can probably get a few 3rd party controller paks on ebay for that price. But I'd recommend looking for a 3 pak lot of the originals . . . you might be able to score them for about $5 each that way and they will eventually get used I'm sure.

My ignorance of Namco Museum 64 is a bit :-8 . First, I said there were only 4 (instead of 6 games). Then I got to playing and beat the Default scores in:

Pole Position

Dig Dug

Galaga

But I assumed the rest had default scores but NOOOO, not Galaxian, Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man. So, if anyone has any ideas on what would constitute beating Namco, I'm all ears. But know in advance I'm not taking a run at 256 levels of Pac Man  .

Hexen is beaten!

Good game, I enjoyed it!
Pretty old school and felt like a curious mix of Marathon Infinity and Doom.
Cool music in the game too, which was appreciated.

It took about 12 hours to beat.

Spoiler: click to toggle

I would like to claim Shadow Man next :yeah:

For some reason, I'm very apprehensive of this game and
think the only way for me to play it to any extent would be
to take it on in this Game Off.
From what I've played of Shadow Man, testing it out, this is probably going to take quite a while ...

Perhaps 10,000, the amount of points needed to get an extra life, would suffice for Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man.

Highlander, I'm running out of superlatives for your abilities! Congrats on W number 33!

RE: Namco Museum 64. I think that reaching 10,000 in Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man is a bit too easy (and doesn't get one through enough of the game to count). I'm thinking that one should get through all of the fruit (7 fruits in each game) for "completion". I hope I'm up to the task, but haven't made it anyone close to that so far . . . .

Collector of everything.
I've gotten incredibly distracted by Wii and GC games lately, but I'm ready to return to my roots. Since my name is still attached to Glover (Ha, just realized there's an inside joke there, too personal for a public audience though, sorry), I'm going to start playing it again (and finish it of course).

I recently started to systematically go through my N64 games and finish them, but I've often resorted to using a gameshark, so it doesn't really count. Although it has helped me figure out which games I want to legitimately play through and which games are less of a priority. I've almost played through all of my racing games and I'm deciding what to do next. (Obviously I'm not going to cheat for game-off purposes, though)

And congratulations to all of you who have finished a game in my absence. The list is much longer than I remember it to be. Keep it up!
Current N64 focus: NTSC-U carts. Current count: 108/296 (36.5%), 4 NTSC-J.

Shadow Man is beaten!

This was a good game, I was happily surprised!
But with a few tweaks to improve gameplay and the usage of the sometimes huge
settings/scenery (word?), this could have been so much better, even one of the top N64 games.
To me it was very enjoyable. Much more so than I thought beforehand.

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't posted in a long time. I've had almost no time for N64 lately, work has been super busy so I've had hardly any time to play

Plus Dark Rift was harder than I expected. I tend to get easily frusterated with fighting games. But eventually I started to click at it and now I can say I've beaten this one (on Normal difficulty, I don't think I'll be trying hard anytime soon.)

And here's the proof:

I think there are still quite a few available. Check the very first post for the list. I'm going to relinquish South Park. I rarely play it and when I do it seems to glitch so I'm giving up. If I beat something for the Game Off that is available then I'll post when I do. For now, South Park is available for others to try. Someone beat it recently, if I remember correctly, so if they have pics they could claim it now.
