If it does not say Sony above the Start and Select buttons, or if the PlayStation button is blank or says PS3 in a different font, then it is 3rd party. I bought a pink PS3 controller the other day, knowing full well that it was not Sony authorized. My reason for that is because I know I'm getting a very well built controller for a fraction of the price based on past experiences with these controllers. Ones that look almost identical with the exception for the lack of Sony branding are still great quality controllers. I bought a lot of them for the PS2 as well. Nintendo controllers on the other hand have not been up to par until the GameCube and Wii knock offs came about. If you're going for collecting, the first one does not look legit. But it will still work just as well. |

They are all SONY branded even the gold one, its just a bad photo, i read somewhere that they are copying them very well now but the main way to tell is only when they are out of the packet, and i want to keep them sealed especially the gold one, i got them all off a local auction site so i have no reason to think they are not real but i just want to make sure, i might have to do more google seaching. |
