I completed MGS4 earlier tonight. Everyone should play this game. Everything and more that a MGS could of wanted. The story is still bloated and overly "WTF" filled, though. |

Yeah, it's almost perfect. I spent two months playing very little else but Fallout 3. Where are you at in the game just now, Stinger? |

Endure and survive...

lets see, i just finished with the galaxy news radio quest (where you go get that dish) before that i did blood ties. now my current quests are going to rivet city, and working on chapter 2 of the survival book! this game is a true reflection of the kind of game i would want to make if i were a developer. i want to quit my job and play it around the clock better not though... |

I did too... I ended up putting just under 100 hours into the game by the time I'd finished everything. Here's a word of advice for your game; the main quest will, at some point in the future, ask you to find a place called Little Lamplight. If you continue that quest takes you beyond Little Lamplight and it makes exploring some areas of the Wasteland impossible. So, when you get to the entrance of Little Lamplight, save! Explaining the rest without spoilers is difficult... Edited by alxbly, Jan 4 2009, 06:01 PM.

Just completed We Love Katamari, I'll either play Psychonauts (PS2) or continue with The Orange Box (360) while waiting for my next wave of 360 games (Oblivion, Fable II, Prince of Persia) to come in. |

I've not posted in this topic for a while! Let's see. It's been mainly Doshin the Giant (Gamecube) lately, though I started a new empire on Dynasty Warriors 4 (PS2) earlier today. I downloaded Super Metroid (SNES/Wii) about a week ago, but I haven't played it an awful lot. From what I've played though, it seems brilliant.

Currently Mario Kart Wii. So I finished up all teh cups on all difficulties, now I'm going back unlocking everything by getting 1 star ratings (or higher) on all teh cups on all difficulties. I know need to get a 1 star rnaking on 4 cups on 150cc and 4 cups on mirror to unlock the last remaining vehicles. Once I unlock all those, I'll have to attempt to beat all 32 expert staff ghost. Once I've done that (and if I do), I'll attempt to get 3 star ratings on all cups on all difficulty modes so I can have a 3 star by my name on Wifi. Slowly getting there. (except staff ghost) |

I've been playing quite a few games recently. Transformers The Game (Xbox 360) This game was quite a disappointment when I first played it. The story doesn't follow the movie very well, most of the cutscene FMV looks bad (they should have just used clips from the movie instead), guns are underpowered, the vehicle's handle like s*** and the game is quite restrictive. That said, there is some fun to be had... the melee combat is simple but satisfying. I guess I'll always manage to scrape some fun from a Transformers game. But, for the record, Atari's Transformers game for the PS2 is actually better than this. Kameo: Elements of Power (Xbox 360) I'd never got around to finishing Kameo, so I thought it was about time. I know the final boss is the at the end of my next quest, so I should have completed this in the next few days. Kameo's really quite good fun, it reminds me of earlier Rare platformers like Banjo, DK, etc. The only problem is a slightly dodgy camera in some areas. Call of Duty: World at War (Xbox 360) The campaign is as enjoyable as CoD4, and a little longer. I'm on mission 12 of 15 (or is it 16?) so this is another game I should finish in the next week or so. After I've completed it I'll be going back to hunt down some of the achievements and, of course, play it through on the hardest difficulty. Not done much online play with this game yet... that might change soon... ![]() 007 Quantum of Solace (Xbox 360) Best Bond game since Goldeneye? Yeah...and by a significant margin. Thank god the Bond license changed hands from EA, they really were killing it. This game feels fresh, is fun and challenging. I'll post more detailed impressions once I've had a chance to play more of it. Fable 2 - Knothole Island Expansion (Xbox 360) Rushed content from Lionhead that feels quite insubstantial. My advice is to save some money and download the free version, which lets you join another persons game for co-op play. Fable 2 works better as co-op anyway. |

I've been replaying through Wind Waker for the past 4 days. Currently on the final part of the game (second part of Ganon's tower). Though I'm going for a 100% file before finishing it. So getting all the Heart Pieces and charts. Games pretty awesome still. |

I've been playing through Fable II. I'm at the Ritual Quest in the main storyline, but I'm taking my time trying to do other stuff before I really get much further. I just received the Maelstorm from the Temple of Shadows. |

Recently I've been playing: Earth Defence Force 2017 (Xbox 360) This is good, much better than I'd expected. You fight an invading force of giant ants (not unlike Body Harvest) with a selection of cool weapons. The hook for the game is the sheer number of enemies and the destructible environments. Best bit so far was when I fired a missle at a huge tower to try to dislodge the ants that were on it... and the whole freakin' tower came down! Very, very cool. Gears of War 2 (Xbox 360) It's as polished as the first game and just as challenging. Chainsawing through enemies is always fun. ![]() Ironman (Xbox 360) Finished it a while ago but playing through some levels to get achievements that I missed the first time around. Turok (Xbox 360) My first real surprise of the year (in gaming) was finding out that Turok is actually quite good. I'm enjoying it. Fight Night Round 3 (Xbox 360) Rented this today and finding it to be a lot of fun. Illegal moves are quite funny and the controls, whilst taking a while to get used to, work quite well. I'd have bought this if it wasn't so short. Animal Crossing Wild World (DS) Playing this again in anticipation of getting Animal Crossing City Folk on Wii... surely it will come down in price soon... ? |

Dare I ask what those non-gaming surprises were?
Nintendo have made it quite clear that they won't be reducing the price of their games; even their launch titles are still $50. You'll have to buy it used to get a lower price (unless those are the prices you were referring to, I'm not sure... ). Does it sell for more than the cost of other games or do you just not want to pay the full Wii price for it?
