Just started on Fallout 3 again. (I quit the last time after going through about half an hour of the game) I don't know whether to proceed playing it because right now I've just reached the Mageta town and I'm still not "feeling" the game. I guess I might switch to playing Dead Rising 2/Resident Evil 5/Left 4 Dead 1&2 because I feel like killing some zombies for some weird reason. Any advice on whether I should continue playing Fallout 3 or should I just switch to playing one of those games I listed above? And if so which one? *note: I have completed L4D once over a year ago and played some L4D2 on the PC already but I'm thinking of going through the 360 versions to get achievements. |

Can't give you any advice on Fallout 3... but from what I hear, it's supposed to be a STELLAR game. I think a couple of the other admins (dataDyne, alxbly) couldn't stop raving about it a few years back. I've been trying to finish up Super Street Fighter IV... hopefully should be done with all the tough/time-consuming trophies this weekend. Which means a platinum/100% can't be that far off!! Jumped back into Demon's Souls and Uncharted 2 multiplayer last night... and holy crap I love both those games. Also played a game of the Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Multiplayer Beta last night... seems like it could be WAY fun!! Will have to spend a good bit more time with it this next week.

Fallout 3 is sick. The only reason I stopped playing it is because my brother ran my file and broke into a hut with a sentry gun after taking pain pills, and my guy has low health. Now if I stay in the building, I get killed by the turret gun. If I leave, the pain pills kill me because I'm addicted. I HAD health, but my brother used it all on his killing spree when I was doing a light side run. Oh yeah, leaving buildings autosaves. So I gotta start over now :/ What have I learned from this? Put a password on your GamerTag so no one can play your save files.

Sorry guys... I've just decided to quit playing Fallout 3 again. Spending hours travelling in the abandoned underground metro filled with creepy feral ghouls just spooked me out too much. x.x I've just started playing Borderlands though and I'm totally enjoying it! It's very similar to Fallout 3 but the environment in Borderlands seems much more "happy" to me.

{psst!} Use a trainer!! Borderlands is amazing. I rented it from GameFly and REFUSED to return it until I 1,000'd it. Then they released a load of DLC that made me want to buy the game..... despite the fact that I already completed everything possible in the base game (if my wording is confusing, I was TEMPTED to buy it, but haven't yet done so. But it's still on my to-do list). Borderlands is one of my favorite FPS's from this generation. Enjoy it!! |

Haha yeah I'll definitely enjoy it. My brother Platinum'd it on his PS3 last year so I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a damn awesome game. BTW, can you use cheats on the 360 version of Fallout 3? It'd make things a lot more enjoyable to me if you could lol. |

No cheats. But you'll be a walking disaster before you know it (especially with the infinite experience glitches if you remove the patch). |

Hmm cool how long will it be till I am able to use the glitches? I've just completed Three Dog's "Finding the Museum of Technology" mission today. I should be able to use them because I haven't downloaded any patches for the game yet and I'm playing the first release version not any GOTY edition or anything and I haven't downloaded any DLC for it yet either. I guess I'll give Fallout 3 a try again one of these days. *Goes back to playing Borderlands* |

So, recently I've been playing the new Borderlands DLC - Claptrap's New Robot Revolution. Just managed to finish it tonight, so that's me 100%ed that game, full 1750G in achievements. I also recently finished Dead Rising 2, completing overtime mode and achieving a S rank ending. I found DR2 quite difficult to get into at first; the save system is a bit archaic and the time constraints often tempted me to avoid travellling to save locations. Without fail I'd be killed not long after. Damn. But once you level up past L25 things get easier and a lot more. Battlefield Bad Company 2 distracted me for a short while (the campaign is pretty short) but it was good fun. I especially like the way that pretty much everything can be destroyed and the controls feel right to any Call of Duty players. Halo Reach left me a little cold. A friend and I rushed through the campaign but he was "saving" the cutscenes for his legendary playthrough. I shouldn't have played it like that because I totally missed the point of the story and found the ending particularly unsatisfying. Stil, I will replay it on legendary difficulty so I guess it will all become clear then. Bully Scholarship Edition was a bit of surprise. It had sat on my shelf for ages (years, literally) but it seemed like the right time to go back to it, and the familiarity with Red Dead Redemption helped a lot (both are made by Rockstar and have similar structures even although they look and play quite differently). It was really fun and I was actually kind of sad when it was finished. Seeing Dead Space on sale was too tempting, so I ended up buying the 360 version and selling my PS3 copy. It gave me a good excuse to play through it again, this time with the controller that I prefer. And it was still a lot of fun the second time. Really looking forward to Dead Space 2 now... and I suspect I'm not the only person that feels this way. ![]() Dead Rising Case Zero is pretty short so it was easy to 100% it. A nice taster for Dead Rising 2. Prototype - much the same as Dead Space, seen it on 360 for cheap so sold the PS3 version. Actually finished it this time and really enjoyed it. It's almost as good as Crackdown and just a little bit better than Infamous. Don't mention Crackdown 2 though. Red Dead Redemption - Damn. This was just amazing. The world feels complete, it sucks you in and you just don't want to leave. The atmosphere and story telling is really first class, there's characters you'll find yourself really caring for. It seems to take a lot of the things that GTA IV wanted to achieve (such as more serious story and believable world) and just... do them in a way that's quite noticably better. This one is a gem and games can be art. EDIT - Oh, and I dusted off my DS for a recent trip away for a few days. I really enjoyed playing GTA Chinatown Wars, that's yet another game I need to get around to finishing. Edited by alxbly, Oct 12 2010, 07:53 PM.

I'm ashamed to say I haven't picked up Red Dead Redemption yet. I am planning to soon, as my tax return should arrive in the next week or so. And yes, count me in on one of the (many) people looking forward to Dead Space 2. The first one was simply amazing; the atmosphere of the game blew me away. |

I felt sad too when I completed Bully last month. It's a really great game and it's the first 360 game that I ever 100% completed. Funny thing about it is I started playing it again (I had stopped playing at the 2nd stage the last time) after playing Red Dead Redemption and the game seemed much more fun. That said, overall I thought Red Dead Redemption was definitely better than Bully but I didn't feel so sad after completing Red Dead Redemption because the story was pretty much complete as I was finally able to shoot that @!*$ Edgar Ross in the head in the end. Bully on the other hand kept me wanting for more and I really hope that there'll be a sequel to Bully sometime in the future. Borderlands is amazing. I'm playing it right now (level 18 Hunter) and for some reason the game became much easier after I passed lvl 13 and got a strong Sniper Rifle. As for Halo: Reach, you definitely NEED to replay the game and watch the cutscenes this time. Some of the cutscenes in the game are way more epic than any other cutscene that you will find in any other Halo game. My only complain about the game is that some of the armor abilities were too broken. The armor lock makes plasma grenades slip right off you(kinda defeats the purpose of a plasma grenade doesn't it?). But other than that it is a really great game. I enjoyed it a lot more than Halo 3. So I finally picked up Red Dead Redemption last week, and I've been playing it non-stop ever since. I'm completely floored by this game; everything about it is just perfect. I love just riding through the wilderness for hours on end, admiring the beautiful landscape and watching the game's world spring to life. What an incredible game.

Oh my goodness Undead Nightmare looks amazing. The trailer was awesome (I loved the narrator's voice). And about GTA IV: Episodes from Liberty City, it took me about 3~4 hours to complete The Lost & Damned and about 8~9 hours to complete The Ballad of Gay Tony. TBoGT is definitely better than TLAD storywise but TLAD is much better for getting Achievements. Also, TBoGT took me so long because of some really difficult helicopter missions but it becomes pretty easy once you get the hang of it. The skydiving missions are really great though.

So I just rented Naughty Bear for the 360.... It's actually pretty fun to be honest. You scare bears and kill them in awesome ways. But the achievements are annoying and the missions are tedious. But it has some great replay value though. I just hate how there's no checkpoints after each loading screen, even though each mission is rather short. By the way, anyone want to boost the online achievements in GTA IV? I have a group of three people right now, and we're looking for one or two more. Edited by Alice Lawless, Oct 20 2010, 07:48 PM.

YAY for Dead Space (2) love!!! And yeah... Red Dead Redemption looks like a pretty epic game... one of these days I'll get around to playing it (and/or GTAIV). Anyways, aside from Demon's Souls (which I LOOOOOOVE with all of my body, btw), I've been playing a few TiR games in Dead Rising 2 for grins & giggles, and just yesterday I bought Super Meat Boy (360), since it launched for $5 cheaper than it will be next month. What an awesome game... such a throwback to the awesome platformers of yore, yet so refreshingly original at the same time!!

Just to warn anyone who is thinking about getting Medal of Honor: I've just started playing MoH today and already I've encountered freezing 3 times in the game. Apparently this game gets your xbox overheated really easily and I don't seem to be the only one facing the problem(note: I've even installed it in my 360's harddrive). A lot of people are complaining about the game freezing during autosave points and during multiplayer matches on Xbox Live. I've since reduced the temperature of the air-conditioning in my room and the game hasn't froze yet after 2 hours. Hopefully the game doesn't freeze again or cause my Xbox to get the RROD. It's a fine game though. I've played many FPS games similar to this one like the COD games so anyone who likes COD will definitely like this.

The freezing isn't platform specific, it's just that the game is riddled with bug and glitches that make it crash. A quick google search turns up plenty evidence that it's freezing on PS3 as well: http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=medal+of+honor+freezing&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a EA have kinda dropped the ball with this one. The single player is really ridiculously short and the game in general is inconsisitent in most areas; graphics, sound, scripting and servers seem to be all over the place. There's several scripted events that are totally linear and actually detract from the gameplay; Giant Bomb touch upon one of these in their review, skip to 4:20 in the review to see what i mean: http://www.giantbomb.com/medal-of-honor/61-29336/reviews/ The game seems fairly decent but it just feels like it could have done with a good few months more to get everything right. I'm not sure what EA wanted from this one... Battlefield is already an established modern warfare shooter for them, where as Medal of Honor needed to do a lot to even come close to a certain other shooter series which moved from WW2 to modern warfare. And this game hasn't really done it. Surely they know that if they want to top Call of Duty they need to pour a lot of resources and a lot of time into their game? This doesn't seem to have had either.

Still playing Demon's Souls... and STILL LOVING EVERY SINGLE MOMENT OF IT!!! I'm only about 170 hours into it, and I've seriously never loved a game as much as I do Demon's Souls. Yes, not even my beloved Dead Space holds a candle!! While the worlds may not be as vast as say that of Fallout 3, Demon's Souls is easily the deepest game I've ever experienced... there's just so much to this game that it boggles my mind. The customization, while seemingly not that extensive, is so great that I highly doubt that any two characters/skill-set builds created (even by the same person with the intent to create the same character/build) will ever be the same as another!!! The story is admittedly not that extensive... but the atmosphere is amazing, and - under the illusion of futility - you really do feel a huge sense of dependency on your own skill as you play through each world... there's very little room to play carelessly, and it's very strangely addictive. This game surely isn't for everyone... but I think everyone should at least try it, if only to see how innovative a developer can be in such an established genre. Also playing a little bit of Dead Rising 2 here and there. (Perhaps mainly to complement the calculated/careful gameplay in Demon's Souls with some nice brainless zombie-romping.)

Ok guys my term started last monday and I've barely had any time to play my 360. I've been playing Smackdown VS RAW 2011 over the past week and I'm gonna complete the RTWM story modes for all the characters soon so I'm gonna need a new game to play soon. Me and a group of my friends like "trading" games with each other temporarily and I'll be "trading" my SvR '11 for either one of these games: 1) Enslaved: Oddyssey to the West 2) Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 3) Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 4) Fallout: New Vegas (Not planning on playing this till I complete Fallout 3) x.x 5) Fable III Any ideas which game I should get? Thanks guys.
