Ive been playing some Metal Slug Anthology (Wii), Mario Kart 7 and Zen Pinball 3D.
Zen Pinball is really awesome! Fast and furious, with excellent 3D graphics and polished gameplay.
If you have a 3DS, just go to the eShop and buy it (if you have any interest in pinball games of course).

And add my FC code so we can share scores etc.
My 3DS Friend code is 0731-4737-4010

I'm addicted to Team Fortress 2 (PC) again.

It's free on Steam and the vast majority of PC's can run it, so if you want to give it a try download it from http://store.steampowered.com/app/440/?snr=1_234_234__103_1. I know Meptrep plays it, unsure if anyone else does.

I've played it for 26 hours in the last 2 weeks.

Sonic 4 (PC)

Got it earlier on Steam, Played around 5.4 hours (mainly going after the Chaos Emeralds)

Sonic CD (PC)

Played for a little bit, haven't started it yet though

Had a chance to sample a handful of Dreamcast games today. Maken X, Silver and Elemental Gimmick Gear. They were all pretty fun but that last one especially bears watching. It would seem to be the Dreamcast equivalent of Zelda:LttP or Alundra on the PSone. Very intriguing story and I love the play style.

Star Soldier: Vanishing Earth (N64). What a blast ...wish i could play all night! This game got so-so reviews, but it very much feels like the never released sequel to Axelay. Enemies, bullets, explosions everywhere ... What's not to love??

Still sampling through my recent purchases. Spent time with The Simpsons: Hit & Run and Pirates: The Legend of Black Kat for PS2, and before that I played Demolition Racer: No Exit and Ecco The Dolphin: Defender of the Future for Dreamcast. I had never played Ecco before but it was a lot of fun.

I've been sinking some serious hours into Counter Strike: Global Offensive with another forum goer (Meptrep). (We've played around 200 rounds in 2 days :O)

It's in an extremely closed beta at the moment so I doubt anyone has it but if anyone has it I'll happily play with you

RESIDENT EVIL 4 on the cube.

Hands down the most intense game I've ever played, also the most polished. Too bad the sequel was less of an experience, also these games by Capcom are so hit and miss, but this one is their crown jewel in the entire series. So much effort was put into this title. Rated in the top five, if not the best on the system, strongly encourage one to play this game!

I have been playing my N64 alot lately. I really hate the speed drop with PAL games now.

Goldeneye- I loved this game, must of least put 200 hours into this game when I got it for christmas. I nearly didn't ask for it. My mother was in Dixsons(lol) and asked what I wanted for xmas. Having little interest in FPS I decided I would pick somthing else, not that was much choice in my town. My nearest EB was over 20 miles away. The Rare badge and lack of choice sealed the deal.

I feel in deep love with it. It was special. To this day a FPS must be special to grab my interest for more then mowing down a few waves. COD BF and its many clones will never have that special feeling you got when playing Goldeneye. Half Life (series) would be one of a few FPS that I would class to be special.

I went back a few times played the dam shot the guy on loo and prety much went back to whatever else I was playing. This time I decided to go back for real and see if I can back to glory days. Like riding a bike..lol or not.
Still on a 40inch LCD HDTV it looks pretty ugly. Levels can be too dark and the frame rate chugs alot. I'm using a GC style stick replacment and I haven't noticed too much of change in how sensitive the aim is. I am finding pretty hard in places. Levels like the statue and jungle are too dark. I was pleased with how well the worst part of the game held up; the tank leve;l was great fun and much better then that nasty re doing it got on the Wii spin off. Still I'm at the Jungle on agent and want to put some more time into it again.

That is my only complaint with GoldenEye on my 46" LCD, the darkness. I can stand the graphics but the darkness level is distracting. I need to see if I can change the settings of my TV to my liking when playing it.

I agree. I have tried lots of things and my TV is setup for each console and N64 seetings I use seem fine on everything else. One example on the return to the sirena level. The red fog is so dark tring to shoot the CCTV camaras is a nightmare. I tried changing setting while in the building/dish but it hardly made any difference.

I just started playing Super Mario 64 on the Wii. My N64 cart has all four save slots used, plus I wanted to try it out with a GameCube stick since I don't have one of those nifty little stick replacements for the N64 controller. I'm about 11 or 12 stars in. I noticed that you have to apply more pressure to the stick to get Mario to tiptoe. And when you get him going, you have very little room before he starts walking. It's like the slight-pressure-window has a reduced range.

Well, after almost 4 months, I am putting Battlefield 3 down. Had a bit of burn out, and the new patch pissed me off. So anyhow, I started Assassins Creed II last night. AC Brotherhood will likely follow. Weird to put down Battlefield games in general. I pretty much have played them exclusively since September. 700+ hours!

Yeah I feel ya, I've clocked an insane amount of hours into the "War" type genre of games as well. I was burned out after Modern Warfare 2, Halo 3, etc.. Pretty much done with them, forever.. ha. Going to go back and play all the acclaimed GameCube games I never picked up when I was younger.

Roadsters (N64). Aside from Star Wars Episode I Racer (of course), this may be the best racing game I've played on the N64. Tight controls? Check. Cool, fog-free tracks? Check. Money for upgrades? Check. Career mode? Check. Just racing/no gimmicks? Check. Think I might play this one to conclusion.

Terrible games or terrible what they did to them? I avoided picking that up when I heard about the changes. I ended up getting the original versions of 2 and 3 again.

I've been looking forward to that release for a long time, but I haven't picked it up yet. What's wrong with it? I know about the reduced fog and the new voices, but what else?

Well, I'm picky, but the games themselves have never been...well...great. Aside from a few technical faults (frame-rates, new 3D controls, etc.), they are pretty much the same thing that you would remember from way back when.

Here - I got in a little trouble from the publisher, but here's my rant: http://holdstartselect.com/2012/04/10/silent-hill-hd-collection-review/

Anyway, I'm currently playing the Witcher 2 for the X360...eh, its interesting enough...I spose.

Played some Castlevania this weekend on my newly restored NES (thanks again Clarky). I was left with this thought: what happened to video game music? Was it that 8-bit music was so hard to make good that they had to put in a lot of effort to make it good? Castlevania can be so hard--in a tedious sense--and yet I just wanted to keep playing as the sound track kept me locked in and ready to whip some more birds, monkeys, and swamp men. . . . .

Totally agree with you man. People try so hard these days to make great OST's for games but they'll never be like the 80's and 90's music. One guy can create a whole soundtrack but now a days you have a whole team and sometimes a whole orchestra and it's still not the same.

I fully agree with both of you guys. Theirs something about some NES soundtracks that just keep you playing. They seem to entice you to do better everytime you die lol

I think Konami, Temco, Sunsoft, Rare and Nintendo created some of the best 8-bit tracks.
