Still playing Super Mario Strikers on the GameCube and I broke down and picked up Halo 4 for the Xbox 360. Originally I picked up Black Ops 2 but for some strange reason it didn't run properly on my 360 so I swapped it for Halo 4 which truly is a fantastic game. I'd forgotten how inviting the Halo community can be at times when playing on-line.

It is a great game, Shadow :D

Played some more Pilot Wings and Road Rash this morning for our Game Off challenge.

I also played a bit of Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, and Mario Kart to see how my little girl liked them. She completed her first half lap on the first track :D Not bad for a 2 year old

Just discovered the Balloon Flight mini game in Nintendo Land for Wii U... after spending too much time on VC version of Balloon Fight i thought i might give it a spin.
And i really liked it! Simple concept, a child can understand it but it will take ages and some considerable skill to really master it.
Amazing how Nintendo just keeps on turning simple ideas into addictive games that anyone can enjoy.

the trick is to maximize your scores in the early levels. pop an enemy and let it take off again. pop it once more, wait till it takes off again and pop it again etc...
also make sure you get all 20 balloons in the bonus levels for extra points

No power here yesterday afternoon, so I broke out the trusty 3ds, fully charged and played some MK7 and a bit of Mario 3D land.

Power back on today, spent most of the day playing ZombiU as well as the classic Balloon Fight on the WiiU VC.

I played the heck out of my DS yesterday for a little over an hour. Pokemon Black :yeah:

even ran into and caught a very rare one after trying and trying last year. Kind of funny to try so hard for so long and then put it down for well over a year, only to effortlessly find and catch him while tinkering out of the blue.

Among the many different games I have had trickle in over the last few weeks, my daughter picks out this PS2 game called Brave: The Search for Spirit Dancer and asks me to play it for her. So I did, and lo and behold, it is pretty fun. Not quite on the level of a Jak & Daxter or Sly Cooper, but a pretty decent little platformer of the same ilk. It borrows some elements from TLoZ as well. I'm enjoying splitting time between it and South Park.

Played some Trine 2 Directors Cut on the Wii U today. 5 levels down out of 20. Pretty fun side scroller with a bunch of puzzle to navigate through the levels.

Also played about 4 hours of Far Cry 3 today. Smashing through it and loving it. One of my favourite games of 2012.

@stinger, I remember the old games, you had a finite number of lives and once you lost them it was game over and start the whole game over and try to beat it.

These days you get unlimited chances to beat a certain difficult spot, so this makes it easier to complete games on a regular basis.

I really don't mind tho. I don't think I'd ave the patience these days to keep going all the way back to the start

I wouldn't say that they are amazingly better but they are def a step up from the old games. Never played them on the PS2 so I can't really answer your question about that. But the new HD upscale is very crisp and IMO much better than the original graphics. :yeah:

For patience sake I also am glad games are not that way anymore. I do like games that take over 10 hours to complete though. There are some good length games still coming out I guess. I like the ones that give you your money's worth with over 100+ of play time. :D
