Planet Side 2 has the best massive battles I've ever seen. It took us 4 hours to capture the crown (The middle point on one of the maps). There was around 1500 of us vrs around 400 of them, but it's insanely hard for the attacks to take it.

Since the update, it is somewhat the easiest thing to capture now. :(

started a new file on yoshi's island

last time i played this game was maybe 15 years ago

anyway, it's hard as hell. from the second level on i struggled  is it because i'm getting rustier (age 32) or because modern games are not challenging anymore?

games used to be a real challenge, now we have automatically refilling life meters and stuff

my god i'm starting to sound like cranky kong :D

Nothing nearly as epic as most, I'm sure. I have built a big underground area centered around lava falling from the ceiling. Sometimes I channel some water down to either snuff the lava out or just to have contrasting colors. I've built a few rooms, including one for "me" and one for my daughter. She got a kick out of that, but I almost ruined her room when I was replacing the stone tiles in the ceiling for diamond ones and I punched through into another pocket of lava. I should probably point out that I'm playing in creative mode instead of survival. I will try that mode another day. Anyway, its been fun and quite serene so I find it relaxing.

@hockeylife enjoy man, it's really a fantastic game. I can remember that one of the parts I struggled the most was at Fourside, but... no spoilers ;).

I started and finished The Last of Us this weekend. It's an amazing game - incredibly brutal in all the right ways. I plowed through it with a co-worker on hard, and it wasn't so bad, and that's with finishing a fifth of Wild Turkey 101 between the two of us the first night (and got 50% through).

I've also started playing GoldenSun TLA again. I've never been able to get very far despite having the game for 6 years now since I usually get bored with turn based RPG's which is kind of ironic since Goldensun is the first game I really got into 10 years ago but since then the only RPG's I've been able to get through are Pokemon and Paper Mario TTYD. I also might also try and hunt down a copy of GS1 since back when I was a kid I somehow got to the final boss with some help but never defeated it. 9 years later I finally figured out what I was doing wrong. I wasn't using strategy, I wasn't using the right attacks at the right time or the right items.

Mario Kart Double Dash - the hours we have clocked up on this - totally immense. We have been playing this for years and its currently back in vogue at our house. Because we know the tracks so well races are super tight - great fun. I've convinced myself that this is the best in the series - there isn't a filler track to be seen here. Baby Park oval is a work of genius - it plays like a special mode all on it's own - like the Ben Hur chariot race on LSD.

This version is unique in that it features the co-op mode that really does work extremely well.

That's good buddy. I downloaded it the other day too. Havn't had the opportunity to play it yet. I dove straight into Bioshock Infinite when it arrived yesterday and spent a number of hours playing that. I'm loving it at the moment, it's quite a fun twisted kinda game.

Got my copy of Pikmin 3 in the mail yesterday so I popped that in today. Unfortunately, I had been busy over the past couple months playing other games for the PC/PS3/Wii so my Wii U had to go through about 30 minutes of updates >_<
But that got settled I have been playing that today, and then taking some breaks playing NintendoLand since I still love that game (but I suck at all the games now :P )

Cruising through Bioshock Infinite. Such a great game that I literally took no notice of when it came out. I believe I'm nearly at the end. Pretty fun experience and a little different as far as a story line goes, but that's what makes it a good game :yeah:

I've had some time with Battle for Naboo for the Game Off continuation (frustrating) and also revisited my Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning game (fun). As schizo as my gaming is I'll probably be playing something else tomorrow.

Crackdown was amazing. I'm a sucker for open world do-what-you-want games and this was incredible especially for it's time.

Have not played Crackdown 2 though, but if it stays on 360 forever I probably never will (my xbox broke back in 07' or '08)

I started playing Dark Souls but don't know if I have the patience or commitment in me to complete it.

I've also been playing the Game of Thrones mod for Crusader Kings 2.

And Goldeneye: Source. Does anyone here play???

Onto MK 9 for me, I went off fighting games for ages. My wife brought me Tekken 5 a while back and I've hardly touched it but Mk was always my fav and this one is really good.
