Twitch Plays Pokemon was a good idea on paper. The actual stream is so hectic that it kinda breaks the purpose of the experiment. So many inputs are entered at the same time that it's kind of like Red is being controlled by RNG (Random Number Generator) and not the actual people. Yet, they managed to get 4 badges.

The only good thing about TPP (in my opinion) is that it completely destroyed the chat servers and now Twitch will (finally) fix their chat issues.

I've been checking the updates on it since it started because it is pretty hilarious for the most part. I really don't see how they managed to beat 4 gym leaders, especially the last one, but that just makes it even better. :P
For anyone interested in getting some background, this article does a pretty good job at explaining the important/funny details.
http://www.dorkly.com/article/59332/there-are-thousands-of-people-trying-to-play-the-same-game-of-pokemon

I agree that the chat/stream delay hurts the project , but its still amusing to watch, if only for 2 minutes periods. :)

Yeah it's not too bad. Takes a bit of getting used to, and plus I don't want to be doing too much motion aiming at work anyway, people might be thinking what the heck is he doing.

Like the people who throw themselves left or right when playing a game with the controller. Makes me laugh

secret of evermore (snes): this is my favorite action adventure on the snes. it has a deep weapon / alchemy system. you could say it's an RPG but it's actually more like zelda: you need some serious d-pad skills, and not select some actions in an ATB menu like most RPG's. it has brilliant graphics and environments.

street fighter II (snes) my god this is an addicting gem. after all these years this is still the champion.

UN squadron (snes) first time playing this, and i can already see its incredibly deep. great shooter

another world (snes): a very mellow game, prefect for those lonely late hour (when the wife is asleep) gaming sessions.

super mario world (snes): years of current gen gaming have done real damage to my gaming skills, when i even struggle with the last koopa in the underground cave. it's still gaming bliss; the best mario platformer and probably the best platformer ever period

indiana jones (snes): it's a bit like castlevania with the whip play. it's tedious in places (i cant get past the minecart level, something i do wrong with those blasted levers) but it's filled with brilliant levels. all 3 movies are fully represented, i can see this one going up in price real soon

castlevania vampire's kiss (snes) i've only got to level 2, the bat boss. my god how hard this game is...

super castlevania 4 (snes): i'm kind of in a castlevania mood these days. i just love vampires

After a first run with Ninja Gaiden: Razor's Edge last night on the Wii U, it was back to Stunt Racer 64 for the Beats Em All. 5 hours of counted racing time and still several rounds from the final boss (and probably several extra runs to earn enough to buy a top level car to beat him with).

the first part when you need to jump over platforms to the first level, took me 20 minutes because I fell off all the time =.=

then when need to collect bees for the Big Breasted Flower .. I died alot (or I went inside a building/house) and need to collect those bees again.. God this was terrible.

but the game, Its amazing!

Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze! Really good and the soundtrack is to die for. I was never a fan of DKCR with its rubbish blow move, motion controls and strange sterile feel. This game though looks, plays and sounds ^ as the cog from CBFD day would say would "Fan :cussfit: ingtastick"(northern English accent required)

Perhaps today you should take out your PS3 or Xbox 360 copy of Burnout: Paradise and download the free (for today only) Legendary Cars DLC pack. Criterion Games is offering the pack for free in honor of the passing of Harold Ramis. I wish I had a copy of the game for the consoles right now instead of the download PC version. :-/

Burnout: Paradise is an excellent, excellent game... I know I spent COUNTLESS hours dorking around Paradise city, driving like a total idiot. :w00t:

I probably shelled out 2X the price of the game, just off of the DLC!! Back then, I just couldn't get enough of whatever Criterion added on to the game.

So my mate convinced me to download Minecraft on the PS3 for a bit of multiplayer action. I was never real fussed over it and have never played.

Funnily enough I really like it. One of those hidden games that I never felt like getting at all. It seems I may have been extremely late to the party anyway :D

I was the same with Minecraft last year. Picked up the $20 360 version and had fun with it for awhile. Now only my daughter plays it. I couldn't do any multiplayer, though, so that could be a factor. Not that I ever did any survival so I don't really "know how to play" as it were. Have they released the PS3 version in a physical copy or is it only via the Store?

As for what I've been playing, I had a chance to play some WarioWare DIY last night and it was pretty fun. Definitely a good jump in jump out game. :yeah:

I had some time this week so i finally got around to playing Saints Row 4...
Gotta say, i was pretty disappointed the direction this series has taken after the 2nd one and this actually didn't surprise me with what I saw on the ads, once you beat the story, it's a very very...VERY boring game.
Finally moving on to play Dead Space 2 after i have 100% on saints row, 8 achievements on the DLC to go!

Racing for Fulcon Capital
Now that I've complete Stunt Racer, I've spent a little more time with my Wii U.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. I hate to say it, buy MK8 is going to have a hard time topping the graphics of this one. Granted I spend most of my time on consoles older than some members here, but my word, the racing environments are astoundingly beautiful. For instance, you can see through the crystal waters to make out the reefs underneath them. The "After Burner" course is like the fabled Sin & Punishment naval stage, only bigger, badder and in HD. Glorious. The music is excellent, and the racing mechanics and gameplay are solid too. The only real weakness is the Mario Kart style power-ups, most of which are kind of lame (i.e., a baseball glove ??). Anyway, enjoying Sonic Racing very much.

Assassin's Creed III. I had to ask another member here if this one was ever going to pick up. Not being used to interactive movie type games, I was thoroughly bored and underwhelmed by the "action" tasks for the few couple of HOURS of the game. Walking. Climbing a theatre balcony. Picking a lock. Walking to talk to someone. Snore. When I finally got to America, the game curiously rolled the title credits, as if to suggest, ok, now we are ready to being. So I'm press onward, but if it doesn't pick up soon . . . .

Sonic all stars racing is pretty good mate. I played it for a whole weekend when it came out on the Wii U with my brother.

I have a feeling that MK will be above and beyond better. How could Nintendo let a Sega game be better than a Mario Kart game on their own console.

i'm with you on ACIII. I avoid interactive movie type games like the plague

oh dear i feel i'm going off for a rant again :P

these games that boast hollywood like production costs, with huge open worlds and incredible graphics, i just can't get my head around them. they are far too complicated, levels are a mess. challenge is reduced to hitting the buttons that appear on screen (QTE), so every action game nowadays resembles parappa the rapper or something.

why is it that developers think we don't like simple, even short action games anymore? and why does every action game needs to have classic music in stead of heavy metal like in the golden snes days.

The new arrivals, specifically golden OoT, have stolen Shadow Man's thunder. SM is now on hold whilst I obsessively play Ocarina of Time. Have just finished the Fire Temple, and am now struggling to catch a fish big enough for the golden scale. Will be back on the Shadow Man soon enough, though. That game's way too cool not to finish.

Glad to hear you are liking Sonic, yeah. Visually it blew me away, I played it on the PC in 4k while maxed out and the game's art style shows, heck it even looks great on Vita which luckily was a direct port from the PS3 (unlike say, the lego games which sadly use the 3DS version which I've heard is less than great although I haven't played it myself)

After my N64 memory pak decided to erase my data on Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, I started playing these games:

Colony Wars (PlayStation): This game's difficulty is brutal. Some of these missions seem to be dangerously close to crossing the "impossible" line. The good news is you don't need to complete the mission to continue on through the game, but I think I remember this game having multiple endings. If I keep on like this, I'm going to end up with the worst one. :\

Kingdom Hearts (PlayStation 2): Playing this one with a friend when we have free time to do so. We each have our own copies and play on separate systems, but go through the game together. We've done this before with Resident Evil 2 (GameCube version for him, N64 version for me) and Pokemon (LeafGreen for him, FireRed for me) and had a lot of fun doing so.

Mega Man Battle Network 5: Team Colonel (Game Boy Advance): I think this is the only game of the three that I started playing before Turok 2's memory erased as it was a game I could play anywhere. At first, I was glad to give the Battle Network games another chance (I didn't like Mega Man Battle Network 3 as a teen simply because it "wasn't Mega Man"), but then this game decided to be different by throwing in "Liberation missions", which turns the game into some kind of tactical turn-based thing that I can't get into. Still, the rest of the game keeps me moving forward. :)
