There is no spoon.
Because my wonderful Wife gave me a Super Famicom for Christmas, I've been totally over my head in purchasing & playing imports.
Right now it's,
Last Fighter Twin Great Battle 2 (Gundam Final Fight?)
Garou Densetsu 2
Gegege No Kitaro (Weird & creepy, but good)
Street Fighter Zero 2

I have about 10 games out there that I am waiting for. It is like the 90's all over again.

Your wife is indeed wonderful!

Ironically, I've been playing the SNES version of Street Fighter Alpha 2 lately as well. I love Dhalsim's moveset in that game.

Hey, you may want to check out Godzilla: Kaijuu Daikessen. It's not very deep but it's still a shipload of fun if you're a fan of either fighting games or the Japanese giant monster genre.

Mission Impossible!

Decent game.

I was just reminded that I need to post in the under rated N64 musics topic about the CIA Rooftop music from this game.
It came up on the CD in my car today, a random collection of cool music I put together in 2007.

I could.never even get past the Warehouse level on Impossible.
Not sure if it was really that hard or I just really suck...
I did manage to complete the game on both modes back in the day my original save file is still there. I remember it was very challenging though throughout. I will attempt to complete on both difficulties as I think that classes as full completion as does Goldeneye on Agent, Secret Agent and 00 Agent.

I'll listen out for that track DJC thanks for the heads up.

@Miles:

Any hints for beating the game on Impossible would be nice. 👍

I'm sure I could do it if I tried....maybe.

What game have I been playing?
Killer Instinct and...work and a little bit of the sleeping game...
Enjoyable game... Always seems a bit short though. 😣

Now am playing Farcry 3 and I got a new Xbox 360 controller.
Honestly Dark Souls is too hardcore for me. I prefer being a casual player of games and Dark Souls kicked my butt.

I just played Resident Evil 7 for about three hours with my cousin. Shellshocker18 playing a game that isn't on a decade old Nintendo console. Shocker I know.

My expectations going in were actually somewhat low because I felt that the Resident Evil 7 demo was 100% terrible, likewise the first hour or so of the game is pretty sucky as well with lots of non-interactive parts and lots of talking from the 2 boring characters. Having gotten a decent ways into the game I have to say that this game while not feeling like a Resident Evil game in a thematic sense, it does have some of the slower paced, close quarters gameplay of the classic Re's but still feels like something completely different from those.

It has classic Resident Evil style item management and some puzzles you solve by finding key items and reading notes left throughout the place you're trapped in. There is a bit of backtracking through previous rooms which is nice but so far planning routes really hasn't come into play as enemies aren't exactly roaming every hall and in a way this makes the game less predictable. Playing a duel analog console game is definatly finicky for me at this point but it makes the combat feel quite difficult and enemy's are mostly big threats especially with the "limited ammo". Everyone always says RE games give you very little ammo but they actually do give you plenty, and this game also has the Re4 - Silent Hill 3 dynamic difficulty thing where it gives you herbs when you are low on health and bullets when you're low on ammo so the difficulty is pretty much constant whether you waste bullets or not. Of course the game has auto save which alleviates a lot of the tension but I understand why it has to be that way. Not to spoil much but the gameplay has a lot of parts that I feel are semi-scripted where you have to kinda move around and crouch behind stuff to stay hidden which I guess is a bad trope in a lot of horror games in recent years but it feels better here since you can somewhat defend yourself and the whole thing isn't layed out for you, at least from what I can tell. Also thematically this game is much more like something you would see in a typical horror movie what with the gore porn and the family drama. So far I've seen a couple of pretty brilliant moments as far as horror games go which is impressive for Resident Evil, very subtle moments that I would feel bad giving away but am also afraid no one else is noticing. Still plenty of normal spook house scares in classic RE fashion for the youtubers out there.

Of course I'm still relatively early in the game so it could go downhill but so far it's pretty enjoyable, though I wonder if it will be any good for multiple playthroughs or not. It doesn't quite have the air of an instant classic like the games in the series before and including Re4 but it feels much closer to what I want from a horror game than The Evil Within or Outlast.

Smashing a bit of Mission Impossible on 'impossible' mode. About 1/3 of the way through the game now. Hoping to get this finished soon so I can put it to bed. It will be the first time I have completed the game fully since back in the day. Refreshing.

Really the best DLC add ons I played of the few I played is Point Lookout from Fallout 3 mostly cause of its challenges and very unique setting. It's also very hard.

While I did not try that one, I have played several Bethesda dlcs and found them to mostly be very good. Blood and Wine is pretty lengthy. Officially they say 30+ hours. That seems pretty conservative. I have already almost to that, and still have loads to do. It added many quality aspects to the game as well.

Other downloadable content that has really impressed me:
Left Behind - The Last of Us
Dragonborn - Skyrim
Hearts of Stone - Witcher 3
Far Harbor - Fallout 4
Honest Hearts - Fallout NV

I was playing Rayman Origins until I realized the game reaches a certain point where it wants you to grind heavily to continue. Probably not going to finish that, as I hate grinding. Glad I didn't buy Legends.

Trying to finish ME3 Special Edition on the Wii U. I'm holding off on playing any more 3DS games until I get a New XL, as the tiny screen is killing me anymore. I might start getting through Gravity Rush on the Vita in the mean time.

I haven't played Origins much but I did play Legends to completion and I don't remember any grinding so maybe you would like that one more. The only grindy things I can think of were the online multiplayer which isn't important and unlocking all the character skins which is also not necessary. The controls are a lot more fluid too and the levels are better designed to keep you running fast at all times instead of Origins more cramped areas but if it's not your cup of tea that's fine. Legends was one of my favorite games for a while but I can see why some might not like it.

That's actually good to hear. I was enjoying Origins until it told me I needed to get 17 more pink blobs to continue...then 17 more after that...and there's two more bosses to go. And it's not like it'd been missing a lot of them. I might still give it a try, just have to decide between Wii U and Vita, which is where I was playing Origins.

Since I'm a fighting game and Mecha fanatic, I decided to play some Shin Kido Senki Gundam Wing: Endless Duel today. What a shame that this game never came to the SNES in the U.S. so more people could experience how completely AWESOME it is. :yeah:

I am still trying to beat Fallout New Vegas. A kind of annoying part of that game is that when you are being shot at from multiple people, you can sometimes not fire your weapon yourself. I am doing my NCR playthrough and my Legion playthrough

I have actually played that game recently on my Sd2snes and it was a ton of fun. I never played it enough to be any good but I love playing any obscure 2d fighting games from the 16-bit era because they are almost always super solid on all fronts and easy to get into. Also SnesDrunk gets an A+ from me on the scale of retro reviewers

I just got done playing Azul at a friends house on his PS4. Now games like Journey and Azul are not my style but I appreciate the amount of effort that went into them. I just have to say the decision to make the right trigger the swim button was a game breaker since the PS4 right trigger is notoriously terrible and creaks and fails inputs constantly unless I push on it way harder than normal. It kinda ruined a lot of the game and also hurt my finger which made the whole experience unenjoyable. I'm very peeved about the lack of a control set up since the game only uses 3 of the 8 available buttons.

If you're in to obscure 16-bit fighting games I suggest giving Weaponlord a try. It's not at all easy to get in to but it's the deepest fighting game to ever grace the SNES, IMHO. It's a lot of fun if you have another human to play it with because you can literally spend months figuring out all the various combos for each character.

Because of its depth Weaponlord wasn't really a commercial success when it was originally released towards the end of the Genesis and Super Nintendo's lifespan. Regardless, it has since achieved cult status and is even played competitively on-line to this day. Here's a very fitting retrospective to this cult classic.

Weaponlord 20th Anniversary Overview

I'm sharing a picture of my personal complete-in-box example of Weaponlord along with the 6-button controller that I use to play it with and some magazines that detail moves for the characters. Yup, I admit it - I'm a Weaponlord fanboy. :-8

I also own a second near mint condition cartridge that I picked up a few years ago because I was able to get it for under $5. WL is still reasonably priced on sites like eBay although I wouldn't blame anyone for giving it a try on their RetroPie or via Snes9x GX on the Wii first. Perhaps you can tell us how well it runs on the Sd2snes, Shellshocker18 as I don't own one?

I've actually seen Weaponlord but never played it. The thing that surprises me is that for a game where you can leave people in a pile of their own bloody body parts the T for Teen rating seems low, and the backrounds a really nice looking even by Snes standards. Sd2snes has no problems running any of the games it can play so I'll sit down and give Weaponlord a good playthrough when I get done with what I'm playing at the moment. If people still play it competitively I have no doubt it will be a solid game. Slightly off topic but I wish Fighter's Destiny was popular enough to be played competitively online.

Quake earned an M rating on every platform except Saturn, where it was awarded a T. No one's really sure why that's the case; Lobotomy may have rebuilt it from the ground up to get it working on the Saturn but it was still clearly Quake.

Playing borderlands 2 (handsome collection) on xbox one and the frame rate at times is horrendous. In open areas or when there are lots of enemies on the screen it gets so bogged down :( Maybe I should've got it on PS4

Wave Race: Blue Storm.

Wait, that did NOT just happen!
I just opened the other window to copy and paste the link to this Scandal Song and it happened to just come on PopAsia TV at the exact same time!!!
What the!!!

https://youtu.be/0yzL5DbjEAI

So, I kind of started playing to try and find if that song sounds like a specific song in the game OR just something along the lines of how the soundtrack is.
Anyway, I really like the game as it is, so its pretty enjoyable to get into anyway.

If at least one person knows what the hell I'm on about I'd be pretty happy 😆

Also been playing Killer Instinct a lot.
So good what they have done with the story, and I believe they are even going to make some sort of comic book series based on the Killer Instinct universe.
Ultra!!!!!!!!!!!!
