Since it's looking less and less likely that we're going to see a new Timesplitters game, the next best thing would be to get the trilogy (which were cross-platform games on the last generation of consoles) re-released in HD format. Normally I don't care about high-definition re-releases of games (especially since in the case of the Timesplitters games I still play them on my XBox 1), but in this case, a re-release could be very exciting, as not only might they expand the map maker to include everything we want*, but if they merged the three games into one engine, then they might well decide (fingers crossed) to make all single player and multi-player levels playable in the multiplayer (some single player levels in games can be brilliant when played against your mates in multiplayer), and also make the better weapons from all three games available in all three single player campaigns.

Anyway, Critek UK have hinted that a HD remake might be a possibility:

http://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/crytek-well-make-timesplitters-hd-if-300000-fans-demand-it/?utm_source=nrel1

so if you're interested in great first person shooters (well, TS2 and 3 are, I didn't like 1 so much), then please sign the petition at:

https://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/crytek-uk-create-a-timesplitters-hd-collection

So far there are 63,085 signatures, but they're hoping for 300,000, so please sign it if you're at all interested in a Timesplitters remake.

* The map makers in these games are very easy to use, but not too feature laden, and the bots could use them with no problems. In a remake, they'd hopefully add more pieces/items/trigger points/etc, and they could get rid of the map maker's size and storage limits too (as it stands, all three versions of each game (for the XBox, PS2, and Gamecube) all only allow small maps with not too many features to be made, as the intention was to make the maps compatible with all three consoles, so they wrote for the lowest memory pool (the PS2). With a 360/PS3/PC version, they could of course set the limit so high that it almost didn't exist in real terms, and all three platforms could cope. Oh, and hopefully they'd add more textures to the map maker too, ideally everything from the full games.

*signed* ^_^

That's very cool... that the devs have actually put a step forward to make this promise!
Sadly, I can't play FPS games without a serious bout of nausea or dose of dramamine, but I'd still most likely buy this if/when it gets made!
Now Playing: Clash Royale (mobile), Gravity Rush 2, Rayman Legends, Project CARS, Uncharted 4 Survival Mode ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

Oh, you really should play Timesplitters: Future Perfect, to me it's the best one. Unlike the other two, it has a coherent storyline, in which you always play the same character (Cortez), and are often accompanied by a level specific side-kick, but don't worry, they know how to look after themseves, and don't run into your bullets or get themselves killed thereby causing you to fail the level. Plus there are some really funny bits in the game - how many first person shooters make you laugh out loud?

Whilst TS:FP has probably the best single player mode (I think it has, some people prefer TS2's), the mulatiplayer isn't as clear cut to me - in some ways it's better than TS2's, in some ways it's inferior. On the plus side, I really like some of the game mode changes, the map maker is easier to use (you don't have to match up colour coded entrances now) and now allows you to have open skies and (if you choose) rain or snow, but on the minus side, I think that TS2 had the overall better standalone multiplayer maps (Chasm, Streets, Nightclub, etc) though TS:FP has some great ones too, but TS2 has three selectable game speeds, which TS:FP lacks, plus in the otherwise fantastic TS:FP map maker, I don't really like most of the themes (the graphical styles) as much as I like TS's Victorian or Industral themes.

Also, the graphics in TS:FP are a lot better than in TS2. Plus nowadays you don't get games like the Timesplitters style, where fun is put above 'realism' like weapon carrying limits and cutscense every eight seconds. So I'd definitely recommend TS:FP to you and anyone else who likes the other TS games, and nowadays of course it'll cost next to nothing to pick up a copy.

Petition update: There are now 70,191 signatures, though as far as I know (and I hope I'm wrong) there's been no official statement about releasing the trilogy again.
