Here's the collection so far

I'm in Scotland so everything is PAL.

I now have a complete 243 cart PAL set so starting another one :)

They are cart only, I have a few manuals and boxes but not many.

I started by buying a console with Goldeneye at a boot sale for £10 ($16), after seeing it sitting there and having all the memories flood back as I had a 64 years ago when they first came out.

Since then I've been just buying up bundles to increase my game numbers and selling on the extra gear I don't need, which seems to be the cheap way to do it.

Also have an old SNES and a few games I've had since it was new :yeah:

Will update it as I add to it and get some pics!

Consoles
3 x Grey PAL (Exp Pack)
1 x Grey NTSC JP (Exp Pack)
1 x Clear Green PAL (Exp Pack)
1 x Clear Purple PAL (Exp Pack)
1 x Clear Blue/White PAL (Exp pack)

Controllers:
11 x Grey
1 x Yellow
1 x Black
3 x Blue
3 x Green
1 x Clear Green
1 x Clear Blue/White
1 x Black/Grey (possibly Mario Kart style controller, it came with an NTSC console and JP Mario Kart game)
2 x Vortex controllers (InterAct)

PAL Collection No.1 Complete

PAL Collection No.2

NTSC Collection

Doubles To Trade

SNES Games

Just to build it up with some more games I can play.

When I had the Nintendo 64 first time around I think I only had 6 games for it....

Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Mario Kart, International Superstar Soccer, Clayfighter.

I like the 4 player multiplayer games, great fun, so if anyone knows of any other good ones not on that list please let me know.

A lot of the games I have i'll never play, Rugrats etc just isn't my thing

But i'll keep picking them up as I go and see how it progresses.. I buy the odd one on eBay thats cheap if I haven't got it even though they might not be up to much as game :)

Would like Conker's Bad Fur Day though, it looks fun but quite expensive!
Scooter, just noticed your sig..

Is that how many PAL games there are? 243?

Nice collection there, Highlander! Looking forward to those pics!
I too only really collected N64 games based on my intent to play them... never beyond that. (And as such, I'd long completed my N64 collecting!)
Now Playing: Clash Royale (mobile), Rayman Legends, Fat Princess Adventures, Project CARS, Uncharted 4 Survival Mode ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

Not long at all, just 3 or 4 months..

Luckily i've been able to pick up a couple of large bundles very cheaply which helped raise the game count a lot!

Managed to find a console, 4 controllers and 30+ games for sale in the local paper for £30 (about $48) and another one with 24 games for £40 :yeah:

****EDIT****

Just bought another 16 game bundle on eBay for £28 delivered

Some doubles but well worth the price.

I think I've caught the collecting bug!

Currently the collection has just reached halfway at 122 out of the 243 available PAL games so I'm going to go for it! :w00t:

Are there any super rare PAL carts I might struggle with?

Looks like I may have to pay good money for Conkers Dad Fur Day, are there any more that may be expensive?

I have all three Mario Party carts already.

Resident Evil seems to go for a good price as does Majora's Mask

Any more pitfalls ahead?

Starcraft 64 and Snowboard Kids 2 (Australia only releases) and the UKV version of Shadowgate are very difficult to find for a reasonable price.

Cheers MK

I need to slow down a bit, I've been buying up a lot of cheap games on eBay that I hadn't got and I've twice now bought games I already have!! :w00t:

A lot of games for sale for £2 or less on eBay but i guess these are the very common ones.

That sounds a good idea!

I've been working off my list but I only update it once a new game arrives so i've ended up buying them twice!

Yeah and I only have carts!

God only knows how you guys with boxes manage :)

Need a shelf arrangement I think, will need to start looking for something suitable.
I've had a reality check on the whole 243 PAL collection idea...

Much as i'd like to collect the whole set, some of the carts are going to be just too expensive for me to justify.

I could buy them if I REALLY wanted/had to BUT.....

I've been watching the Conker's Bad Fur Day carts only on eBay for a while, for the last few months they seem to be selling for up to £70 ($110) over here, I could just about justify that as it looks to be be a great game.

But spending £100 plus (or more) on a rarer game which may not even be good to play just for the sake of a complete collection is a step too far for me.

I'll keep adding to my collection, I have quite a few of the cheaper games still to pick up BUT unless I find some real hidden treasures at boot sales, or the prices come down etc I don't think i'll be completing it anytime soon!

Yeah it's a tough one mate. Some of those games sell for silly prices and buying them just to sit on your shelf mostly seems like a bit of a waste of money.

If you look around you can sometimes snare a game for less than market value. A few months I got a copy of Starcraft 64 for about $60AUD which is pretty cheap over here. Haven't seen it go that cheap since.

IMO it's all getting a bit silly with price rises by some of these sellers. People trying to bump the price on stuff, but hey if people are that desperate and have the money then they'll buy them.

By the time you get to the higher priced ones you can save and get them if you really want to complete your set. It's not like there not out there it's just going to hurt your wallet a bit.

Just remember its not a race and you dont have to buy the expensive ones straight away. I'm trying to bid my time and maybe I will get luck, I have in the past and I'm sure I will again.
