I just wanted to see what you guys consider to be the best GameCube games to own. I have a Wii and would like to expand my GC collection and just don't know what to look for beyond the few I already own. Any suggestions? Here is the list of GC games I own:

Animal Crossing
Metroid Prime
Starfox Adventures
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Star Wars: Rogue Leader

I know I want TLoZ: Wind Waker, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Luigi's Mansion and possibly the Pikmin games. Anything else I should shoot for? Thanks for your input.

EDIT: I forgot about Super Mario Sunshine. I definitely want that as well.

also check:
Wave Race - Blue Storm (overall not quite as good as the N64 game, but still very good nevertheless)
F-Zero GX (though i prefer F-Zero X on the N64, or all the Wipeouts on the PSX over it)
Resident Evil Remake
Resident Evil 4 (in case you don't already own it for Wii)

and also a few games ported from Dreamcast:
Ikaruga
Crazy Taxi
Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II (not possible to go online on a Wii console though)
Sonic Adventure DX
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle
Skies of Arcadia Legends
Resident Evil Code Veronica

edit:
Mk II has been quicker! :phear:

I think most of the good ones have already been mentioned.

I personally prefer Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 over the fourth one.

I have several of the Tony Hawk games on the PS2 but there are a lot of great titles on these lists, some of which I had forgotten about and some that I'd never heard of. In fact, I'm after copies of the Baten Kaitos games and Eternal Darkness on eBay as we speak. Thanks for the input, guys!

Pikmin 2
Super Monkey Ball 2
Metroid Prime 2
Paper Mario 2: (The Thousand Year Door)

These sequels top the originals and they're some of the best for the console. The creativity will expand your taste in video games.
The Metroid Prime series on the GameCube is jaw-dropping. So much effort was put forth, let's put it this way: it's what my childhood was missing. lol

Also if you never owned a genesis like me, the Sonic Mega Collection is a must have! See what all the hype was about back in the day!

Eternal Darkness was (and still is) one of the best games with the most unique storyline I've ever played. And genuninely scary in places. Fab game.

Paper Mario 2: (The Thousand Year Door)

No no no, in my eyes Paper Mario (N64) is so much better. If you have played both or better to say the N64 version before, everything seems to be the same, just a bit less exciting. Especially running from A to B to C to D to ... is far too much for my taste on Game Cube.

But nevertheless: Thousand Year Door is a good game.
:n64: = :)
Always many PAL games for sale:

I had to look this up when I saw it to see if it had anything to do with the M.U.S.C.L.E. toyline I had figures from in the late 80s and it does! How hilarious! I'll have to look into that game now. :P

Yeah, Metroid Prime is an amazing game, except for the horrible, non-adjustable control scheme making it unplayable (for me, at least).

Dreams of Dreamcast
Everyone needs to buy Megaman Anniversary Collection and Megaman X Collection if they have a Gamecube, and other games that are amazing on Gamecube are Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes, and Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, and Sonic Heroes. I recommend SA and SA2 mostly because the Gamecube versions are so much better than the Dreamcast ones.

More good choices. I love the MGS Twin Snakes one, another game I had forgot about. Thanks for the ideas!

In other news, while I was waiting on a response from an eBay seller of Eternal Darkness about combined shipping (I bought his Baten Kaitos), someone else bought the game. I are sad. :(

+1 for the Pikmin series. One of my favs, though I actually preferred the 1st. The 2nd had a lot of cool new additions, but the underground caves bored me out.

It is certainly a blast to play. It's one of AKI's last games using their splendid engine. Def Jam Fight for New York takes the engine for a different spin so they are totally different styles of play. Suffice to say if you like the MUSCLE franchise, you will love this game. I do not think everyone from the MUSCLE 1980s roster made it though. The popular ones do show up.

My favorite original series for the GC! The exclusion of the timed element in the second one I thought was an improvement, in the first game you really had to be cautious with your pikmin, but in the second one you were allowed some breathing room and I took advantage of the limitless days and burned through pikmin like crazy. ha. Going overboard with the Pikmin in the sequel was a major plus for me, because it gave you a feeling as if you were the leader of an ant-hive, an original control scheme that was further expanded upon. Felt the story of the first game was carried out better, but the enemy logs and 2P mode was also a generous touch by Nintendo. I like Captain Olimar, it's going to be almost a decade since his last adventure, and the third installment will be coming out for the Wii U, let's hope it blows our minds!

MEELLLEEEEEEEE

Also Killer 7 deserves a mention. Look it up first to get an idea of the game, though; it's an odd one.

Oh, and Super Mario Strikers is my favorite of all the Mario sports games.

Ooh, yeah Mario Strikers was damn good.
For multiplayer that is.

If ya after some RPGs, Skies of Arcadia and Tales of Symphonia are both very good.

I actually found it fun enough to regularly play the CPUs, which is very rare for those kinds of games. They were actually challenging without having too many unfair mechanical advantages (well, except the robot team, but luckily you didn't have to play against them too often, IIRC).

Or if it's racers you want then you can't go wrong with Mario Kart Double Dash, Burnout 2 Point of Impact or ATV 2. All really fantastic.

F-Zero GX is the most intense racing game I know. If you want something with a ludicrous skillcap that feels fast as all hell, find it ASAP.

Anyone have an opinion on whether Skies of Arcadia Legends on the 'Cube is the better bet over Skies of Arcadia for the Dreamcast? They both seem to hover around the same price on eBay.

What is the story with Four Swords Adventures? It looks like Link to the Past but on GameCube and with the option for multiplayer. Is that accurate at all? Is it worth picking up if I'll never play with other people?

It doesnt require multiplayer, and you control all 4 links at once. it has puzzle elements that require you to use all 4. Its a pretty fun game, but really just feels like a gameboy advance game.

Thanks for that, Norcal. I took a look at I-Ninja on GameFAQs and I really like it's visual style. Could be worth a look.
