I'm just waiting for the pre-order to become available on Amazon. Not a big fighting game enthusiast but I did play a lot of one of them back in the early 90s on SNES and it just seems like it will be worth it in the long run, especially with this news about Ultra SF IV. |

If you pre-order the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection and download the digital version of Ultra SF IV, you'll end up having access to five online enabled Street Fighter games. That's nut!

I don't think so and it's a shame too because Ultra SF IV plays brilliantly and has a huge roster of characters. I got Ultra SF IV for my PS4 when the PlayStation store had it on sale for just 10 bucks and I'm really glad I did. Even though Street Fighter V is out there are still plenty of people playing USFIV online which is completely understandable since the game is so much fun. To be totally honest, the only game in the 30th Anniversary Collection I really want to play again is probably Street Fighter Alpha 3 since I don't feel I played it enough when it originally came out. Me and my friends were too busy playing 3D fighters like Tekken 3 at the time. |

Totally agree concerning Ultra Street Fighter 4. Compared to 5, the roster just feels more complete. All of the essentials from Alpha, 2 AND 3 and a few fun extras too

I'm probably in the minority but I think Ultra Street Fighter IV is arguably the high-water mark for the franchise. When you take off the nostalgia goggles you realize that gameplay-wise Ultra SF IV does everything better than all the SF titles that came before it. Also, since Street Fighter V isn't a complete game yet, Ultra SF IV at this time comes closest to being the ultimate expression of the series complete with official online play. |

As a filthy casual I prefer SFxTekken on my Vita, unless we're going olde tyme, in which case I move toward X-Men vs Street Fighter on the Saturn. |

Just a little bit of reminiscing here: Me and my friend Doug always used to prefer playing Street Fighter II Turbo instead of Super Street Fighter II on the SNES. Yeah we liked the extra characters that Super had but we felt that the slower game speed made for a less enjoyable experience. It wasn't until years later that I discovered Super also allows you to up the speed but that option doesn't appear in the menu. For some crazy reason Capcom put that setting right on the main screen. Since I bought my copy of SSF II used without an instruction booklet I had no idea I could do that. By the way, has anybody here pre-ordered their copy of the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection yet? If so please share what system you're getting it for. |

I will be pre-ordering for the PS4 as soon as it is available to do so on Amazon. I'm signed up to be e-mailed when it goes live for them. I'm looking forward to feeling some early 90s nostalgia and remembering how much I suck at fighting games.

As much as I go on about fighting games you'd think that I'm masterful at them but I'm really not. That's what online teaches you really quick - no matter how good you are at a game, there's always somebody out there who's substantially better. I play Street Fighter V online whenever I'm not playing the boots-off-the-ground Call of Duty titles (Black Ops III and Infinite Warfare) and I get my butt handed to me more often than not. It's okay, though, because the fight money I earn tends to make the crushing blows to my ego seem worthwhile. Undoubtedly I'm going to get the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection for my PS4 but at the moment I'm having a hard time deciding if I want to go physical or digital. Owning the disc would be nice but digital is so much more convenient that I'd probably play it more if I go that route. Having the digital version of Ultra Street Fighter IV on my PS4's hard-drive is probably why I still play it occasionally even though more people seem to be playing V online making for greater opponent variety. Of course, once Capcom gives Ultra Street Fighter IV away for free I expect online will be full of fresh new pugilists to test my unconventional Dhalsim combos on.

I was finally just able to get my pre-order in for the 30th Anniversary Collection on Amazon. Will end up being around $35 for me with my Amazon Prime savings. |

The Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection represents amazing value to anyone who is even mildly a Street Fighter fan. The ability to play Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter II Turbo, Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike online is merely icing on the cake. |

I've been completely consumed by all things Street Fighter as of late. For that reason I decided to start playing the Sega Genesis Street Fighter II titles on my Wii via the Virtual Console. The VC ports of Street Fighter II: Champion Edition and Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers are quite nice and feel different enough from their SNES counterparts to hold my interest until I get the arcade originals in the 30th anniversary collection. Hopefully all this play time with the Genesis iterations will help when I start playing online at the end of next month. Remember folks, the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection will let you play these four games online. 1) Street Fighter II: Hyper Fighting 2) Super Street Fighter II Turbo 3) Street Fighter Alpha 3 4) Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike |
