I'm thinking games from the 80s and 90s or even the early 00s. Games like Blade Runner, Sanitarium, the Myst series. I loved all of those and others, like The X-Files game, the Phantasmagoria games, Unreal and the original You Don't Know Jack series. You can find a lot of these games on eBay but also available for download on sites like www.gog.com. You still have to pay a little but you get a version that is compatible with newer operating systems. I've had an issue getting some of my original PC copies to install on newer computers. Anyone have any old PC favorites that you still play to this day? I'm always looking for something different in the point and click adventure style.

Oh yeah, Wolfenstein! That reminds me that I forgot about the Doom games. Classic FPS.

I also forgot to mention the Broken Sword series and the Monkey Island games. Good stuff.

System Shock 2, a fantastic first person shooter/RPG, in some ways still the best game of it's type. Also, the original System Shock.

Deus Ex, my favourite PC game ever, and is basically a more accessible System Shock 2; DE is more first person shooter, whereas SS2 is more first person survival horror.

Unreal Tournament (original, 1999, version) still my favourite PC multiplayer FPS.

Unreal Tournament 2004 (I don't like UT2003 or UT3).

No One Lives Forever 1 and 2 (especially 2, which like Deus Ex and System Shock 2 has RPG elements).

Elderscrolls 3: Morrowind (much deeper than Oblivion or Skyrim, but a lot harder for new RPG players).

Carmageddon (and the Splat Pack!, which is also brilliant). Carmageddon 2 is good too, though not nearly as good as the first. I didn't like Carmageddon 3.

Half-Life, Half-Life 2, and the commercial addons Opposing Force and HL2: Episode 2. I didn't like Blue Shift or HL2: Episode 1.

Alien vs Predator (the 2000 PC version, not any of the prequels, or the Atari Jaguar version).

Doom and Doom 2 (I don't like Doom 3).

Duke Nukem 3D and Shadow Warrior (but not Duke Nukem Forever).

GTA Vice City and GTA: San Andreas.

And most of these games have great, free, mods available for them too. For details, see http://www.moddb.com/

The games that I remember playing the most were Dune, Wolfenstein, Doom, Alien Doom (that game was awesome), Command & Conquer.

There were a lot of good games that came out in the 80's and early 90's that I played. Most of that era for me is a blur, so these are the only one's that I recall.

Some of the others mentioned do ring a bell tho. :yeah:

Dreams of Dreamcast
Deus Ex, Half-Life, Counter-Strike, other older Valve games (before HL2), Doom II, Sim City/Maxis games, Max Payne, and Quake (II and III as well). Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. I still actually play most of these fairly often, or at least Counter-Strike.

Holy crap, how does one walk in that room! :w00t: Super cool, though. How awesome would it be to have part of your collection under a clear floor? Obviously stuff you wouldn't want easy access to but have the ability to stroll across it at any given time.
