N64 collection completed 7/29/12

I'm uploading this file for y'all to use as a checklist for GameCube collecting. This is something I made a few months back and I've been trying to make one of these for each console (currently working on the PSX one). This spreadsheet can also be used as a template so if you know all the games for a console in your region, just replace the ones in my list with your own. That should solve all the region differences, or console differences if you feel like doing me a favor. This is a work in progress but I'm uploading it per request. GameCube collecting spreadsheet The thing that makes this spreadsheet awesome is that all you have to do is put an X in the boxes for CIB and it'll do the calculations for you. - Put an X under C for CD/Cartridge - Put an X under I for Instructions/Inserts - Put an X under B for Box - An X under C (column D) will put a check in the first column, which will display the total number of games you own in the top and bottom corner of column A. - It will also show you how many games you have out of the total number for the console at the bottom of column B. - Column C will show you the percentage of completion you have for the console. - An X under I (column E) will add towards the total number of instructional manuals you have, which is shown at the bottom of column E. - The bottom of column F will show you how many games you have that are missing the manual. Row 555 will read like this: A = total, E = with manual, F = no manual. - Column G will list all of the games you have that do not have manuals. This was done to make it easier to spot, and so you can easily copy them into a list elsewhere if you need to. Feel free to mess around with the spreadsheet and tweak it any way you'd like. I know a fair bit about Excel, but I'm still learning so any input is greatly appreciated. And by the way, the reason I didn't make an N64 spreadsheet to present to the forum is because I already capped off the collection and moved onto GameCube by the time I thought of doing this. But it shouldn't be too hard to replace the 553 with 296 and replace the games listed. It's so easy that you can do this with any console if you have the right list of games. Enjoy and give me some input!! EDIT: I forgot to mention that I also put in the ability for you to write N-E-W across CIB if your game is still sealed and you'd like to note it as such. It will read NEW as if it were an X. Edited by Alice Lawless, Feb 2 2013, 12:01 AM.

Looks pretty good there, Stik! My only (super minor) suggestion would be to highlight cell C2 (or row 2) and freeze panes... that way the header row (and column if you do C2) stays visible no matter how far down/right you scroll. I did something similar for JP-exclusive N64 games waaaaaaay back in the day... but using a PHP database. I remember being amazed at how easily the XLS spreadsheet I started with imported over!! |

Alrighty, I froze the header in Row 1 (I wanted to freeze Rows 1 and 555, but it's fine) and I added a thick boarder around CIB to make it easier to read. |

Yeah... I don't know of any way to freeze a row at the bottom of the screen. (yet) It would probably be even less practical, but you could always create a "summary" tab on a new worksheet. Your formulas would only have to be slightly different, such as... =COUNTIF(GameCube!A1:A555,"X") ="TOTAL: " & GameCube!A1 & " / 553" etcetera... ... but now that I'm thinking about it... I suppose this way, you could combine all your systems' spreadsheets into one XLSX file with multiple tabs, that way you could have all the summaries on one easy to view tab. (...or maybe you've already done this and I'm just stating the obvious... )
