Sweet... thanks Matt... gonna add you when I get home! :w00t:
And as for the friends list... this vid seems to show what I think you need:

LBPV is awesome... definitely the definitive version of the game!! :yeah:

@Yogurt... I haven't picked up PSASBR (Sony SSB has a much better ring to it!)... but I'll probably get it soon, at which point it'd be sweet to get in some bouts!! ^_^
Now Playing: Clash Royale (mobile), Gravity Rush 2, Rayman Legends, Project CARS, Uncharted 4 Survival Mode ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

Hey all!

Vita owner here as well! I truly wish the best for this system. I've picked this over the 3DS for the same reason I picked up a PSP instead of a DS:

Game-centric target audience.

The Playstation brand (as of late, more than before) seems to have amazing exclusive titles on ALL of it's systems, and though Nintendo has age-old mascots that are continually rebooted, I...

NOTE: THE FOLLOWING MAY OFFEND YOU IF YOU ARE A NINTENDO FANBOY (FANBOY, NOT FAN)

I absolutely don't understand how Nintendo can STILL get away with recycling the same character again and again today. Sure, they're iconic, they're memorable, but they're played and tried.

I think Nintendo NEEDS to come up with something new, or their targetted 'casual market' will be lost when everyone buys ipods and ipads.

Hell yes man :D

For all the negativity said about All-Stars, it really is ALOT of fun. I've probably got hundreds of hours on it already

Any suggestions on what to pick up?
All stars is tempting me, even more so with the cross buy but I get the feeling will become a PS+ title very fast.

I've been quite... QUITE happy with my Vita, ever since launch. Everyone says how it has such an empty library, but even though 75% of the gaming I do these days is exclusively on the Vita, my Vita backlog has only been growing. PS+ hasn't exactly been helpful there either. ;) (And I already had 4 of 6 original instant game collection freebies offered!)

The instant game collection is full of winners... I loved WipEout 2048 & Mutant Blobs Attack. Outside of the instant game collection, I'd recommend Rayman Origins if you're in the mood for a gorgeous 2D platformer, Lumines: Electronic Symphony for puzzle, and Dokuro for puzzle platformer. Motorstorm RC was kinda fun... a nice callback to those old-school Micromachines games.

I haven't played them yet, but in my backlog queue (how embarrassing!) I've got:
Assassin's Creed III: Liberation
Persona 4 Golden
SoundShapes
Super Stardust Delta
StarDrone Extreme
Retro City Rampage
Sunflowers
Pulzar
Chronovolt

If you're keen on not spending anything, Jetpack Joyride is free on the PSN, and on the PS Mobile section of the PS Store (when it's back online), there's Lemmings, Bullion Blast, Everybody's Arcade (or something like that), and Samurai Beatdown, all for free!!
Now Playing: Clash Royale (mobile), Gravity Rush 2, Rayman Legends, Project CARS, Uncharted 4 Survival Mode ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

I was considering rayman for a while, but since playing the PC version of Origins I'm not sure I'll like it, Persona 4 is really tempting me and I'm currently playing the first game through on the vita but not keen on importing.
Kinda wanna get BlazBlue and UMvC3 asweell

I keep forgetting that you're not in the US... >_<
So obviously the PSN/PS+ freebies might be different for the UK.

Thanks Joker!
And yeah... there's actually quite a few games out for Vita worth looking into!! What kind of games do you like?

In any case, for adventure/platforming games, I'd recommend...
LittleBigPlanet
Uncharted: Golden Abyss
Gravity Rush
Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack
Rayman Origins

if you like entrancing puzzle games:
Lumines: Electronic Symphony

or slower paced puzzle/platforming games:
Dokuro
Escape Plan

excellent F-Zero-esque futuristic racing:
WipEout 2048

and... as far as games I have but haven't played yet, I've heard great things about:
Assassin's Creed: Liberation
Super Stardust: Delta
Persona 4: Golden
Sound Shapes (I think this is even a cross-buy title)

Speaking of which... there's a growing selection of cross-buy games, which means you get the (essentially identical) Vita version for free when you buy the PS3 version (or vice-versa). The big ones that come to mind right now are:
Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale
Retro City Rampage
Sly Cooper 4
Now Playing: Clash Royale (mobile), Gravity Rush 2, Rayman Legends, Project CARS, Uncharted 4 Survival Mode ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

Hey all, I was wondering how many of you had the ps vita and is it any good? I had a PSP a couple years back and wasn't all that impressed. I am going east for a week and was wondering if how good the games are on it. I'm not big into handheld games but some of the games seem like they may actually be good. Opinions?

Hey Brodieman!
So yeah, as much as everyone else might believe, there are PS Vita owners out in the wild... and that there's at least a small handful of us here on the forum! I'm obviously one of them, and suffice it to say, I'm a proud and happy one. ^_^

I was never a big PSP fan (ended up using it to watch downloaded mp4 movies more than playing games)... nor really a handheld one for that matter, though I definitely logged some SERIOUS hours on my DS Lite. Also, I have never in my life bought a system on launch day, either. In spite of all this, I had pre-ordered a PS Vita, which landed me the little handheld even a week before launch thanks to the Amazon promotion.

I think my excitement for the system really all came down to Uncharted: Golden Abyss & WipEout 2048. Two new exclusive games from two franchises I'm a pretty BIG fan of. Both games were pretty critically well-received (though not unanimously acclaimed), and neither had disappointed me in the LEAST. :D

But since then, there hasn't been any big-name, big-budget releases, so everyone talks about how there's no games for the system. I think they're WRONG. I've definitely logged more time on my Vita this last year than all the other systems I own.

I'll admit that my Vita never even leaves the house. But I'm on it all the time, if not playing games, then surfing the web, just as my partner does on the iPad. (Though the iPad is much better for this, the Vita browser is actually functional, unlike the PSP browser.) I haven't much used the other media features offered... but they're there, and more-or-less functional. The camera is probably the worst of these in specs, but it's not what people are supposed to buy this for. The proprietary memory cards are annoying and annoyingly expensive, but since throwing down for a 32GB card, I've actually been quite happy and haven't once looked back.

Anyways... those are my thoughts... take them or leave them, if you will. :)

I suggest going for a vita aswell, I got mine when LittleBigPlanet came out but never really used it (I didn't even sync my PSN account!), however at Christmas I got given a PSN card and decided to try out the vita and subbed to PS+ a year, i've been using it pretty much daily since then.

The Vita is loads of fun! It's a fairly massive investment given the price tag, but to be honest, what do you expect from what's practically a portable PS3?

The games thus far are not that numerous, but of SOLID quality. Gravity Rush, Uncharted, LittlebigPlanet amongst others. Japan also has plenty of exclusive titles that have gotten rave reviews. By the way, NO region locking for Vita software :)

It's all up to you, but this is imo the perfect handheld to just keep in a bag pocket and rock out whenever you need to throw some time out the window :yeah:

If you don't have a 3DS yet then yes the Vita is a fairly good machine just not as much software as people have hoped. I don't see the point in the watered down PS3 titles might as well play those on the PS3 but the exclusives are good.

Sony has lowered the price of the Vita in Japan today so it might be smart to wait if the USA follows suit.

For sure! It's gotta be right around the corner with the Vita just getting 1 year old. Heck, they may even offer a more expensive bundle of a Vita+PS3 or PS4 or something if they really want to push the thing into more players' hands

Its actually possible to play PS3 games via remote play, works pretty well aswell
Requires CFW on your PS3 though, not sure why sony haven't made it offical yet

Yeah.

Sony said it was the plan originally when the demo'd Killzone 3 being remote played on a Vita (with the PS3 doing the processing and only sending it through stream), but Sony ditched the idea.

My guess? Who'd buy Vita-only games if you can just bust out your PS3 games anywhere?

But then, with that logic, why make it the goal with the PS4 still?

<_<

The truth is, the Vita is still struggling to pick up... and the fact that Sony stresses this connectivity should be a pretty good indication to everyone that the Vita is here to stay, and that it will be integral in the next generation of (handheld AND console) gaming.

When the Vita succeeds, more devs/publishers will support it, meaning more games coming to the Vita, exclusive or not!!

That's good to hear!! :w00t:
It's such a great little piece of technology... really, the vast majority of current PS Vita owners (few as they may be) are quite happy, from what it sounds like. And all the game journalism outlets seem to unanimously praise the handheld itself, despite the lame memory card situation.

I'm excited to get into PSASBR, and have the exact same experience on both the PSV & PS3.

Kind of a shame they didn't announce any sort of price cut... even if just to the proprietary memory cards. >_<

For sure, a price cut is in absolute order now.

I had waited for a 'Giga Pack' to come out when I got my PSP, and that had included a 1Gb memory card (which sold 79.99 seperately) instead of the crappy i think it was 32mb card.

Maybe they could do that? Here, have a 32GB card for free with the vita. That'd work I think.

Agreed!!
The 4GB card is near-unusable it's so small. 32GB has been perfect... but terribly overpriced (even at the $81 I purchased it at).

At least with the PSP, they had the MemStick Pro Duo adapter that allowed you to use standard MicroSD cards for the PSP.
