Wave Race 64 challenge

I've been getting more and more into this game just for fun recently and have most of my times down to within a couple or few seconds from the claimed world records. Does anyone want to challange my times? I could use some people to play with to help encourage me to improve, my room mate I play smash with just doesn't want to get into this. If there are any takers, we can post pics of fast times and such. Just a thought.

Sure why not. Post your times and let's see what we can do.

BTW, I'm a huge fan of Wave Race 64 as I've gone as far as to collect the Japanese re-release which added Rumble Pak support. I have the Wii Virtual Console version too which looks magnificent in progressive scan and in 16:9 widescreen.

Awesome, i am sure you will have superior times to mine, seeing as you are an enthusiest and I have just picked it up again. I play both VC (using a GC controller) and N64 (using a Hori pad) on a CRT tv and my times still have lots of room for improvement. I'll post pics later today when i have wifi and I'm not using cell data XD

Why don't we start with the first course Sunny Beach with all conditions set to default and on the normal difficulty setting? We can switch to hard when we get to Marine Fortress.

If YogurtStorm joins in it's all over. :P

So does everybody agree on default track conditions but the racer's attributes can be adjusted?

I say that the only ones I am going for are things that count as track records, so everything default and any difficulty. Here are my pics, some are already outdated and have been beaten by me but not by much... I am still watching videos trying to improve. All of these times are on N64

Times edited into subject post

I know they aren't AWESOME or anything so please refrain from the shitalk and help me improve instead?

EDIT: So these are all default track conditions on any difficulty, with any racer, using any tuning you want (NO CHEATING.. I know about the gameshark turbo crap. I used it when I was a kid ;) )

Shibbypod you win. You're our official Wave Race 64 master. All questions regarding the game will from this point forward be directed to you. This is obviously a great honor so don't let it go to your head. ;)

I feel sad, I was hoping i'd get some competition but this game does seem pretty obscure.

Most of my times were also with mariner, with the exceptions of Port Blue and Marine Fortress

Bluedog, are you shortcutting passed the last 3 bouys? You can get a fast 3rd lap on sunset by skipping a couple bouys and finishing the race from out of bounds

Also I just broke 1:10 on sunbay, with mariner
1:09.924 on NTSC Virtual Console

Both the n64 and the ps4 have 64 bit processors. Now I'm not saying the 64 could run crysis at 60 fps but I'm not saying it couldn't.

Hey guys, since I made this challenge I have been trying to contend with the world record holder on most of the courses a japanese player who goes by FireHawkRise. Surprisingly I am not all that far behinf him on many of the courses. If you are interested in seeing my current personal records, check out this photobucket album with the pictures of my fast times on each course. Shouldn't take but a minute to check it out.
