Birthday Celebration Time!

Hey everyone! As many of you may be aware, our beloved forum is approaching her 7th Birthday! Nintendo 64 Forever was founded on April 5th, 2006.

As part of the celebration we will be trying to break our "most users online at one time" record of 96. That is a lofty goal, but why not shoot for the stars? We have members from all over the world, so I would like to have 2 set times for everyone to try and log on. What we need is suggestions on a time, and perhaps someone who could volunteer to make sure people know what time to be on despite the varied timezones issue. Any takers on that?

Also, I will be launching a member survey topic on April 5th. I will be asking each and every member to please complete it in pm form to me. This survey will help this forum by giving area specific feedback, and showing what the majority wants in certain areas. You can weigh in on anything from forum structure, staff issues, or even any general complaints you have. It will be a little lengthy, but not too bad. My idea for this is simply out of a desire to make sure this place is the best it can be. I will also say that those who take the time to complete the survey will be listened to much more when our big feedback and suggestion gathering period starts in May. So get those wheels turning in your head for suggestions and complaints :yeah:

Lastly, we are open to suggestions for any other celebration ideas. Anybody?

Please forgive me for any typos as this was written on my phone while riding in a car

Breaking he record, that will be great. Maybe we can work out what everyone's time zones are and set them in lots of 2 like you suggested.

I'm thinking maybe once in the morning US time and once at night US time. A list of locations and times for various times would be great.

I sent you a pm with my thoughts, Bane.

I was thinking mid day US central time for one, and mid day Australia for another. These two contries seem to house most of our members. Our European friends fit in between these two, and our few Asian members are somewhat close to Australia.

Just my thoughts thoughs.

Also, a little cheat tip. If members have multiple devices, you can be on as a guest on those for extra numbers. Our record of 96 included MANY guests, so I don't really see this as cheating really

Cheating, I like it. There's a couple of more computers in the office that I can set up too. This record is gone.

OK, not getting a whole lot of feedback here, I hope that isn't a bad sign??? Anyhow, One time will be 11:00 AM central time here in the US. The other will be at 11:00 in Sydney (Hobart zone I believe Bane told me). The date is April 5th!. I will post later tonight or tomorrow showing how that translates to our other members here.

Big thanks to member, Bane for volunteering for the time zone help :yeah:
This is list came from Bane, I reworked it a bit to change his numbers to match for 11:00 instead of 10:00 like I had originally talked about.

For 11:00 AM in Sydney

US Eastern time - 15 Hours Behind/8:00PM April 4th
US Pacific - 18 Hours Behind/ 5:00PM April 4th
US Mountain - 17 Hours Behind/ 6:00 PM April 4th
US Central - 16 Hours/ 7:00PM April 4th

Netherlands - 10 Hours Behind/ 1:00AM April 5th
New Zealand - 2 Hours Ahead/ 1:00PM April 5th
Paris - 10 Hours Behind/ 1:00AM April 5th
Japan - 2 Hours Behind 9:00AM April 5th
Germany - 10 Hours Behind/ 1:00AM April 5th

I will try to get the inverse of that up for you guys soon for the US time one. I will make an announcement across all sections after that to make sure people know to try. The international dateline is a touch confusing for me. I keep getting confused as to whether it is the 5th or not for our European members. I am pretty sure it is. Can anybody say for sure. I would hate to be wrong on that one.

We certainly appreciate the support. For the 11:00 US time, I will only be on with 1 device. For the 11:00 Aussie time, I will be one with hopefully 4!

May I make a suggestion that we also include UK time, just because it's an hour behind all the countries in Europe that have been mentioned.
