Recently got a black DS Lite, along with Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and Animal Crossing Wild World. Do you think I should get a screen protector for the DS so the touch screen doesn't get scratched? Do they work pretty good or are they too cumbersome? |

I don't think so :\ A shame, seems like a nice box. Rapueda, when I got my DS I thought I just _had_ to get a screen protector, considering how scratched my previous PDAs' screen protectors were... but in the end, I forgot, and it never got really scratched or anything So it's really up to you - if you want to be safe do, but unless you play Oundan like a savage you should be fine really. |

My DS came with a free screen protector. It didn't seem to interfere with gameplay When the system was turned on, I only really noticed it was there if I thought about it. It did get some scratches on it, but that might be because it is made of a different material than the actual screen. They aren't that expensive though and so I'd play it safe, especially if you carry your DS around in your pocket all the time or something. |

Yes, yes, yes, yes, YES!!! Get a screen protector as soon as you can, otherwise you'll end up with scratches on the bottom screen. The protectors are almost invisible and you certainly don't notice them when playing. The only thing is that you need to be careful about is applying them, otherwise you'll have air bubbles on the screen. Even if you do mess up, the screen protectors can be removed fairly easily and can be replaced. Once they're in place they are very secure and do a great job. Some brands give you two screen protectors (one for the top and bottom screens). I've never bothered with the top one cos it's unlikely to ever get scratched. If you want I can post some close up photos of mine. The DS photos I posted in the other topic have a screen protector on the bottom screen... that gives you an idea of how invisible they are. Let me know if you want any other close up shots.
I know you want me too...

Yep, and it seems to be working well. The protector doesn't have any scratches on it yet, but I've only been playing Animal Crossing and mostly using the controls and not the stylus for it. The true test will be when I start playing Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and the screen takes more of a beating.

Is it a double post? Yes, but it's a new thing...completely! I just bought a buttload of games...mostly for the Genesis. Genesis: Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers Mortal Kombat I Mortal Kombat II Valis Valis III N64: Mario Party 2(call it an early Birthday gift) XBox: Fable Okay, well, for me, that IS a buttload. Combine that with a Lego item(20 bucks) and two Premium Packs(10 and 10 each), and all of the above, and that equals about 100 dollars. Yeah, I love it. |

Nah, I wouldn't be that dishonest. I explained that all the controllers were third party, which was reflected in the trade-in price for that controller; £2 or $4 US. If it had been an official controller I'd probably have got about £5/$10. |

As I've been putting in some pretty ridiculous work hours these last couple months, my wallet's been feeling a little hefty... and I've not even had the time to spend teh monies! Obviously, this is quite an unfamiliar state for me... and since the typical human attitude towards unfamiliarity is often one of disdain, or even fear, I've been working as hard as I could to bring myself back into my comfort zone of poverty. So... the recent steps I've taken were: pre-order Manhunt 2 pre-order Zack & Wiki pre-order Trauma Center: New Blood take advantage of ToYsЯus' recent buy 2 get one free game sale... THREE TIMES order more crap from play-asia (too lazy to try to remember & list everything from TЯU & play-asia... Picross DS is the important one here) reserve Mario Galaxy

I went to a flea market today and spent $35 on: Final Fantasy Anthology (PSX) (Greatest Hits) (Complete) Xenogears (PSX) (Greatest Hits) (Complete) Super Street Fighter II (SNES) Super NES Controller I found a guy who was selling his collection of games for decent prices. He had a complete regular version of Star Ocean: The Second Story for $40 but was willing to sell it for like $30, so I may go back for it next weekend. He also had FF: Mystic Quest and a few other worthy titles. |

That's an amazing price! FFAnthology complete easily fetches more than $35 and Xenogears isn't something to stick your nose up at. You have impeccable taste sir (at least in the ways that your taste is an imitation of mine). |

I figured you'd be the main person that would be interested in my purchases. So do you think I should go back and get Star Ocean: The Second Story? He also had FF: Mystic Quest for $12 and Breath of Fire IV for $10, but both were loose... And he had Two Worlds for $35...which is kind of weird considering it's a new title. Other than that there was a few other vendors that were selling games, but they wanted a ridiculous amount of money for their stuff ($50 for a N64, $10 for Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt)... |

The only reason who shouldn't is if you're put off by PS1 voice acting. The game itself is solid, the presentation is the only pitfall. Certainly among the ten best RPGs on PSX and that's saying a lot. Plus it has two different story lines (two playable characters). I played it three times. Clearly Rena > Claude. He also had FF: Mystic Quest for $12 and Breath of Fire IV for $10, but both were loose... Yes to BoF4. Don't get MQ if you're intending to play it -- it isn't fun. |
