Hit up the local car boot yesterday morning for the first time this year and managed to haul the following:

Boxed N64 with two official controllers and Goldeneye cart £8
Gamecube with broken disk drive (I will mod it to use SD loading) £1.50
Grand Theft Auto 4 Official game guide 30p

On the other hand, my two nephews (5 & 9) picked up a shed load of GBA, Xbox original and PS2 games.

Contacts are dirty but other that the cart is perfect as is the manual. Box is 8/10 as the front and back dip in. Anyone know a good way to fix this?

There was once a really good guide I saw on YouTube for restoring SNES/n64 games back to their original shape, but I can no longer find it.

First you have to open all the flaps out and flatten the box as much as you can, you then place it into a small water bath for a few seconds to get it wet but not soaked. Lightly dry it off with a towel and then place it between two sheets of aluminium (kitchen) foil. Finally put some heavy items (like big books) on top, making sure that the weight is distributed evenly over the whole box. After 2 weeks remove the weights and foil and your box should be re-shaped without the 'dips' and any creasing should also be improved.

I've yet to try this technique myself and I do wonder what effect the water would have on boxes' that have game stickers on the front... like official sports holograms, or game review blurbs. However I would recommend you try it with your Mission Impossible game as they are easy enough to come by and often cheap.

Folks!

when you want to reply to a post with pictures please do not quote the entire message with the Quote button.
It is totally unnessecary and makes the pages load very slowly!
Either select a bit of text and quote only that, or just enter your reply.

Today's arrivals:

A couple video games
Posted Image

And some more guides, of course, including a few new prized possessions that I feel especially proud of
Posted Image
Posted Image

These are the prize guides I mentioned. Not even a huge Soul Calibur fan but I was amazed to find these in such perfect condition and they each come with a game soundtrack inside their front covers. The books for SCII and III went for $0.99 apiece and then someone must have woke up and paid attention as a few bids popped up for SCIV and I got it for $5.50! Shipping? Free. :)

Today's arrivals:

Two games, including a PS2 game I'd never heard of and one of my most sought after PS1 games. It is without a manual but I managed to get one from http://shop.bresoftware.com/Posted Image

Some guides. Bought a Spider-Man 2 without realizing I already had a copy.
Posted Image

This was a 5 guide lot I picked up. It foreshadows the next lot which is full of one type of game I'm looking to track down guides for.
Posted Image

These are all guides from a big lot I bought from an eBay seller who was nice enough to hold the guides for a couple weeks after they didn't initially sell. The middle WCW Nitro guide is for PlayStation and is, sadly, missing the first 8 pages. Kind of disappointed about that but it was cheap.
Posted Image

And the rest of the lot, continuing the WWE/F theme. And yes, a second WWF Smackdown guide.

And today's arrivals:

One of those unusual auctions where you bid for no reason and don't expect to win and then, all of a sudden, you do! Oh well, glad to have the Castlevania game and my RE4 was the limited edition so it's cool to have the standard copy. The Ready 2 Rumble game is a big meh but I'll take it.

And more guides:

I was offered one with the cart at the weekends car boot for £10. I declined though, mainly as my misses gave me the look of "please, no!"

Just bought a copy of Black for PS2 in excellent condition for $1.50 from some neighbor kids having a yard sale. Right before that, they sold a working slim PS2 and controller to somebody for $10!
