Thanks for the tip on that website, Cabanon! :yeah:

@ jmacbear... $40 is a great deal for what you got, that would've been a great deal even back around 2006 when I was searching for it.

Anyways... here's my latest acquisitions...

... pretty much (finally!) lucked out on a very nice complete condition Rule of Rose... been looking for that off and on for about 2+ years, and it seems eBay prices for it have been on the sharp rise recently. >_<
Crazy how Atlus games tend to do that. <_<
Actually not really. Critical acclaim + low and/or single production runs = high resell value.

Been trying to get a mint JP Perfect Dark for a long time. Every copy always gets bid up over $50 for some reason and that generally doesn't happen for JP N64 games. I think it's the coolest box for the system, and I guess so do a lot of other people, haha.

Oh, you lucky dog, you! That is on my short list of sought after games that are always just a little out of my cost comfort zone. I'd so love to pick that up, plus Haunting Ground, but gotta wait until some of those prices come down. Nice score, floorcat! Color me jelly. :yeah:

Nice. My box has a different artwork. I think your box is the one that came in the expansion pack box (or maybe mine did - not quite sure). My box has a machinery style artwork (with the manual having the cover identical to your box).

I'm confused as well, the "machinery" style front is the one that comes with the expansion pack. However I've seen my box come with an expansion pack as well, although this one I bought does not. So I believe there is a big box edition (with my box front) which is twice the size of a normal JP N64 box. idk haha all are cool

Haha... thnx Red!! ^_^
Yeah... I was shocked to see less-than-perfect (water-damaged case artwork) copies go for ~$120!!

And yesssss... Haunting Ground! One of those under-the-radar games definitely worthy to pick up!
It was SO under-the-radar for me in fact, that I didn't realize I already owned a copy when I was looking for it (apparently, a second time!). Good thing I happened to look through my collection before shelling out for the game again!

Heya Yogurt! I'll leave it to you to notice the hidden imports I pick up... ;)

Yah... 忌火起草 (Imabiki Sou) I'll give it a spin after work today... my guess is that it's likely very text (and/or speech)-heavy, so you'd probably need to know a good bit of Japanese. :-/
Ah... actually just found a pretty informative review that should give you a good idea of what's involved:

That looks eerie as hell... If I had even a little Japanese knowledge I'd pick that up. Without it, I probably wouldn't even play it :(

Today I got my first batch of UGC's from a Nintendoage member as well as Sim City 2000 (JP)!

I also got a sealed Conker on Xbox but since I already posted it a few pages back, I won't be a broken record

Very cool UGC's but I'm wondering why does everyone go for the custom NTSC covers? Am I the only one that loves the original box art?

Also my 777th post :D Cool!

I have Sculptor's Cut in original horizontal style because it's the only game displayed beside the N64 (except for Conker). The others are vertical-styled because it looks nice & uniform when shelved :)

Recent arrivals:

I feel like I did pretty good here for $20 total, including shipping. I was trying to think of games I had picked up for previous gen systems that were also released on the 360 and I remembered Gun. I really love that game and it was my favorite Western themed game until Red Dead Redemption came along. Anyway, I now have it for PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360 and a GameCube copy is on the way. I'm building my own kind of Gun collection, hyuk hyuk!

That is a very cool looking box.

I wonder how well received Perfect Dark was in Japan, anybody know?

Here in the US it didn't sell as well as Nintendo expected and for that reason it was fairly common to find the game New in Box for under $10 up until just a couple years ago.

I've been looking into the JP version a lot lately and from what I can tell the reaction was average just as in the US due to the requirement of the expensive expansion pak and exhausting hype. Keep in mind it's release in JP was at the threshold of 2001, and all the attention was geared towards the new generation of consoles. In addition the title which was advertised in Japanese means "Red and Black" which is as baffling as can be... haha I imagine japanese gamers had no idea what to expect other than a Goldeneye 2. The gore was practically turned off and censored in the JP perfect dark as well, which prob hurt sales with the mature audiences. From the Wiki page: "The Japanese launch was a success, with the sale of 35,000 copies in the first week,[64] and 77,000 in total.[65] Worldwide, Perfect Dark sold 2.5 million copies"

I don't know, TNT... I'm reading the title on the Japanese box in your picture, and it's says... "Perfect Dark".
Well, technically, 「パーフェクトダーク」... which is a transliteration of "Perfect Dark".

Didn't buy it as much as get a code from the developers, but I got Duke Nukem 3D+ (Steam release of Duke Nukem 3D updated to work on modern PC's with all the expansion packs!)
Not sure when it will be released as a release date and price are currently not decided, but its a pretty good rerelease of the game and it was fun playing the expansions that I never got to before

Not on the box but original advertisements on poster and ads called the game "Red and Black" but they later corrected it just before release.
And kudos on your fluent Japanese, I am very jealous!

Kane & Lynch series is great. Also the Army of Two games are pretty good. Looking forward to the next installment of that series. A mate and I play both of those games when they come up. I really enjoy the 2 player co-op FPS.
