Think of me if you ever decide to sell it? :yeah:

Also bought a Wii for $4. Pretty good day.
Am I reading that right, you got a Nintendo Wii for only 4 dollars! :o

I've been thinking about trying to find an inexpensive one on the used market to give to my friend Doug as a gift. I figure if I get it for him he'll spring for Mario Kart Wii and we can race against each other on-line. I suspect he'd enjoy the Virtual Console version of Mario Kart 64 too since we played it so much back in the day.

Yeah, you had a fantastic day! So share with us the story of how you got that Wii so cheap.

It was at a garage sale, not too much story to it. Apparently it belong to the deceased son of the woman selling it, which was a bit odd. Had some virtual console games on it, though, and Punch Out was in the disc tray. Currently I'm just using it up here near my retro consoles since my launch Wii is downstairs in the living room.

Love the artwork, Scooter!

A few GBA games I've purchased (in new DS cases with GBA holders):

In printing the GBA covers, I learned that thecoverartproject.net was actually started for this very purpose.

Thanks, Red! Used first party cases and new third party cases are readily available on ebay. I opted for the latter; more cost effective and allows for better aesthetic presentation.

UPDATE: Here's what's inside:

There is a strip of plastic that must be removed for the manual to fit. It runs parallel to the top. Easily removed with a razor...no dremel required.

Every year we Dutch celebrate (the day formerly known as) Queen's Day by turning our towns and cities into one giant yard sale.
Needless to say, this is usually an excellent opportunity for collectors of any persuasion to find lots of nice things for very low prices.
And this year was no exception...

Best story of the day: i somehow spotted a Jungle Book themed carrying case for console & games. I asked the seller what he wanted... "8 euro, everything inside included".
I did not not know there was something inside the case so i took a quick peek.
I noticed a SNES controller and several games... I immediately shut the lid, quickly paid the man without any hagling and made off.
When i got home i took a closer look and there were two SNES controllers in good shape and no less than 9 games inside, including some sought-after titles that will sell for more tha i paid for the entire lot :yeah:

Best buy of the day: 15 Gameboy games, includng the rare Mr. Do!, 4 GBA games and 1 loose Mario Kart DS catridge for the princely (no pun intended) sum of three euro. :yeah: :yeah:

Gamecube black controller, Wavebird controller + receiver, Zelda OoT bonus disk, Thrustmaster FIFA controller (sealed) Nintendo 64 Clear / Blue console + controller, psu, av cable, Super Mario 64, 1080 Snowboarding, Buck Bumble, Lego Racers Wii Alone In The Dark Limited Edition incl. action figure, artbook, soundtrack cd, Making Of DVD (CIB), Cabela's Big Game Hunting (+gun). SNES Turtles In Time, Super Mario World, Super Mario All Stars, Donkey Kong Country, Jungle Book, Scope 6, James Bond Jr., Power Rangers (+box!), Smurfs, 2 controllers. Nintendo DS Myst DS, Mario Kart DS (cart only) Gameboy Advance Monster House, Totally Spies! (bootleg), Monsters Inc, Lilo & Stitch Gameboy 12 cart cases, Mr. Do!, Mystic Quest, Babe, GameBoy Gallery II, Stuart Little - The Journey Home, Asterix, Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt, Mouse Trap Hotel, Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle, Smurfs, Pokemon Crystal, Super Mario Land 2, Mickey's Dangerous Chase, Donkey Kong Land, Roadsters Collectibles Jungle Book cartridge case, Psyduck plush and 3 Mario plushies.

Bonus points if you can name the couple on the TV screen :)

Nice MK II !

Today on the "Vrijmarkt" I only scored Mario Smash Football, Super Mario Sunshine, Mario Party 5, Super Smash Bros. Melee for a total of 12 euro (the last 3 all Player's Choice versions and those I didn't have). Haven't seen one N64-cartridge floating around ... Is the N64 getting scarce in the wild??

Nope. It's Crown Prince Philippe of Belgium and his wife Mathilde.

Quote:

in short: yes.
I saw (and bought) just the one. Last year was exactly the same, except the console and games were all CIB :yeah:
It's a generation thing... i saw at least 25 PS2 consoles with stacks of games but nobody's buying.
Also saw a few Gamecubes but they were way too expensive.

Anyway... if anyone is interested in a Clear / Blue console & controller (PAL) just send me a PM.
I''m still looking for a Fire Orange set.
The Wavebird is available for trade as well
