Starting to pick up parts for my PC build, heres the build itself http://pcpartpicker.com/user/hockeylife21/saved/3QNb and I'm getting the I5-3570K tomorrow for $180 at microcenter, and the case for $90.
$90 for 8 gigs of RAM? Seems a bit excessive to me. I think you could find a better deal. Everything else looks great.
I also plan on building my own PC this summer.
You don't want to get 1 8 gb stick for some reason, and it is that expensive if you want a decent brand
Hmmm I guess I'm mistaken. Either way looks like a good build! :yeah:
Is this your first time making a PC?
Forever searching for 1080 Snowboarding and 1080 Avalanche items.
Love N64 Prototypes and Unreleased games.

4gb sticks are expensive, 8gb even more. 2gb are not. that's the reason. nice little rig, are you getting a SSD ? im a fan of Noctua HUGE cooling system, they are awesome but noisy a bit.

Yea its my first build, and it seems like SSDs are starting to go down again so I'm gonna wait for a 500 or 250 gb one to go down to like 100-150 and a reputable one like samsung or WD it'll probably be the last thing I buy

Oh man, I'm so jealous! My FFX/X-2 HD won't be here until next week. I'm going to drop off the grid for about 40 hours I think when that gets here. Can't wait!

EDIT: Oh wait, that's just the strategy guide. I'm slightly less jealous... but not much! ;)

my advice: get a small(ish) SSD for your OS and most-used programs, save some $$$ and spend it on a large HDD for all your data.
You don't need a big SSD when all it has to do is launch programs every once in a while.
I've got a tiny 32Gb SSD - they were still quite expensive back then - but it suits me fine and my Win7 system boots in just a couple of seconds.

Now get back on topic! :capice:

Seconding this...

You only really need a SSD for Windows, and a few things like Photoshop etc, if you are just planning on gaming, you'll get next to no speed increase

SSD drive sounds like a good idea for the OS and a few programs, is it simple to have both a SSD and HDD in one computer?

Sure, its easy to run multiple HDD's too, only limitation is your case's drive bay or motherboards sata ports.

oh yes, they are basically the same in day-to-day usage.
You won't notice any difference except a hard drive makes a bit of noise when it is active (and it is slower of course).
Like we said: the trick is to install your Windows system and other programs to the SSD "boot drive".
That's where you will get a speed boost. Using an SSD to read & (re)write data files makes no sense.
So install the SSD as drive C: and a nice 2 or 4 TB disk as drive D:

BTW: not all harddisks are created equal. Every manufacturer has different ranges of varying quality & price.
Spend a bit less on the SSD and splash out on the best HDD you can afford.

In a desperate attempt to get us back on topic: i've bought the premium version of Steel Diver : Sub Wars for 3DS :)

i've picked it up today in the gamestore. the most excited i have been in any new game since metal gear solid 2 (3 and 4 were extremely good but i didnt anticipate them as much) 8)

edit: forgot twilight princess; this was truly that last game that got me excited, until now
ground zeroes or the return of gameplay in modern video games. with a story of "only 2 hours (great!)" the focus on replayability and pure gameplay couldnt be more clear. no more useless interrupting cut scenes or stupid QTE's. if you want to enjoy the game you have to work and think for yourself. no stupid markers on maps, you have to plan your actions yourself. it's just too sad the backlash that kojima gets

im going in this week!
picked this up off of ebay for 125$ comes with sewing machine, game and gameboy. ive honestly never heard of this thing until i came across the game for 50$ and one of my instagram followers told me about this listing and surprised that nobody bid. but it was hard for me to find, only words that worked was sears 1500. so that could be why nobody found it since non of the keywords in the title worked, like game boy or sewing machine.

Just picked up Final Fantasy VIII on Steam for $5.09. Had to purchase the code through newegg.com for a discount. FFVII is available through the same deal:

EDIT: And these just arrived to add to my Tenchu collection:
