Bought a PSP 3000 today... not totally sure why... besides the fact that I apparently had an extra $200 to burn... and a burning desire to play/own ALL WipeOut games... So do I get a cookie for owning ALL of the current generation of gaming consoles?? Or did the alxbleep beat me to it??!?

I just won Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening Special Edition on eBay for €7,50 + shipping. I think it's a pretty good deal, it's like new and the cheapest I saw it new was for €30. |

I got Little Big Planet on Friday! Also downloaded SimCity 2000 from the Playstation Store... I kinda feel short changed though, cos it's the crappy PS1 version not the PC version. The PC version would have run well on the PS3, I wonder why they didn't just use that? Anyway, the stripped down PS1 version sucks balls.

Nine months on from selling my SNES and I can safely say that selling it was the right thing to do. I wasn't sure of that at the time but in the past nine months I've really not missed the SNES at all. It's just not a console I feel sentimental about. The one game I do miss is Super Mario Kart... hopefully Nintendo will get around to releasing on the Virtual Console. I've realised that I don't have much time for retro games these days and my plans to expand my PS1 and Dreamcast collections are now forgotten about. There's a lot of stuff I'm now thinking of selling because I'm tired of the clutter, the space everything takes up. My whole frickin' house is a dumping ground for old games I'll never get around to playing! I'd rather sell this crap and buy some nice stuff for our house or maybe even save the money as deposit on a new house. I can't believe I'm saying this, but the collecting side of games just isn't that important to me these days. Screw it, I can be honest with you guys. I've really lost interest in it. Dreamcast will probably be the next system to go. There's some great games but my own favorites can be played on other systems (Crazy Taxi, Skies of Arcadia and RE:Code Veronica I can play on the cube, Soul Calibur on the 360, Shadow Man on the N64...). I'd miss some of the games but not enough... Also got plans to sell off chunks of my N64, Gamecube, PS2 and DS collections. Man, I could make a fortune from this!

I'll be honest; I actually feel the same way. I frequently just buy new games for something to do, and it is very blatantly a way to compensate and cope for my near total lack of strong personal relationships. Sure, if I was a more sociable person I'd still play games, but I would no doubt play them less and not keep so many around. Of course, I'll still probably end up moving a few more times over the next few years as circumstances warrant, so investing money into things like a nice kitchen table or a new bed aren't really good ideas anyway. |

Cool! How is LBP so far? Is it the revolution some claim it to be, or just an innovative platformer with mediocre mechanics (floaty jumping)? |

I'm going through a bit of a clearout myself at the moment. It feels kind of good to not have a lot of stuff. It all comes down to a lack of time, doesn't it? |

Yeah, for me it's lack of time to actually play the games. I look at my games and for the vast majority I of older games I think "I'm never gonna get around to playing that". I'm just being honest with myself. If I had more time I'd love to be able to play them all. But in the real world...

Some of the stuff is pretty cool but there's not been a moment. Not for me anyway. The cool bit is playing online with other people, there's not really been any 2D-esque platformers that have allowed online multiplayer before... or, at least, none as well done as LBP. The level creation tool looks like fun but I think it'll take quite a while to get used to the different functions. It's really well explained though, there's a series of tutorials that cover everything in detail. It's a good game though, worth playing without a doubt. And sackboy =

I've been compiling a list of the games and systems I'm thinking about selling. There's so many... I'm not even sure where to start. I'm still not 100% on selling all these games but here's the ones I'm thinking about so far. Consoles (plus all accessories, etc): Dreamcast, Gamecube, iQue Player, my black N64 and most of the N64 controllers, etc. Dreamcast games: Aerowings ChuChu Rocket Crazy Taxi F355 Challenge Passione Rossa Jet Set Radio Le Mans 24 Hours Metropolis Street Racer Resident Evil Code Veronica Sega Rally Championship 2 Shadow Man Shenmue Soul Calibur Unreal Tournament Virtua Fighter 3 TB DS games: Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow Castlevania Portrait of Ruin Final Fantasy XII Revenant Wings Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass Star Fox Command Game Boy Advance games: Advance Wars Doom Mario Kart Super Circuit Super Mario Advance Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World Tetris Worlds Gamecube games: 1080 Avalanche Baten Kaitos Battalion Wars Beyond Good & Evil Bloody Roar Primal Fury Call of Duty Finest Hour Call of Duty 2 Big Red One Conflict Desert Storm 2 Die Hard Vendetta Extreme G 3 Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Geist Ikaruga James Bond 007: Agent Under Fire Killer7 Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures Mario Golf Toadstool Tour Medal of Honor European Assault Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes Metroid Prime 2 Echoes Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 Star Fox Assault Star Wars Rebel Strike Super Smash Bros Melee Tales of Symphonia WarioWare Mega Party Games Wave Race Blue Storm N64 games: 64 Oozumou (Japanese import) 1080 Snowboarding Aerofighters Assault Animal Forest (Japanese import) Armorines Project SWARM Automobili Lamborghini Bangaioh (Japanese import) Blast Corps Bomberman 64 (Japanese import, 2D version) Castlevania Legacy of Darkness Clayfighter Sculptors Cut (US import) Custom Robo V2 (Japanese import) Diddy Kong Racing Donkey Kong 64 Duke Nukem 64 Duke Nukem Zero Hour Excitebike 64 Extreme G F1 World Grand Prix II GT64 Chamionship Edition Harvest Moon 64 (US import) Hexen Holy Magic Century (Quest 64) International Superstar Soccer 2000 Killer Instinct Gold Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards Mario Golf Mario No Photopi (Japanese import) Mario Tennis Mickey's Speedway USA (US import) Mischief Makers Morita Shogi 64 (Japanese import) Mortal Kombat 4 Multi Racing Championship Mystical Ninja starring Goemon Ogre Battle 64 (US cart) Operation Winback Perfect Dark (Japanese import) Pokemon Snap Pokemon Stadium Quake Rakuga Kids Rayman 2 Road Rash 64 Roadsters Rocket: Robot On Wheels San Francisco Rush 2049 SimCity 2000 (Japanese import) Sin and Punishment (Japanese import) Snowboard Kids Star Wars Episode 1 Battle For Naboo Star Wars Shadows Of The Empire Super Mario 64 Shindou (Japanese rumble pak compatible import) Super Robot Spirits (Japanese import) Super Smash Bros Tetrisphere Top Gear Rally Top Gear Rally 2 Turok 2: Seeds of Evil (Store demo cartridge) Vigilante 8 Vigilante 8 2nd Offense Wave Race 64 Wave Race 64 Shindou (Japanese rumble pak compatible import) Wonder Project J2 (Japanese import) Worms Armageddon PC games: Black and White Doom Collectors Edition PS1 games: Final Fantasy IX PS2 games: Dragon Quest: The Journey of the Cursed King Final Fantasy X Freedom Fighters God of War Kingdom Hearts Ratchet and Clank 3 Taito Legends Timesplitters Viewtiful Joe 2 We Love Katamari Wii games: Elebits Ghost Squad Links Crossbow Training Super Paper Mario Xbox games Far Cry Instincts Panzer Dragoon Orta Secret Weapons Over Normandy Star Wars Battlefront Star Wars Battlefront II Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic Super Monkey Ball Deluxe Tom Clancys Splinter Cell Chaos Theory XIII Like I said, I'm not sure about these yet, all I'd done so far is eliminate the games I know I definitely don't want to sell. But that's still quite a big list of games that I'm probably never gonna get around to playing/playing again. If I'm gonna keep any of them I'd need a really strong reason to... I'm still open to suggestions on what I should keep, though. EDIT: Just counted them up. 143 games. ****! FURTHER EDIT: This isn't a sales pitch, please don't make me offers on any of this stuff. When I've decided what I'm actually gonna sell I'll post in the buy/sell section. Edited by alxbly, Dec 1 2008, 08:52 PM.

Yes, well, I had this whole rant planned out just for you alxbly, but it turns out there is a limit where poasts can't be larger than 100,000 characters. Therefore, I shall paraphrase it below: You're crazy, insane, and mad crazy insane to be considering selling your stuff. You have no respect, I guess somebody hasn't beat enough respect into you with a bat, it's time you met my bat 'o respect (there were about seven or so paragraphs involving the bat, mostly involving brandishing and beating). This is BLASPHEMY!, such talk is complete and utter BLASPHEMY! (there were about thirteen paragraphs mentioning BLASPHEMY! and sacred things and such, which looped back to the bat and more whacks across the head). I am ashamed to know you (to end on I somehow turned the piece into how it has affected me and how you're ruining the world, not sure how it went that far but it did. Then it ended with one last bat beatdown for good measure). Here are some comments on your choices: Don't sell Doom for the GBA... DESTROY IT! Do not subject someone else to that atrocity! Wait, why are you selling Mario Kart: Super Circuit? Didn't you say you missed Super Mario Kart? Super Circuit contains every single track from Super Mario Kart, so why not keep it instead of buying the original? You phail for even considering selling the following GameCube games: Battalion Wars (BLASPHEMY!) Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour > you Metroid Prime 2 (can't handle the awesomity?) Super Smash Brothers Melee *explodes from rage* Tales of Symphonia = the only RPG I liked in recent years You shall be banned for considering selling the following N64 games: 64 Oozumou (Japanese import) 1080 Snowboarding Aerofighters Assault Animal Forest (Japanese import) Armorines Project SWARM Automobili Lamborghini Bangaioh (Japanese import) Blast Corps Forget this, it's just easier to say your whole ****ing list is awry, except the Pokémon games of course. Sell those. I'm getting tired here so I'll have to wait until later to convince you to keep them... but whatever I do, I'm sure it will involve a bat. |

^ Why? If I'm not gonna have time to play it, what's the point in keeping it? Must have is only relevant if you have time, or the desire, to play the stuff. Just now I lack on both counts cos I'm too busy playing "Sony and Microsoft crap". Yeah, but I want one to play on my TV. And, no, the crappy Gamecube Game Boy Player will not do. Virtual Console or nothing! Anyway, to go through the list: Battalion Wars = meh. It was okay but nothing great. Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour = lame except in multi and I'd never choose this over Wii Sports Metroid Prime 2 (can't handle the awesomity?) = would rather handle the awesomity of Metroid Prime 3... and I can't even find time to play that. I'm not 100% sure about selling this game though, I have played through quite a lot of it... but I think I'd rather play the third game. Light/dark areas=broken gameplay. Super Smash Brothers Melee *explodes from rage* = I've not played it in years, not gonna start again now. Tales of Symphonia (the only RPG I liked in recent years) = Fair point but there's current gen RPG's I'd rather play. |

Keep Metroid Prime 2, it's a great game and it's part of one of the greatest trilogies ever... play it before MP3, that way you'll appreciate the improvements like controls and graphics more. That's what I'm doing, and that's why I have an unplayed copy of MP3 since October 2007 :). Also, keep Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World, unless you have SMW already on another format. If you sell Super Mario World, it will end (the World, of course). Keep MGS TTS unless you prefer the PS1 version (only if you like the rest of the series). Keep We Love Katamari if you liked it even a bit, it's too great too sell. It's greatness is pure win. For the rest, good list. I see what you're doing since I did basically the same thing around a month ago - I sold 28 games and my N64 to make place for all the new stuff that's coming out. So go on and sell all that if you don't see yourself playing it anymore... after all, there's no point to collecting anything, and that includes games. |
