Sin & Punishment? Ikaruga? Sell? This topic reeks of more phailure than John McCain's campaign staff.
Sin and Punishment - got the VC version, don't need the N64 version as well.
Ikaruga - I can play it in glorious high definition on my 360 so i don't need the Gamecube version.

You see, I'm not as crazy as you think. ^_^

alxbly, get gamer friendds to play your abused games.
My friends only want to play the latest Call of Duty or GTA, despite my protests and best attempts to broaden their gaming experiences. :-/

Keep Metroid Prime 2, it's a great game and it's part of one of the greatest trilogies ever... play it before MP3, that way you'll appreciate the improvements like controls and graphics more. That's what I'm doing, and that's why I have an unplayed copy of MP3 since October 2007 :).
Played MP2 and MP3 already so I'm aware of the control improvements. I'm in two minds about selling MP2 though... I've played about half the game but the dark energy areas and waiting around in bubbles of light energy was getting boring. I'd be more inclined to play Metroid Prime 3 and just skip what I haven't played of 2. I'm keeping the original Metroid Prime, though. :)

Also, keep Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World, unless you have SMW already on another format. If you sell Super Mario World, it will end (the World, of course).

Don't really want a portable version of the game. I'm assuming SMW is available on the virtual console? I'd prefer to downlaod it for that.

Keep MGS TTS unless you prefer the PS1 version (only if you like the rest of the series).

Played it, finished it, can't see me wanting to play this or the Playstation version again. I found the long cutscenes pretty boring and I'm not really a fan of the series. I'd still like to get MGS4 though...

Keep We Love Katamari if you liked it even a bit, it's too great too sell. It's greatness is pure win.

I'm more inclined to play it's sequel, Beautiful Katamari on the 360 because my PS2 is boxed up just now and 360 isn't.

For the rest, good list. I see what you're doing since I did basically the same thing around a month ago - I sold 28 games and my N64 to make place for all the new stuff that's coming out. So go on and sell all that if you don't see yourself playing it anymore... after all, there's no point to collecting anything, and that includes games.

I'm looking forward to selling the stuff, it's not really giving me any pleasure owning games I'm not playing. I can spend the money on something nice too, and maybe get some new games I'm more likely to play. :)

I see you really thought this out :). That seems kind of like my reasoning when I sold my N64: Banjo-Kazooie is on XBLA, the Zeldas are on the GCN collector's edition, Mario is on the VC, etc.

If you end up selling MGS TTS, tell me what price you're asking for it :). I just might be interested since I loved MGS3.

Alright, it's obvious you're going to need a bit more convincing than simply my bat 'o respect can provide. I guess I have no choice but to go through the list point-by-point and explain why many of those games are worth keeping. Get your mouse cursor away from that back button! You're going to read this whether you like it or not! I'm just doing what any N64 fan would do after reading about someone considering selling such a huge amount of N64 games.

Battalion Wars: You control a whole army, what's not to like? There are plenty of different unit types so when you get bored of one, you can try out another. The game may be on the short side, but getting a good rank for a mission is no easy task. What's the problem here? Is this game not violent enough for you since it doesn't have blood and gore? If you're going to sell this, at least use the money to buy the Wii sequel.

Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour: This is one game that's good in both single and multi. Wii Sports is the lame one: nine holes and no Mario (Mario Miis don't count). If you're after 100% completion, this game will keep you occupied for months, maybe even years. There's the tournament trophies to collect for every character, the ring shot to complete with everyone, high scores to achieve in the side games, and more. Or is that the problem? Too much to do? As an aside, you could also post your high scores and see how we compare. Plus this game also... well, never mind.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes: Alright, so it isn't as polished as the first game was, but broken gameplay? What was wrong with the light/dark sections, other than that the idea was ripped from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to The Past (which was probably ripped from an even older work)? You can't own just one Metroid Prime, you have to keep the awesomity of this trilogy together! Sell only if you plan to buy the Wiimake.

Super Smash Brothers Melee: Not having played it for years seems like a good reason to keep it; if you went back to it, it would feel fresh again! I'd love to have gone years without playing this, but I can't even go months. This is also another game where we could share our high scores.

Tales of Symphonia: Sell it only if it will finance the purchase of the Wii sequel.

Now on to the real meat, the N64 games!

Blast Corps.: I have to say, I'm surprised to see this one on the list. This game is not only one of the N64's best, but it is also one of the most unique games ever created. Not to mention how challenging it can be; ever collect all of the platinum medals? I myself have been wanting to get back into this game, but all of my save files are gone now due to corrupted memory cards.

Bomberman 64 (Japan): Wait a sec, didn't you say this was awesome? Or do you just want to sell it because it's a multi-player focused game and it's worth a little money?

Diddy Kong Racing: Again I am surprised to see this here. This game has a lot of variety to it, I'm sure you'll want to come back to it eventually.

Duke Nukem (both): What could be better than kicking ass and chewing bubble gum?

ExciteBike 64: This is the best dirt bike game that you're going to find. Believe me, I've looked. When you run out of challenges, you can then just create your own tracks. There's also the original ExciteBike here, which should be reason enough to keep this.

Kirby 64: How can you not like a game featuring a little puffball who can eat things and absorb powers? The variety of this game comes from trying different powers to complete each stage with.

Mario Golf: You want to sell this one too? You should keep at least one. Go with the GameCube version as it doesn't have the weird generic characters like this one does.

Mario Tennis: This is another good one for completists. There's the tournament trophies to collect for each character, and all of the ring shots as well. Go back to it and I'm sure you'll find something which you haven't completed yet. If you get the Game Boy Color game then you can add in the four Game Boy characters to the mix. Plus this game also has... ah, forget it.

Mystical Ninja: If Super Mario 64 and The Legend of Zelda hooked up and had a one-night stand, this game would be their illegitimate child. It's a great mix of platforming and adventure, and it's a wonderfully weird game to boot. It almost seems like a parody, or at least as close as a game has come to being one.

Perfect Dark: Alright, so I noticed that you listed this as a Japanese import. This means you aren't selling your other (PAL?) copy, right?

Rayman 2: I haven't played this but I've heard it's good. The fact that you're selling it makes me wonder if that's true.

Rocket: Robot on Wheels: I think I know a certain cat who isn't going to be happy to see this listed here, so I'll hold off on commenting on this one.

San Francisco Rush 2049: The games of the Rush series are still the best arcade racers ever conceived. This one may not be as pure as the first two, but it still contains the essence of what makes Rush great: low gravity. There are also the stunt and battle modes which add some variety to the package.

Snowboard Kids: It's like Mario Kart on snowboards. And you love Mario Kart.

Star Wars Shadows of the Empire: Best Star Wars game ever. Believe it.

Super Smash Brothers: Come on now, you can't sell both Smash Brothers games. You have to keep at least one, or sell them to finance buying the Wii version. I can't believe I just suggested that... Melee 4evar!

Tetrisphere: I'm shocked, SHOCKED, :o , that you have the gall to consider selling this. Appalled, even. This is the best 3D puzzle concept ever created, and with the recent influx of 2D puzzlers on WiiWare, I'm beginning to think it always will be. The soundtrack is nothing short of incredible and should be reason enough to keep this. This is also another game where score sharing is possible.

Wave Race 64: While the game's graphics may no longer be considered impressive, the core gameplay of this title is still as solid as it ever was.

I just counted and there are 64 games on your N64 list. I think this is a sign that you must keep them all. Besides, isn't that at least half of your collection???!!!

You're going to read this whether you like it or not! I'm just doing what any N64 fan would do after reading about someone considering selling such a huge amount of N64 games.
^_^ Thanks Mop, I appreciate you taking the time to loook at the list. Here's my thoughts, game by game.

Battalion Wars: never gave this game much of a chance, when I did play it I thought it was okay but I've never felt an urge to play it again. And since the original didn't hold my attention I doubt the sequel would either, so Battalion Wars 2 isn't a game I'm considering buying just now.

Mario Golf/Mario Tennis (on Gamecube and/or N64): Wii Sports has spoiled me. I don't want to go back to pressing buttons in tennis or golf games. Besides, sports games don't really interest me and I've barely played Mario Golf or Tennis; they were bought because I had some wild idea that my collection wouldn't be complete without them... but they aren't games that I actually want to play. How silly is that? And for that reason, they're gonna get sold.

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes: Waiting in bubbles in the dark areas whilst your resistance/energy/whatever builds up is a crap gameplay idea, IMO. I'm not bothered about owning the trilogy just for the sake of it, but I will be keeping the two best Metroid Primes (1 & 3).

Super Smash Brothers/ Melee: I've never been a big fan of Super Smash Bros... I like the Nintendo aspect; all the characters, trophies and nostalgia but the actual gameplay doesn't do much for me. Even in multiplayer I'd be happier playing something else (Mario Kart, for example).

Tales of Symphonia: Same applies here as with Battalion Wars; if the original game didn't interest me then why should the sequel be any different? Got plenty of RPGs to play before I'd get around to playing this, so I'd be better off just selling it.

Blast Corps - Tried playing it when I rebought it years ago. It's okay but it hasn't aged well. I can't see me ever getting the urge to play it again.
Bomberman 64 (Japan): Never said it was awesome, said it was better than 3D bomberman. It's good but the Japanese text makes no sense to me and makes the adventure mode difficult to understand. Bomberman on the 360 has online play so I don't have to convince my mates to play with me to get the most out of it. Another game that will gather dust so I'm just gonna sell it.

Diddy Kong Racing: That's a mistake. I'm not selling Diddy Kong racing.

Duke Nukem (both): Got Duke Nukem 3D on... well, guess. :P The other Duke Nukem I barely played.

ExciteBike 64: Didn't get into this, not gonna keep it.

Kirby 64: C'mon, this is not a good game.

Mario Golf: Selling it, see above.

Mario Tennis: Selling it, see above.

Mystical Ninja: Too many platformers to play, some of them need to go. Gotta finish Banjo Tooie before I would ever get around to playing this, plus platformers on other platforms (Prince of Persia, Ratchet and Clank, etc, etc). It's pretty far down the list. :(

Perfect Dark: Keeping the PAL version. The japanese version was really just a curiosity for me, I've seen it so now I can sell it.

Rayman 2: I've barely played it. Selling simply due to lack of time.

Rocket: Robot on Wheels: Again, I've barely played it and am selling simply due to lack of time. I know I'd want to finish Banjo Tooie and everything else I've already mentioned before I got around to playing this.

San Francisco Rush 2049: Nice but modern games like Pure evolved the formula. I'm never gonna get around to playing it.

Snowboard Kids: No time...

Star Wars Shadows of the Empire: "Best Star Wars game ever. Believe it". Not even close, Mop. Rogue Squardron (N64) and Rogue Leader (Gamecube) are far better. There's also Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars: Battlefront, etc, etc, and they're all better than SotE.

Super Smash Brothers: See Melee.

Tetrisphere: it never really clicked with me. I still prefer original Tetris. :-8

Wave Race 64: Too many racers... but I might keep this one. Or the Gamecube sequel, I'm not sure which one I preferred.

You know, you claimed that you were only considering selling this stuff, but it sounds to me as if you have already made up your mind that you are going to sell it.

Strangely, I find myself wanting to play every game that I commented on. I'm not really sure what the cause of that is, but you've basically just created a list of the games I want to play in 2009. Assuming I actually have the time to play said games, that is.

Moreover, this should inspire me to rid myself of my own gaming garbage; perhaps I'll make it a new years resolution to sell off my excess stuff. I tried getting into selling earlier this year when I sold a few GameCube games, but I didn't stick with it. Of course, I'm still going to keep my N64 collection in tact, except maybe some of the extra systems and controllers... don't really need a backup for my backup to backup my backup if anything goes wrong with my backup. That's just a little excessive. Anything on other systems is up for consideration as well. Then maybe I can finance the remaining 7 N64 games, as well as all of those Wii and GameCube games I've been wanting for the longest time.

Anyways, I'll shut up now... after a few more comments...

1. Kirby 64: C'mon, this is not a good game.
2. Blast Corps: It's okay but it hasn't aged well.
3. Mystical Ninja, Rayman 2, Rocket.
4. Tetrisphere: it never really clicked with me. I still prefer original Tetris.
5. Wii Sports has spoiled me. I don't want to go back to pressing buttons in tennis or golf games.

1. You're only kidding yourself. :P
2. How can it age poorly when there's been nothing else like it?
3. These platformers are all just as good as the N64's best, and better than most things released in recent years. Mystical Ninja is as much of an adventure game as it is platformer, making it a mix of genres.
4. Major phailage here. Tetris is so tedious. This game actually took puzzle games to the nest level; unfortunately that line of evolution was never followed up on.
5. I might agree with this if Wii Sports had more depth. Until any in-depth sports games are released on Wii, the Mario sports games will remain the best. Wii controls + Mario + spin on traditional sports = best sports game ever; unfortunately thus far the potential of Wii has been wasted in this sense.

For what it's worth, I've not lost interest in collecting to the point of selling things off. (Just to the point of not adding to my collection, as far as the N64 is concerned.) And I might even postulate that I've been at it longer than both alxbly and Mop_it_up.

How come I can make the time to sell them?

Answer: I've no idea. The thought of trading them is not one I'd entertain (rip-off) but listing them on eBay, etc... it takes so long. So I might keep them by default because it's the least time consuming thing to do. ^_^

Ask around friends, people you know, etc. It isn't very time consuming, it's how I sold a lot of games. There's bound to be someone you know interested in either the blockbusters (like God of War, SSBM,...) or the bad-but-popular games (like Need for Speed). Maybe trade in the really bad games that nobody would buy on eBay anyway. For the rest, you could just make a template on eBay and change the name and photo for each listing - it would take a few hours but nothing compared to the time needed to play all of those :). Or you could post them on this forum, like you said, someone will certainly be interested in a few of those.

I find it easier to find time for something when money is involved. I'm sure once you calculate how much you'd get for all that, the amount will be enticing enough to motivate you.

I just got an Xbox 360 Elite! Changed my mind at the last minute, decided that the 360 has too many great games to miss out on and got that instead of a PS3 :). It was only €250 too, that's €150 less than the PS3 and just €50 more than the 360 Pro. I only have Lego Indiana Jones and Kung Fu Panda as of now (Lego IJ is pretty good), but I downloaded some demos and I'm playing those right now. I started with Banjo-Kazooie - the only game I miss after selling my N64 :). As soon as I got ahold of some MS Points, I'm buying it.

You know, I think I will buy Mario Kart. I suppose there's no point in having a Wii if I can't play against you guys. ^_^
Unfortunately when it comes to Wii, there aren't many choices for online games, and even less which can be played across regions. Mario Kart is definitely the best of them for seven reasons:

1. It has a worldwide mode.
2. Lag doesn't ruin the game because it goes by position rather than frame-by-frame.
3. Friends can play other friends while also playing random people.
4. BLASPHEMY! Wait... :eh:
5. Ranking system, time trial record tracking, and twice-monthly tournaments.
6. Toad.
7. Birdo.

The only other game I know for sure which can be played worldwide is Bomberman Blast. I haven't checked if Smash Brothers can be played worldwide (random matches aren't), but considering how laggy the game can be in regional matches, I don't think I want to attempt a worldwide match.

The other two online games I own are Mario Strikers Charged and Endless Ocean, but I know for a fact that they are region-restricted. It's a shame, that. <_<

Endless Ocean looks incredible, but I don't think I'll bother buying it. I really don't see a point, considering the region restrictions.

Actually, I think I may be able to play it with alxbly. But no Mop or Floorcat? -_-

Yes... the Endless Ocean region restriction was the biggest letdown ever. Bigger than Perfect Dark Zero even. Maybe the sequel, if it gets released outside Japan, will overcome this apparently massive retard-barrier Nintendo has with having fun online. Imagine how awesome it would be if it was Wii Speak-ready!!

It's meant as a single-player game, the online mode was really just an afterthought. It's a shame but you shouldn't let that stop you from buying it, it really is worth owning.

Well, thanks to Amazon's 15 Days, 15 Deals promo dilly, I've managed to order up some more games... as if I really needed more. >_< Served to 床の猫 today: Eternal Sonata (PS3) and Ridge Racer 7 (PS3). >_< Less than US$43 combined though. :w00t:

I sold Endless Ocean. Didn't like it. Loved the atmosphere and the tranquility of the game, but I don't like playing games that don't have a goal.

I'll probably get The Orange Box for the money though. Does that redeem me? :)

:omg:

But it does have a goal. You hone your diving skillz to become 1337 diver No.1. Orange Box though... now you're talking!

Send me a message if you see me online, we'll get a game of Team Fortress going. :)
