Nice pickup Sixty Formula. That is one sting of a price but a very rare piece you have acquired. I understand the manual is an even harder item to find so all the best and keep us updated. As you are aware no doubt there are many reproduction versions of these also so keep that eye of the tiger going!

How much would a complete version be worth the box, booklet, cart, info leaflet & Baggie?

@Milage007

I think a tough guess would be
400+ for the box
500+ for the manual (crazy..)
240+ for the game

and baggies and leaflet you can get anywhere basically

That's pretty spot on. I've seen the manual sell for over 1,000 at auction, it just depends on demand at the time.

Not really a pickup but rather an exchange. I swapped my unopened copy of Deadpool for this physical 360 copy of GTA: San Andreas as I'm too big of a GTA fan not to have this in the collection and Deadpool is getting a PS4/Xbox One HD remaster that I'll just have to pick up down the road.

For some reason I completely forgot about these awesome pieces of signage I scored today as well.

Okay, so the pokemon snap station has arrived in excellent condition! I promised I would tell my story after I got it so here it goes.....Basically....I'm a crook. hahaha.

About a month ago a pokemon snap station popped up on ebay for $300 USD. The listing stated that the machine needed some care and work. There were only 2 pictures of the kiosk from the listing. It looked to be in decent shape to me, and even if it needed major repairing, $300 was a decent price to bring one of these beauties back to life. I instinctively purchased it really quickly, like most of do when we see something we MUST have. The owner of the kiosk was a nice older lady, id say in her 50's or 60's. She was concerned that I bought it without looking at it so she agreed to send me video's of everything that was wrong with the machine.

Once the video arrived, I was very interested to see exactly what I had invest 300 dollars into. Based on what she filmed, it appeared to be working just fine. Nothing was broken, the light worked, the television worked, the printer, the card reader, everything was functioning well. The only problem, was that the game would not turn on, and a repeating clicking noise would continue while the machine was on. Now this seems like a big deal, since the game wouldn't start, but I knew these kiosks were buggy and could be fixed easily.

Looking closer at the videos I began to notice something about the kiosk....there was NO game pak inserted into the N64. I started to draw conclusions that the reason this thing wasn't turning on, and the reason it was clicking, was because there was no game pak, and the machine was continuously trying to boot a game. These conclusions I drew made me excited, but this machine was far away and I couldn't tell, so I didn't want to get my hopes up.

It's finally here today....and when I got it inside and set it up, I turned it on and low and behold, nothing showed up on the TV and the clicking began. To see if I was right all along, I took a pokemon snap game pak, inserted into the kiosk, and it instantly booted the game and the kiosk CAME TO LIFE.

Just for fun I popped in Bomberman Second Attack in the 2nd cart reader, and it instantly booted THAT game up.

So...It turns out that I was right...the machine was fine, and all it needed was a cartridge. I basically withheld assumable information to get this for a cheap price, but hey, whatcha going to do? Nothing now I guess. :/ lol.

As for the printer....I don't have a pokemon smart card yet to try it out, but the card reader and printer turn on, so it's just matter of seeing it functions correctly.

Thanks for reading my story!! I was glad I could share it with you all. I'll put up picture of it once it's cleaned, and settled!

Thanks!

I promised myself (and my girlfriend) no more kiosks after the huge N64 kiosk I got. But, I've fallen in love with kiosks in the past few months, and for $300 It would have been fun to fix and learn about, even if it didn't work.
I just got lucky!

Honestly though, I tell everyone, you can blame Envyfox for igniting my passion for kiosks, he is a connoisseur of sorts when it comes to them. Thanks for looking Vinyl! Should have pics up in an hour or so.
Hm? Are you sure you've got the right guy? I'll be the first to admit that my knowledge and experiences with kiosks are almost nonexistant. I mean I would be more than flattered if I did somehow lead you to one of the best deals I've seen in this thread (and, to be honest, I probably wouldn't have told her the real "problem" with the kiosk either  ), but I think the person who is really responsible for getting you interested in kiosks should get the credit. :)

Congrats on the kiosk pickup mate. Look, don't feel guilty about being a crook. That's finding a good deal. Asymmetric information from a buyers side is not a bad thing. How else you going to get a bargain in a market with perfect information? That's my economics degree being put to good use by the way.

If it makes you feel better as well I'd imagine she has made an earner on the kiosk as well I.e would she have paid $300 or north of that for the kiosk? I doubt it. Everybody wins.

Wow, in an incredible coincidence someone has the same name as you on reddit, and extensively collects kiosks. I simply assumed you were both the same person!

Thanks for reading though, I appreciate the comment! :) I'll post an inside look on the kiosk in the collection thread where I posted my inside look at the N64 kiosk. Pics will be included.

Very true, very true, words of wisdom. Coming from someone who has a degree as well, I very much appreciate your opinion on the matter. :) I felt a little bad, but she was a sweet woman and was happy to buy a new mattress with the money she got for the kiosk. I'm glad it all worked out!

@Sixty Formula - Not again! Believe it or not, this is the second time I've shared a username with someone else. That means, unless the envyfox that collects kiosks is also a fan of Envy from Fullmetal Alchemist, there are at least three different EnvyFox running around.

Anyway, I have just gotten back from my video game hunt and came back with a few games. Nothing big, but good stuff nonetheless. Unfortunately, I no longer have the means to take off price stickers cleanly, so they will have to stay on there until I do.

Despite all of the GameStop stickers on the Magical Melody case, I actually found it in a thrift store. I was suprised by how well kept everything else about the game was. I also didn't pay 10 cents on that PS1 sampler disc, unfortunately and no that is not it's correct case. The case is for Monopoly. Usually, a game without it's proper case (if they are discs) is usually a deal-breaker for me, but I make exceptions for demos. Anyway, everything seems to at least work properly, so I'm happy for that.

I used to have that Megadrive pad back in the day as a second pad. I hated it at the time. I hated third party controllers. It's long gone now but does bring pleasure to see one. I just kept the two normal official Sega Megadrive pads with my console in the end.

Nice pickup overall. Stickers do get on my nerves too but granted you need to be certain you'll do a good job before trying otherwise it's more annoying..

Finds over this week. All found during vacation. I'll explain what, where and why. But first, the photo!

Posted Image

Starting top left we have the big box Kinectimals, Tomb Raider and Borderlands the Pre-Sequel. My girl wanted the big box Kinectimals for a while, but somehow never found it. Now I ran into it at a discount: €12,99 each or 3 for €20. Picked up the other two games with it. Kinectimals will be the first Christmas gift she'll get. Borderlanders will be sold to a friend for €10 and I'll keep Tomb Raider.

Top right there is another Darksiders II for WiiU. Ran into this one for €4,99, sealed. Since I already own two copies (one open and one sealed) I'm not keeping this one. This will be a little present for a very close friend who always has my back and gets me thru the bad days.

Middle left there is a Pink Wooly Yoshi and a Splatoon Girl amiibo. Found both at €12,99 each in the same store. Score! Yoshi was priced at €19,99 but since I asked why they dropped the prices to €12,99 assuming it was a mistake.

Middle right are two WiiU charge docks. Bought them at €1 each. One spare for me, one spare for my girl.

Bottom left is an xbox 360 audio cable. Not sure what to do with it, but it was €0,50 at a thrift store.
Bottom center is an xbox360 Composite cable. Wanted this one for a while and found it at the same thrift store for €0,50

Bottom right is another Killer Cuts soundtrack CD from Killer Instinct for the SNES. €1 in a thrift store. Will be resold to make some money back.

I don't know if it belongs here since it was a gift from one of my best friends, but I got this (technically) yesterday in the mail.

Posted Image

And so one of my childhood favorites finally finds it's way into my N64 collection. My friend bought it so that we both could play it together after our Twilight Princess playthrough (which will most likely end in a couple of days). I am definitely thankful for him buying this for me, but it looks like I'm not the only one. The sellers sent me this thank you mint with the package!

Posted Image

This probably should have gone to my friend since he paid for the game, but don't worry. I'll make it up to him by describing in great detail just how good the mint was.

UPDATE (10/11/15): Went into my local GameStop yesterday and bought Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers (complete) for Wii. Now I wanted to post a photo of the game on here, but Photobucket keeps resetting it's page every time I try to upload the picture.

Review scores for this game are all over the place, so I had no clue what I was buying other than a Crystal Chronicles game that plays nothing like a Crystal Chronicles game. After testing it out at home, I can say that I honestly enjoyed what little I've played though I do see where the naysayers are coming from if the game keeps up like this. Here's hoping I can get to the rest of it... sometime.

@Boomdiers That looks awesome! Where did you find that?

@PimpinMainer Don't be suprised if it takes 5 weeks or more. That's been my experience the few times I've ordered from over there. Just about the time you forget about it is when it will show up.

As for your sticker, take some scotch tape and keep dabbing it over the old adhesive. Good luck!

@ kartmaster Thanks for the tape idea, and as for the Japan shipping I have done this a couple times. You would think I would learn by now that ebays estimated arrival is way off. I orders some super super thin wire for circuit boards from Japan and I completely forgot about it 2 months later when it showed up.

Thanks Vinyl. :-8

@Pimpin,
Use Goo Gone and Q-tips.

SNES labels have a protective gloss finish, so there is no worry.
Apply a small amount to the Q-tip and gently go over the area.

Then shortly after, use clean end of Q-tip to begin to wipe away the residue.

Repeat these steps using clean Q-tips until the sticker residue is gone.
Any appearance of staining from the Goo Gone is temporary and will dissapear.

* There used to be a similar product called un•du, which was equally good, but got discontinued.

I went out video game hunting yesterday, but came home empty handed. This led me to order a little game from Amazon. Nothing big, but it's been a while since I've done the mystery game thing here. Pic will be posted once it arrives. :)
