Went video game hunting earlier today before work and had some interesting finds. First off, I went to the local Value Village and saw everything I saw during my last visit... and none of it was very appealing to me. However, just as I was heading for the exit, my eyes caught a glimpse at something completely out of place in the computer monitors section. It was an Excalibur Electronics' Frogger. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a good shot of the machine without embarassing myself with glimpses of my messy home, so here's a pic I pulled from an online image search. For those wondering, yes the machine plays and yes the one I bought works perfectly. This is not to be confused with the Sega-Coleco version (which is worth more I believe), but I still got it for an absolute steal. Besides, I bought it for play. Not for profit.  I thought that would be the catch of the day, but then I walked into the nearby Goodwill. Within minutes, an employee came out with a cart of electronics. On that cart were these two bad boys.  The game was actually in the handheld and the two were going for one price. Now this is the same Goodwill that has been overpricing it's retro games recently no matter how good or valuable they really are. So, when I flipped the system over and saw that it was going for even less than what I spent on the Frogger machine, I swooped it up and headed straight for the cash register. Unfortunately, I found out later why the price was so cheap: the system wasn't working. It would turn on for about a second before turning back off. However, with some toying around, I did get the Game Gear to stay on and play the game! Still, the screen will sometimes flicker and the sound is almost nonexistant. After work, I found out that all Game Gears around this time need their capacitors replaced. I'm hoping that getting someone to repair this thing is cheap because there is no way I'm doing it myself. Even so, I'm glad it works just enough to play one of my least favorite Sonic games. Fantastic.  Prices for both items: Spoiler: click to toggle

Really nice price Envyfox! Went out again today. My budget for tomorrow is nonexistant, but I had other plans anyways. What did I find?  So, what is what? First off: 4 empty Wii cases for 1 total. Needed some extras for tHe upcoming expo. Freeloaders for the Gamecube, "also works on Wii", both factory sealed. 1 each. One for resell, one for myself. Next: Starfox Command DS, CIB. 3 Metroid Prime Hunters First Hunt Demo, CIB. 3 Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate 3DS, sealed. 5 FarCry 2 limited edition for xbox 360. 10. Will be going to my brother in law. Then... Prince of Persia Warrior Wirhin for Gamecube for 2,50. Ha it disc only, so it's an upgrade. Next: Army Men Air Attack PS1 Army Men Sarge's Heroes PS1 Spongebob the movie Gamecube GTA San Andreas xbox Unreal Championship 2 xbox Super Monkey Ball Touch & Roll DS, game only 10 for the lot at a reseller I buy alot from. And last but not least: Saints Row 4 Commander in Chief Edition for xbox 360 - 3,50 MagneCarta II for xbox 360 - 8 Mario Kart Double Dash - 12 Same store again, paid for with store credit. |

Somewhere I heard that every time a mario tennis game is released, the console sees it's doom. Wii U just announced a new mario tennis, and all of a sudden we hear about the NX devs. Hmmm.

Just ordered two Game Gear games from Amazon. I don't plan on buying any more after these two until I can get someone to repair the system, but playing nothing but Sonic 2 might get boring after a while. Of course, I'll be sure to upload a pic for each game as they arrive. Did some after work video game hunting and, while no games were brought home today, I did get a couple of game-related items.  The funny thing is I currently have no use for either of these things. I gave my copy of Mario Kart Wii to my nephew years ago and I've only rented Pokemon Battle Revolution for a week when the game was brand spanking new (sometime in 2007 I believe). Still, the PBR strat guide looks like it will be fun to read and you never know when I might have need of the wheel in the future.  To make sure this post wasn't about things useless to me, I've also ordered another game off of Amazon. This time, it's a 3ds game and one I've wanted for years, but have put off getting for some reason (probably money related). I can't wait for it to arrive. I just won this at an auction and i`m hyped! This is the big one right here. also comes with 5 games but those are not that important. shipping will be a pain in the butt, but will be totally worth it enough with purchase, there are a few things coming here. THEN I`m trying not to buy anything til Newyear.. Whos with me xD starting on 01-11-15!! |

One of the two Sega Game Gear games I ordered has finally arrived! Yeah the cartridge looks like it's been collecting dust on a shelf for some time, but I'm surprised the label is still in tact. No doubt due to me finding games that have seen better days at thrift stores. What really threw me off was that this was sitting in my mailbox to begin with. According to Amazon, the game should still be in Ohio. I won't complain, though.  Oh and here's the Xbox 360 controller that came in earlier this week. Little awesome trade at my side again. Same store as always. Traded in: Official Indigo Gamecube controller Got in return: 9 store credit AND these two games. Wanted Battle Royale for a while now, and the Tecmo Classics seems fun as well (it has Bomb Jack on it).

Havent been able to get on here much over the last couple of weeks but these are my most recent pickups. Halo came with a T Shirt that says "Team Lockie", they had sold out of the MC version. I also picked up 2 Discworld game walkthrough books for a pretty decent price. |

Another game arrived in the mail today. This time, it's the 3ds game I ordered! As I said before, this is a game I've wanted to play for some time now and I was surprised to find that new/sealed copies of the game cost about the same as a used cartridge only copy. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to try it out today because I had to get ready for work, but I'll give it a short play when I get home. Post #7449 has gotten it's final update. |

Vinyl, that is an awesome addition! You will be over the moon by the time it arrives. Fingers crossed that it all works out with the shipping! DarkLink, the full size Virtual Boy kiosk was in the US as well, it is the artwork on the side wings that differ, the console is Japanese and some stickers are different, that's all. Our Japanese SEGA Sonic light up store display arrived today! The top part, around the light, has chrome all the way around, the photo doesn't do it justice!

So it's finally monday. I'm done with a very very busy weekend. Saturday I'd set up at my regular flea market and sunday at a local gaming consention. Sold a lot of duplicates, mostly stuff I did not expect to sell (Phillips CDi 210, Phillips Videopac etc.), but did not sell the stuff I did expect to sell Mario games). Weird weekend, yet I did very well. Made a nice haul in games as well. Pricing etc down below. thanks for the compliments about the VB, it's really a grail here in PAL-land, can`t believe the auction stayed at one price About the shipping Kelamy, I would have asked the same thing to you with your Sega light! It looks awesome! must be really fragile! happy you have it! Kamikaze, sorry I did not call about not coming over to the market, had other issues. What did you bought at the flee market and what did you bought at the event? Normally at the event they give retail prizes to the stuff they are selling. Also: "Turok - NTSC CIB - 1,50 MRC - NTSC CIB - 1,50 Wace Race 64 - CIB - 3" Darn!

Everything from that post came from the convention. I know my prices very well, so I won't overpay too soon. But I know quite some sellers by now, and imports were really really cheap there somehow. So a win-win for me. At the flea market the only things I picked up were Gamecube Die Hard Vendetta (2), GTA 4 (PS3, 3) and InFamous 2 (3). Edited by Kamikaze, Nov 2 2015, 08:39 AM.

I try to give every game a shot. But off course that never happens. My main goal is all Nintendo first party titles, good Rare titles (mostly N64) and NES Capcom and NES Black Label games and a full Gamecube PAL set for the collection. But every now and then I run into a good deal (Turok, MRC) and I buy them nontheless, in hopes of trying the game one day. But I'm afraid half of the games will never be played. As for Infamous, it is one of those "people say it's good, it looks unique and the price it right, so lets try it" moments. One day I'll play it, I hope. |
