This week was a very special one. I finally found it. The Holy Grail of "official nintendo" gamecube collecting. Only 150 made world wide.

The Pearl Metallic White Final Fantasy Limited Edition:

Also I managed to obtain this EU-Exclusive Mario Club Nintendo Controller - very rare now:

And last but not least, Although I don't really collect unofficial stuff, but I'm certainly thinking about these seeries now.
I found a Desert Storm FoxData I couldn't pass on for 65 Pounds:

That Gamecube... One day... *dreams away*

I'm just wondering, is the console itself or controller anything special? To me it looks like the regular "pearl white" console.
But that box and matching white Gameboy Player are freaking gorgious :D

@Milage - Thx :D

@Kamikaze - I actually thought the same thing. Turns out there actually is a very slight difference.
You can see it while putting the EU-Pearl white onto the Final Fantasy gamecube player.
The Final Fantasy clearly has more shine, I would almost say "glitter" to it.
Hard to catpture on pictures but you can see it on the controller a bit.

That is a very good question.

they are different! SLIGHTLY! You can`t tell them apart unless you hold them next to each other and also aim a bit at the light, you see that the Final Fantasy GameCube is a bit more glossy.

DL: Congradz on those 3 items, they are truly amazing!

That mario controller is sweet, DL.

Received in mail yesterday:

Played it a little tonight, both multiplayer and campaign. Not terrible (and Ivan is pretty cool!)

Went video game hunting yesterday before work and found half a rack of complete (for the most part) Sega Genesis games. While I was tempted to take more, tight budget dictated I could only grab the five I thought would be the most fun.

For the most part, I guessed right. Well okay maybe Sonic & Knuckles wasn't really a guess since I already knew how good the game was, but X-Men 2: Clone Wars and Desert Strike are right up there with it. X-Men 2 is a gigantic improvement over the first game (which I thought was okay) and Desert Strike plays a lot like it's sequel Urban Strike (which was really cool). Spider-Man: The Animated Series is alright I guess. I didn't like how punches were absolutely useless from what I've played, but the kicks and web powers were alright. Certainly a step up from Marvel Software's other game Wolverine: Adamantium Rage.

It's also a step-up from the worst game of the bunch. How should I put this? I own 54 games for the Sega Genesis. I looked at each one, thought about my past experiences with them and came to the conclusion that Instruments of Chaos starring Young Indiana Jones is the absolute worst game I own for the system. Worse than Adamantium Rage. Worse than Fighting Masters. If only I had the time to know what I was picking up. Buying this hunk of junk definitely goes down as one of my biggest video game regrets.

It's also the only one of the five that didn't come with it's manual, so that didn't help much. <_<

Went to the same thrift store from my last post to catch an awesome find on the shelf as well as a woman who had just finished donating her N64 games.

Never thought I would own a copy of Shenmue. Not because it's pricey (though that certainly didn't help), but because a lot of it's gameplay seems to be quick time events. I've never been a fan of those, but even a couple of people who share my feelings towards QTEs still say this is a game worth experiencing. Well... okay I guess. I don't own a Dreamcast yet, but I'll make sure to hold on to this game until I do.

The big catch of the day, though, has to go to Mario Kart 64. I have too many wonderful childhood memories of this game for any other game in this post to take that spot. My dad, who used to only care about those classic Namco arcade games, got back into gaming (sort of) because of Mario Kart 64. Him, my younger brother and I would play this often and, even though he would come in last place almost every single time, we could tell that my dad was really enjoying himself. I can't wait to let him know that I own this game once again.

Oh and I forgot to mention this, but I ordered something online the day I got those other two games in the mail. I should be getting it later on today, so I'll post a pic as soon as it's in my hands.

Nice haul again Envy, and at very good prices. You don't see that often at thrift stores these days.

@Floorcat That is one insane haul you got there! altough i`m a bit disapointed that I don`t see any factory shipping boxes :P

@ Envy Fox. what a deal! you got everything for 1% of the value that is insane!

This month has been one .. weird month, normally it snows .. now it's 60°f.. or I got a new PC. or some holy grail that I bought but now I got nothing. I did not purchase ANYTHING since the 18th of November. which is one heck of an achievement.

I did sold all my double N64 systems, controllers I don`t need, things that had some great value but did not prioritize my collection. But hey , all went well. I had good customers so I think that is the gift I recieved for Xmas =p

all this money goes into the over-over-overpriced shipping of a Virtual Boy Kiosk I`m going to import from Japan. It will be here on the 22nd this month according to FedEx. (ever saw a package of 200x100x80 cm come in the mail? .. well . me either..) I`m kinda nervous

It's been a different collecting month but a great one.

Floorcat - nice pickups. Didn't leave much for anybody else on Black Friday did you? :D

EnvyFox - great scores. Talk about on the cheap as well!!! I am a massive fan of the Shenmue franchise. The storyline is epic it captures you and makes you feel like it's your life. QTE's are alright but there is far more to the game than that including normal combat.

Vinyl - look forward to seeing that. Can't imagine what that must feel like. Wow. It's good that you know the date of arrival.

Picked up copies of Metal Gear Solid V and Assassins Creed Syndicate both for PS4.

Found some good cheap deals on ebay. A lot of the games I buy these day are used off ebay. I really don't like paying full price

Got some more gaming stuff today. First off, that game I ordered online arrived today.

Posted Image

Guess that means I don't need the broken one anymore. I'm so glad that brand new copies of this game are so cheap for PSP. Unfortunately, this doesn't come with all of the cool extras that the PS2 port has, but I had a blast with what little I've played of the main game. Plus, Mr. Grimm actually chucks the skulls at his opponents, which I found a little funny for some reason.

Next, more N64 stuff!

Posted Image

Posted Image

Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to my third charcoal N64 system! Why did I need a third one? I... don't know, but it's in much better aesthetic shape than the one I'm currently using. Maybe it can be another back-up console in case no one in my family wants it. Plus, it came with all of that other nifty stuff (sans South Park) all for one low price! Speaking of South Park, it's another case of my friend talking me into buying a game I didn't really want. He wants us to have as many games shared with each other as possible so that we can one day play through them all. After trying the game out a little, I may have to tell him that, for South Park anyway, that day might never come. :-/

I think I'm going to slow down with all of this "buying new games daily" stuff. Even cheap games can add up if I'm not careful.

Awesome scores Envyfox. Whilst flippers can be annoying, if you see scores for that cheap and then re-sell nobody could ever blame you - just good business. If you have the time might be worth doing that you'll earn a few more bucks to further fund your collection. Cashtag.

Picked up 6 brand new Amiibo and 3 3DS games from a webshop. The 3DS games will be sold to a local pawn shop. After that I paid less then €50 for these Amiibo (instead of €90-100 retail).

The Classic Mario will be opened, the rest is for the collection. 4 more down for the Super Smash set!

Last night I picked up a Christmas present to myself (courtesy of a sweet work bonus) :yeah:

I bought a 500 gig PS4 Star Wars Battlefront Bundle
It of course came with Battlefront, as well as 4 other S.W. retro games that I can't recall the names of. I also picked up Fallout 4, which is what I was really after  also a blue controller and a year of Playstation +

Loving the system and Fallout so far :yeah:

@Stinger... AWESOME!!! :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: Looking forward to seeing your updates on the PSN friend feed!! :yeah:

@Vinyl... You're right, no factory boxes... though to tell you the truth, the Rise of the Tomb Raider CE came in (and has been placed back in) a factory box, but the factory shipping seal was obviously broken then re-sealed prior to shipment, so I figured I might as well snap a pic with it out of the box. ;)

Also... I excluded these from the pictures in my last post since I was planning to sell (and have since already sold) them off:
Assassin's Creed Syndicate Limited Edition (PS4)
Batman: Arkham Knight (PS4)
Dying Light (PS4)
Rainbow Six: Siege Gold Edition (PS4)
Xbox One Elite Wireless Controller

... as well as also having sold these off too (as they've already been replaced by "complete"/GotY editions):
Dragon Age: Inquisition Deluxe Edition (PS4)
Far Cry 4 Limited Edition (PS4)
Lords of the Fallen Limited Edition (PS4)
Now Playing: Clash Royale (mobile), Gravity Rush 2, Rayman Legends, Project CARS, Uncharted 4 Survival Mode ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

Latest pickups. Had a pretty decent Christmas bonus this year so invested a little of it in some N64 goodies. Picked myself up a Jap N64 console so I can play Sin & Punishment. It is the half Watermelon half see through one which means I now have this and the Ice Blue equivalent. I got the seller to knock a bit off his reasonable asking price and throw in Hey You Pikachu as well. I have no real ambition to play this game really I just wanted to drive a hard bargain. This is in good shape and has the original Japanese price stickers on - they are very peelable but I'm leaving them on for authenticity. The yellow microphone sponge piece is missing unfortunately. The console is very tidy the only problem is the front of the box has been penetrated. The console seems hardly used still having the original jumper pack label etc. The control stick is mint though so will always make my day. All in all I'm happy and it now means that I can go ahead and purchase some of the sought after Japanese exclusives.

I also picked up The New Tetris complete at a very reasonable price of £7 delivered.

Spider-Man for the N64 arrived today. Would have delayed my post yesterday if I knew this was going to arrive before Christmas. I'm really surprised given it was in Detroit 3 days ago (I live in Birmingham, England). Had a quick play it seems quite fun.

Marks my 9th NTSC game. Loving the whole red cart. I'm so envious how in the US you have all the cool colour carts.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I am not sure what all I shared on my privacy settings, so if my stuff doesn't show up for you let me know!

I am set on gaming for a while. Fallout should keep me occupied for a good while working with the little free time I get. Down the road I plan to get The Witcher: Wild Hunt, The Last of Us Remast, AC Unity & Syndicate
