this came in the mail today

one of the 4 exclusive PAL EURO games, and the best one of them. this came at the incredible price of 9 euro (+4,5 euro shipping).

best formula one game on the N64. it combines the great handling of monaco grand prix with the great graphics of a WGP. now i can finally retire the horrible F1WGP (can't stand the controls)

i can see me playing this game for years to come 8)

Went back to that thrift store I've been striking big at these past few days and ended up getting a game saved for me as well as another freebie!

Posted Image

Looks like it's all Sega stuff today. One of the cashiers at the store has seen me come into the store looking for games so much that he's actually started looking out for me. When he saw me in the store, he went to the back, went to go find me again and handed me the complete copy of Streets of Rage 2. This is actually an upgrade since I bought the game cartridge only very early in the year. That's not all, though. The cashier saw I was taking an interest in Crazy Taxi. After I told him I decided to come back for it another day, he just told me to take it as a free gift. I really wasn't expecting him to do that for me and I made sure he knew it by thanking him about fifty-leven times.

It's not all sunshine and rainbows, however. First off, the 6-button High Frequency controller flat out doesn't work. As for the 3-button controller, well.. there's something odd about it. The START and A buttons do nothing, the B button functions like it should and the C button performs it's original action... and pauses the game at the same time? Yeah. I don't know what could be wrong with the controller, but I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me why the C button is performing two actions at once. I'll just chalk the 6-button controller up to just needing a new everything.

What started as a slow day for video game hunting ended up being a day full of Sony systems' games finds (with a special guest appearance from one Xbox 360 game :) ).

Outside of Prince of Persia: Revelations (which flat out didn't work... these UMDs are so unreliable), Hold on! Upon a second test, it turns out the game DOES work. I don't know what happened, but I'm not questioning it! Anyway, I'm very happy with my purchases. All of the working games range from pretty good to just being straight up addictive. If I had to choose a favorite going off of the little bit I played, it would be a tie between Magical Racing Tour and Sub Rebellion. So glad I didn't come home empty handed like I predicted. :yeah:

I also ordered a Wii/Wii U AV cable online since the one I have now is starting to crap out on me.

We're going to be busy for some while.

An inspiration? Aw shucks. :-8 Actually, I think anyone can get finds like mine with a little pocket money and a lot of patience.

Well maybe I'm also a bit cheap. That would explain why it took this long to get myself a copy of Mario Kart 64. Still, it's a pretty awesome feeling when biding my time gets rewarded with finding $50+ games for $1. "It's the thrill of the hunt" as Game Chasers' own Billy once said.

Here's to your future sweet finds, dude. :yeah:

@The Red Shadow - Yeah the main reason why I picked it up was due to some gameplay videos I came across online. There's something about Pirates that reminds me of the classic 3d platformer and adventure games I used to play on N64 and PS1. Hopefully, I can clear up enough of my backlog to get to it some day.

@kartmaster: Woah, two great Wii U games right there! Tropical Freeze is seriously underated (and a beautifully demanding platformer). And lots of raving about XCX. Your gaming schedule just got booked for the next few months, lol!

Just one for me this Christmas:

Cool! Man, I've been teetering on Mario Maker for the longest time. Congrats! I'll cave in one of these days.

I just barely started Xeno X tonight. Created a character and played for about 30 minutes. I can already tell this is the kind of game that can destroy my life. Ha ha.

I'm excited for Tropical Freeze as well. I loved DKC Returns, and everyone says this is even better.

And so the backlog grows.

Just picked up Jurassic Park Operation Genesis for the PC. It's missing the manual, but I only paid €2 for it. Worth a gamble.
Finally I'll be able to play it, since I think the PC is the right platform to play this on.

Thank god no. The one I picked up is somewhat Zoo Tycoon like, from what I've heard.
And it's freaking expensive retail...

Welp, the holiday season is over and the days where I could find a plethora of really awesome games for cheap at one time probably went with it. While it was a very slow day for video game hunting (for me anyway), I did not come home empty handed.

Posted Image

Now here's a game I've been meaning to try out for years. Truth be told, I had no idea I was getting a good deal on this until after I bought it. Why the PSP version more expensive than the PS2 port is beyond me, but hey! I'm just glad I was able to come home with something.

Of course, good deals mean nothing if the game itself isn't fun to play, but the reviews I've seen have been promising. Here's to a (hopefully) solid GTA experience on the PSP. :yeah:

Found two Xbox 360 games at a pawnshop today and, I've got to say, they definitely make up for yesterday.

Posted Image

Two games I've been meaning to get for some time now. Splatterhouse is something I've wanted since owning the second game on Sega Genesis and The Walking Dead is a game I've heard many people praise up and down. Sweet! I was surprised that even an incomplete copy of TWD: Collector's Edition like mine was worth so much and even more surprised that the guy behind the counter sold it for the same price as Splatterhouse.

These are most likely my last two video game buys of the year. From the pack of 8 SNES cartridges (one of which has since become one of the most expensive games on the system), the miniature Frogger arcade machine, the two Sega Game Gears, the free PS2 games from my nephew, Shenmue and the cheaply priced N64 games (one of which revived gaming time with my own dad) among other finds, I declare 2015 as my best year as a video game collector. I can only hope the finds get bigger and better in 2016. :yeah:

Last pick ups if the year. Yesterday I picked up a €20 DS Lite lot with a lot of filler titles and 2 Pokemon games (not on the photo, they are loose Diamond and Pearl).

Today, December 31st, picked uo the Gameboy lot of a GBA SP (bad physical condition, but works perfect), 3 GBC (green and yellow missing battery covers), 3 DS Lite chargers, some games and 2 sealed Dragonball trading card decks. The games are a pirate x-in-one, Donkey Kong without label and Pokemon Gold without label. Paid €20 here as well.

I got caught up in some bidding on ebay, like a dumba** and ended up winning Paper Mario and DK64. The wife isn't too pleased but I'm pretty happy with myself. It's my first N64 purchase since 2001.

Well I've officially lost it. I just bought a few single games CIB, Turok Rage Wars and Waverace 64 then I went off the deep end and spent several hundred dollars on a pack of 30 CIB games that are hopefully in as good of condition as he described. I may need to lose my eBay login for a few days.
