Two new DS games today... Iron Chef America: Supreme Cuisine, and New International Track & Field. Both mega-cheap, and both added to the probably-never-going-to-play pile.

DLC counts for this topic, no?
Cuz I gots the LittleBigPlanet Valentine's Day Mini Pack. Actually amazed/happy at how much added stuff they packed into this one (yes, the stuff other than the costume!)
Now Playing: Clash Royale (mobile), Gravity Rush 2, Rayman Legends, Project CARS, Uncharted 4 Survival Mode ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

Er, Wall-e? Really? I'm going to pretend it was a freebie when you purchased something else...

Anyways, I just got Battalion Wars II for Wii, though I haven't broken the shrink wrap yet. The main complaint I've heard about this game is that it is too similar to the first game; my only real complaint about the first game was that it was too short, so being similar probably won't be a problem as I wanted more anyway.

It's not highbrow gaming, that's for sure. ^_^ But's it's alright... I'd rented it a while ago and liked it so I ended up buying the game because it was so cheap. Anyway, weren't you planning on buying a suspect game as well? :P

Maybe we should both claim that they were freebies... :-8 ^_^

Dewey's Adventure isn't a licensed game so it has a much higher chance of not being crap. It's also an exclusive to Wii that isn't a "party" game, meaning that I am supporting original software for Wii.

At least you bought it cheap though, which is also my aim with Dewey's Adventure.

I see what you mean. I wouldn't have bought Wall-E before trying it and I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't crap. Some of the controls are a bit iffy though.

I guess I shouldn't have questioned you. After all, you tried it before you bought it and you also bought it cheap. Maybe you should have said this when you posted the photo so I wouldn't look like an ass by questioning the purchase. That's right, I am SO blaming this one on you. <_<

Just so you know, there are better (or worse?) games that I want which you could have questioned, like, say, Game Party. I want it just because I'm trying to understand why it has sold so well. I mean, it's called Game Party! Who would want something so generic (besides me, although I only want it because everyone else wants it... :eh: ).

^ There's nothing wrong with that.

We seem to share a curiosity for bad games. I've said it before and I think it's true; in order to appreciate what's really good you have to know what's really bad and what's really average as well.

I would quote such a philosophy but you have said it so many times that I have no need to do so.

Let's not rule out that Game Party may actually :D be a :D good  game  . X_D X_D
I knew I couldn't get through that one with a straight face.

But it... ^_^

Nope, me neither. We did try though.

It's occurred to me that I know nothing about this game that I'm happily slagging off. Amazon UK says:

* Play seven of your favorite social games: Darts, Table Hockey, Shuffle Board and Hoops shoot
* Try your hand at variations of classics: Skii Ball, Ping Cup and Trivia
* Play Against your Friends!
* Fun, Easy Controls: Slide your hand forward to hit a hockey puck, take aim and toss your dart at the dart board, use a bowling motion to send your ski ball into a high scoring hoop
* 175 Characters!: 125 unique characters initially available, plus the chance to unlock 50 additional zany characters!
* Classic Venues: Play darts in a British style eatery, hoop shoot in a sports entertainment center, and many more!
* Participate in multiplayer competitions. Form teams to take on the competition and keep track of your progress on the leader board.

Is the game in the US the same? We've also More Game Party, which looks just as... good. ^_^

EDIT= Why is it that every time I hear about "zany characters" I think "s***ty cash-in"?

Nobody really knows what the word "zany" means so that's why it's always used in cash-in games.

Something tells me the 175 character-count is really just 10 characters each with 17 different outfits. Why even bother creating so many characters when they could just enable Mii support?

The sequel just adds more mystery to this game; it was so good that it was worthy of a sequel? Surely some other generic name could have attracted attention, such as Party Games, or Parlor Games, or... Party Parlor Games.

I like Ski Ball. Is there any chance that the controls in the game actually, you know, work?

A slim chance. Maybe that's why it sold well?

I got Metal Arms: Glitch in the System for Gamecube and the original Wipeout for Playstation. :)

Selling Mercenaries 2 for PS3. I got it as a gift after buying the 360 version. There's not much between the two versions but there's less jaggies on the 360 and the control scheme feels better.

I ask again, why do they have L1/R1 as fire buttons in PS3 games, not the L2/R2 triggers? It's frustrating, especially when you can't customise the controls (and you can't in Mercenaries 2).

I once saw that for $4 at GameStop and I'm kicking myself for not buying it then. >_<

I was quite excited when I seen it (I've been after Metal Arms for a few years). I could tell straight away it was gonna be mint, the box looked brand new. Sure enough it was, and the disc is spotless. Only cost £7 as well, so it was a bargain.

When I've played it I'll post what I think. :)

I got Banjo-Kazooie on XBLA today. That was the only N64 game that I missed, and now I can play it again :) Got 18 jiggies for now, I'll probably leave the rest of the game for later though and focus on some others.

You can't tell me that! If I know you're lying then that kind of defeats the purpose.

Anyways, I received Mercury Meltdown Revolution today, though I haven't broken the shrink wrap yet. I'm not sure when I'll get to this as I'm still in the middle of four other games at this point.

Got:

Flower (PS3)

Plays a lot like Flow and is even more beautiful. This is why I have a PS3. :)

Mirrors Edge (PS3)

Not played it yet.

Need For Speed Carbon (Xbox 360)

It's good, if a little old now. Plays like NFS: Most Wanted. And that's a good thing. :)

Not a game, but last night I bought a few official strategy guides for dirt cheap, as I accidentally stumbled into an EB Games clearance. I picked up the following guides for about $8.00 each:

-Final Fantasy XII
-Starcraft
-Dragon Quest VIII
-Hitman: Contracts
-Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (second hand - $2.00)

They're all beautifully written and are real fan to just read through. The Ocarina of Time one brings back a lot of memories. :)

...and be re-born a testosterone-powered FPS-lovin' completely-alien/impervious-to-motion-sickness type gamer. That would be sweet. Frickin' FLOWER for christ's sake.

I haven't gotten it yet, but Flower looks beautiful. Actually I haven't bought a game in awhile.

I've recently cut my game collection pretty much in half. I have about 10 more things to post on eBay too over the next few days too. There's quite a few strangling game stuff sitting around though now that has like no value. I mean, who wants a copy of Freedom Force, seriously? I've also realized that I have a lot of books that I don't really need. I need to find a place to donate them or something.

It comes up as an option before you even load the game. Still only played the first few missions. I worried that it might be short (like the Fallout 3 dlc) but apparently it's 8-10 hours long! Totally f***ing sweet. :D
