Well, if these finds from yesterday have taught me one thing, it's to never judge a game by it's cover. ![]() ![]() Story time. I already had everything but Brain Age in my shopping cart for a bit when I remembered that thrift stores around my neighborhood get games stolen regularly. Not wanting to buy an empty case, I took Donkey Konga out of the cart and opened it up. To my surprise, I find this. ![]() Well I'll be! A second Donkey Kong game inside of the case! Actually, the game would have hit the floor had I not caught it in time. Looks like this is a 2-for-1 deal. No need to tell the cashier about it. Now if only I can find some bongos...Oh but that doesn't even compare to my catch of the day. When I was ready to pay for all of my stuff, I got in line. Most of the gaming stuff is placed on the racks right next to the cashiers, so I was able to take one last good look. I saw Brain Age and, while I usually wouldn't go for games like these, something inside of me said "well... it DOES have it's case... I guess I can finally pick this one up." I took it off of the rack, opened the case to make sure the game was inside and... ![]() Oh poo. I wanted Brain Age. Only kidding! I couldn't believe a Pokemon game was sitting inside! And to think that I almost passed it up. After that, I got out of line and checked all of the game cases that I didn't see there before that day. While there were a few others without the correct game inside, the games themselves weren't rare or good enough for me to buy them without their proper case. I then paid for my stuff and walked out.The only negative here is NES Play Action Football. I'll be frank: buying this game was a mistake. Players move too slow and I can never get receivers to catch a single ball. It doesn't help that I slightly overpaid for the thing. Where's Tecmo Bowl when I need it? Prices: Spoiler: click to toggle

@EnvyFox: Ha, those too were two of the most commonly owned bad NES games back when I was a kid. Thankfully, Top Gun 2 and Tecmo Bowl and Tecmo Super Bowl came along |

Actually, that Top Gun game IS Top Gun 2 (or The Second Mission as the label calls it). I know it's tough to see and even I thought it was the first game until after I left the store. They really should have made the two labels stand out from each other more.

2 very decent games Stinger. Syndicate is better imo, but I still had heaps of fun with Unity. Picked up a copy of Telltale Games Tales from the Borderlands today. Heard many good things about this game and by all reports is one of Telltales best. I'm looking forward to playing it this weekend. |

Haven't updated this in a while... I've been busy with work. Got several awesome pickups and more are on the way. Paper Mario has been tons of fun and I've really enjoyed getting back into Rainbow Six, except I'm stuck on the level where you can't kill anyone and you have to sneak through. That level sucks.![]()

As you may have noticed, I have an affinity for that classic NES controller design, which led to this acquisition, a NES30 Pro.![]() ![]() It's a bluetooth controller that is intended for PC, Mac and mobile use, but it does connect with the Wii as well. And there is an adapter in the works that would allow for use with my NES. After it pairs, it glows!

That does look pretty cool, lets us know how good/bad it is when you have time to play with it. Got GOW for fathers day and Zelda - links awaking DX for the 3DS in the current sale. never played this before so looking forward to it.

Picked myself up this beauty. Cheeky Daiei Hawks. Very minty. Cost a few quid, but far cheaper than eBay prices, and I managed to sell my Jap half Watermelon half clear N64 for a third of the price of the Daiei which was a massive boost. I love the look of this console. It's great. See my gallery of how well it fits in on my display. Don't get too jelly. ![]() ![]() |

@buddy1983 - I hope you enjoy Link's Awakening DX as much as I am right now. There were a few questionable design choices when it came to item management and some of the bosses are far too easy, but the rest of the game has been a blast so far.

The game, the myth, the (mega man) legend:![]() I'm happy to report that I popped it in and my Wii U did not "brick" or require a hard reset as the game loaded and updated. I only had a few minutes to sample, and it seemed encouraging. Look forward to playing and forming my own opinions about the game (rather than the circumstances that surrounded its development and release). |

I'm actually intrigued enough to pick it up for PS4 down the road. I think (and possibly hope) that this game might suffer from reverse hype syndrome where instead of being overly hyped and built up to be so amazing that it has no chance to live up to the expectations, it is rather going to be saddled with so much negative hype that it might turn out to be pretty good in comparison to said negative hype. I'll be eager to hear your impressions, BDR, and anyone else on the forum who might be picking it up.

@Red: I'll be sure to let you know. I did find this review refreshing particularly since he doesn't mention "kickstarter" once. It's worth it just to hear this dude's take on the perceived difficulty of the game (starts at 2:15 mark). |

Forgot to mention I added a few titles the other day. Taz is by far the best. I must admit the Madden games are pretty whack, but I knew these had pretty poor reviews. They are more shelf fillers. They were pretty cheap.

Two more pick-ups from today; Two more amiibo. One more off the Kirby-list. And with Greninja I completed the Super Smash set. Bought only one from a reseller (Villager) and ordered a few only (probably 6 or 7). But still, it's complete ![]() Picked up these from a charity shop. Bought 3 Zelda button sets at €1 each and bought the cup at €0,40. Worth it! ![]() Edited by Kamikaze, Jun 28 2016, 12:05 PM.
