Saint's Row 2: Collector's Edition (PS3), Yakuza 2 (PS2), and Sonic Chronicles (DS) were all on sale, so were given a purchase, all thanks to an unyielding "but-it's-on-sale" weakspot. Noby Noby Boy (PSN) was pretty cheap to begin with, so that got acquired too. Moon (DS) and Braid (XBLA) both had a recent price drop, and were added to a physical and not-so-physical collection, respectively. Madworld (Wii) couldn't help but be pre-ordered, at $10 lower than MSRP. and... The passive-voice and third-person is hereby to be used as exclusively as possible by floorcat. As is the word "hereby". |

Act your age, The Red Shadow! I seriously don't understand the popularity of SpongeBob. That's the worst cartoon of the modern era by far. Anyways, I stopped into GameStop today to check out their selection of GameCube games. They had Mario Party 4, 5, and 6, but they were $30 each! They had no shortage of Zelda: Twilight Princess, yet they're still charging $40 for that. They also had one of the Ocarina of Time Master Quest thingies, but I didn't want to pay $30 just for a slightly remixed OoT. They had a couple copies of Geist for $7, which was tempting. Has anyone here played it? Is it any good? I ended up with Wario World and WarioWare: Mega Party Game$. Wario World doesn't have a manual, but it was slightly less than half of what I'd seen it go for on eBay so I don't care. I've never played any of the WarioWare games before so I wanted to check one out. |

Geist is quite average and didn't live up to it's potential. It has some good ideas but it's still nothing special. For $7 it's maybe worth a try? WarioWare is quite mad, as you'd expect, but it looks terrible. It's meant to look like a Game Boy game but I think that's a bit of a cop-out for a console title... Regardless, the gameplay is fun and frantic, and it was a budget title when it came out. I'd recommend the DS game over the Gamecube game, though. Wario World is short but fun. It didn't sell all that well which is a shame cos it's actually quite quite good, if a little simplistic. |

I want the Wii version of WarioWare but I'm waiting for the price to come down, so I got this as a sort of gauge on the series. If I don't like it or something I could probably sell it on eBay for more than what I paid for it. They also had Dakar 2 for $7, is that worth it? In other news, recently I sold Doom for the Game Boy Advance. I'm not going to say how much I got for it, but $30 is a lot for a piece of sh*t game and it makes me kind of feel like I ripped the person off... |

Totally! It's one of the Cube's best racing games. Snap that one up! ![]()
Nice one mate. i should have listened to you before I bought it but a portable version of Doom seemed so appealing! Shame it doesn't work so well. The DS could probably run a decent port of Doom, maybe we'll see that one day.

You bought your GBA Doom used for cheap though right? I bought it new. So ouch. If you're still itching for a portable Doom, then try to track down Doom II for the GBA. It is a much better port in that it not only functions quite well, but it includes all of the content of the PC version. All full-sized levels (even the two secret levels), all weapons, all enemies, everything. The graphics are of course scaled back a bit, mostly in being more pixelated, and the blood is green, but you won't care because it plays just as well. |

I'd like to use the excuse that my daughter loves SpongeBob so the games are really for her but...I'm enjoying The Battle for Bikini Bottom and she won't be able to really play these games for a couple years. Hey, they're mindless fun which is a nice alternative to some of the games I play, like RPGs, and I haven't been able to sit down with any other games and concentrate on them in such a long time. So I'm getting into it for the moment.

New game blowout: Resident Evil 5 (360) Persona 4 (PS2) Driv3r (PS2) Driver Parallel Lines (PS2) Ghost Recon 2 (Xbox) And.... eBay is pissing me off. Why do eBay sellers think that "excellent condition" means "box looks alright so it doesn't matter if the disc is scratched to f***". Un-f***ing-acceptable, as I might say to increase my swear-per-post quota. |

Madworld found its way into my collection yesterday... so now I have a nice little STACK of "core" Wii games already (with HotD:Overkill, Deadly Creatures)... urge to play Madworld is definitely high. Hopefully those among us who whine about Nintendo being overly casual-catering (not overtly excluding myself here) have managed to pick up at least ONE of the mentioned titles.

PS3 has an different control scheme (do you prefer to shoot with the bumper or triggers, if trigger then get the 360 version, if bumpers then get PS3) apart from that there's f*** all except for exclusive costumes. Gamespot showed a weird texture glitch with the PS3 version but I've never noticed it. See the comparison here: http://uk.gamespot.com/features/6202552/p-2.html |
