 This has definitely been a crazy couple weeks. The Vita, games, memory card and case were from a trade so I was only $40 out of pocket. I haven't played most of the games because I've been too busy blowing through LBP Vita.  Sunshine was a whopping $36 though. I used trade credit on it (local shop) but still, getting ridiculous. I love Little Big Planet, as it was the game that convinced me to get a PS3 in 2008. Still haven't played 3 yet, but I can say Vita is way better than the PSP effort. I'm going to try to start getting into some of the other games now, especially since I'd like to get DQ Builders soon, and if the demo is good, World of Final Fantasy. |

Harvest Moon 64 landed. Pretty minty. Very slight squashing but I can't straighten it because the box still has the original seal on (it has just been sliced with a knife at the opening end). Going to leave this on and it is all inside a plastic protector now. It even has the original receipt in here from the UK from 2000 for £51.99 so I can only imagine a shop had a few copies imported or something? The condition is like new inside everything looks and smells fresh so it must have been sold as new here I presume. I bought this primarily for the collectability but it is actually quite an enjoyable game from what I have played so far.

A couple things today: This finally hit $20 so I could hold off no longer  And I hope this headset works better than the last one I bought. I'm not even buying this for console, it'll be mainly used on my PC. The cheaper, wired headset I've been using for 3 years now has been great but it is showing signs of age so I needed a replacement and this was on clearance for half off the original price of $60. The last replacement was quickly returned for lackluster audio quality.  |

I've been slowly building my original Xbox collection back up.  I've been looking for GunValkyrie for over a year, and today my preferred retro shop happened to have two of them. Sadly it, like the other Smilebit titles, won't work on my Xbox since it's a 1.6 and I use component cables, so I'll have to pick up an older revision console (they show up for cheap in thrifts all the time). But at least I have it, and it was only $7. (I guess I could play it in 480i, but...meh) Sonic Heroes/SMBDeluxe combo is somewhat of a rarer game to find, like a lot of the later Platinum Hits releases, so finding it for $3 was nice. The 1.6 used a different video encoder chip, and there were some games that won't work on it when you're running the console in 480p or greater resolutions. |

Finally been able to shoot a picture of my latest note-worthy pick up. Got this from fellow forum member Vinyl  Got a really good deal, but won't name a price. Got this and some small items, like a metal-like kirby figurine.

The original Xbox is weird that way. Because Microsoft was mostly using off the shelf PC parts, even two consoles may not perform the same way due to part variations. And they lost money hand over fist on the hardware so there was a lot of cost cutting. I think Microsoft figured having four games that didn't work (Panzer Dragoon Orta, GunValkyrie, Jet Set Radio Future, and Fable) in the progressive scan mode (which wasn't widely used in the time the console was on the market) was probably just an acceptable tradeoff to lowering production costs. They do work in 480i mode. |

I don't use mine for much more than Tetris, and I'm perfectly happy with that TBH. I wish NA got the nicer Final Fantasy cover art that EU/JP gets. |

Picked up Majora's Mask 3D today. I'd been waiting to grab it and finally picked up a used copy with some trade credit. Probably won't get to it this year since I need to finish Wind Waker and go through Twilight Princess first. |

Can you believe this is my first ever gameboy  Planning on doing a backlight mod on it as I forgot just how bad the screen is. Has anyone done this mod before, easy/hard?
