Went video game hunting today and came back with more stuff than I thought I would.![]() ![]() While Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z might be the "catch of the day" in the more traditional sense, New Super Mario Bros. wins it this time for my own special reason. A complete copy of New Super Mario Bros. seems to be around the $14 mark on eBay which is a great price. However, due to my personal gripes with the website, eBay is simply not an option for me. In NSMB's case, this is a shame since Amazon and GameStop (my only options for a sure chance at getting a game like this) has the cartridge alone going for around $30. In fact, I went to a GameStop today (which is where I got ZombiU and Mega Man Star Force 2) and the $32 price tag killed any thoughts of me picking this game up today. So then how did I get my hands on a complete copy? Would you believe me if I said it was from that same antique shop I've been getting my recent NES games from? I visited there shortly after GameStop and Value Village and, while the normal case of games I frequent didn't have anything new, another case in the back had two DS systems on top of a very small stack of complete DS games including not one but TWO copies of NSMB! I asked the cashier to open the case so I can get one of the copies but was surprised to find no price tags on any of the games. Not to worry as the cashier called the case owner and asked for the price and, wouldn't you know, he wanted the eBay price for the game! In a special situation such as such, I was more than happy to fork over the dough. ![]() I know this doesn't seem amazing to those who buy from eBay regularly or have seen dozens of copies of NSMB sitting around flea markets but, for someone who previously felt like their only choice was to pay ridiculous prices for the cartridge alone, getting the entire package for half the price is a terrific feeling. Here are some of my latest 64 pickups. I am only a good 55 or so off a full PAL set now. Crazy. What started off as picking up some of the great titles to add to my originals has snowballed into a full set (almost).

Gamehunting paid off again. Most of the finds in the picture below. Not included are a cart only Diddy Kong Racibg a friend found for me, and a Gameboy Color with Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow, Silver, Sapphire, TCG and Super Mario World 2 we picked up late at night yesterday.![]() The Tribal SP has a cracked, but fixable body. Both are 001-models and have no chargers. The DMG Gameboy has a corroded battery compartment. The SNES haas no cables (but I have spares). Prices in the spoiler below. Spoiler: click to toggle

@Milage: nice acquisitions! Cyber Tiger is really fun (for a golf game) and Castlevania: LoD is pretty rare/pricey here. @Kamikaze: someone was busy game hunting. Nice haul! Love to see that Tribal SP post-sticker removal. |

I'm also wondering what the Tribal SP will look like with the stickers gone. But first I need to figure out what cleaning agent to use. I don't want to rub off the print. Update; it cleaned up really nice. Just slight scratches on the previously not covered part. Also turned out I did not have this special edition (while having the Zelda, Kingdom Hearts and NES versions), so I'll be keeping it as well. Edited by Kamikaze, Apr 3 2017, 07:41 AM.

A couple goodies from the Wal-Mart clearance bin and the sequel to a beloved Sega Saturn classic.![]() ![]() Well it took a LOT longer than expected but I finally got around to getting myself a copy of Sunset Overdrive and a brand new one at that. Funny thing about it is there was another new copy of the game in that very same bin but I'm guessing it was put there at a much earlier date because it had a $25 price tag on it. Holy smokes! And the sensor bar isn't even exempt from this as there was a second one near the bottom for $8 and the box for it was so torn up they might as well had thrown it away and just wrapped all of the sensor bar pieces with a rubber band. Very happy to get the better deal on these two for sure. Now NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams is an odd one. So many people absolutely loved NiGHTS: Into Dreams for the Sega Saturn but the Wii sequel got more mixed reactions. Still, it's a game I've been meaning to try for the longest time and Goodwill has finally given me that opportunity. Besides, it's not like I own a Saturn anyway. One thing I can say I love was NiGHTS voice in the game. Something about it made me crack up a little. "Du-a-lize." Prices: Spoiler: click to toggle

Thanks BDR! Yeah this Castlevania is pricey in the UK too. Another forum member (Intendall) managed to score it pretty cheap and passed that benefit on to me at cost which was very generous of him. I actually had a good 20 mins or so on Cyber Tiger at the weekend and I really did enjoy it. It is definitely one of the better golf games that I have played. I think it's a very nice looking game as well the box art is great. It is a hard title to find in the UK so definitely a welcomed addition. |

Not going to do a lot of pics this time since it's been a while and I don't want to post 15. ![]() Recently: Xbox 360 DarkStar One Too Human Rainbow Six Vegas Quantum of Solace Sega Saturn Courier Crisis Shining the Holy Ark X-Men vs Street Fighter Fighting Vipers Virtual On Then the more recent stuff: ![]() ![]() ![]() Most of it's mundane-ish, but I was super excited to get Courier Crisis CIB for a good price. It's very much a precursor to Crazy Taxi. Sega Touring Car Championship is likewise one I've been after for a while, not in the best shape but it works. Absolutely spectacular game. Just one game to share today from me but it is one I've wanted to try for years.![]() Now I actually got a loose copy of this game last July (which I posted about here along with a whole bunch of other stuff) but the UMD was so busted up that neither one of my PSPs could play it. While the simple solution would have been to grab any PSP Madden game and switch the cases out, a complete copy of Dissidia is so cheap I decided to just order another copy on Amazon instead. This one came in almost untouched condition and, from what little I played before having to head off to work, well worth the money spent. I guess I can just give my loose copy to my friend for him to fix (he's much better at using tools than I am). I was also a bit worried about how the game was getting to me. Amazon's own delivery service was in charge of this one and I have heard horror stories about delivery drivers just chucking packages on people's lawns or giving up on the delivery despite the buyer giving them directions over the phone. Fortunately, the lady delivering my game was just as professional as you can possibly ask for and equally as nice. With how fragile these UMDs are, thank goodness. Prices: Spoiler: click to toggle

I tried to get into Dissidia but couldn't. It does seem like a well made game however. PSP games in general tend to be cheap in my experience. Couple more arrivals today. I ordered these about three weeks back but there was some kind of issue with the seller, took over two weeks to actually ship them. ![]() Some of these were just to get complete versions of games I had, but Last Bronx is one I've been looking for for a while. It was a late release and it's been getting both expensive & hard to find complete. Finally saw it for a good price and jumped on it. Edited by The White Falcon, Apr 7 2017, 03:47 PM.

First time commenting in this section as I am now entering the game All of these are from the past 4-5 days so it's been an expensive busy one haha ![]() Played and completed Lego City Undercover on the Wii U a while ago but I thought I'd pick this up to keep me occupied after I complete BOTW. Really wanted the coloured joy cons on the Switch launch day but had to settle with the black ones so I found them in GAME today and used my points on my reward card and got them for £42.68. Also got Snipperclips included with this ![]() Picked a lot of these up today. Decided to go down to Belfast and check out a few retro game shops I'd researched online and found myself in one called Game Trader. Got Turok 2 for £4, ECW £3, Vigilante 8 £7, Metroid Prime and Mario Golf were £10 each. I also got two really nice gameboys in great conditon, £25 for the advance and £18 for the color though its missing the battery cover on the back. Whilst I was at it I thought I may as well pick up another timeless classic to go along with it and got Pokemon Blue for £12! Duke Nukem, Donkey Kong, Star Wars, Lylat Wars, Command and Conquer and the rumble pak are all ebay purchases. Donkey Kong came with the expansion and tool as well for £55 and the box is in very good condition, the other boxes I'm a bit iffy on which has led me to this.. ![]() Wasn't too keen on the tattiness of some of the boxes so after looking around I found a seller online who makes his own. I got all four together for £5.99 each and I'm really happy with them going forward and as I'm at the very early stage of my collection I'm thinking about continuing with these boxes Edited by death_stroke, Apr 7 2017, 06:14 PM.

Nice pickups death_stroke! I did not know about the snipper clips promotion, nice one! I'm a big fan of those cases. They are called Universal Game Cases (UGCs). If you want to do this in bulk and save money, they can be found online and the covers can too on sites like the CoverProject.net. Not a bad price though to save you the trouble. |

I finally jumped on the Retropie bandwagon. ![]() This is a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B with a 64GB SD card. Here are the USB controllers that I'll be using with it. That's a Hori Fighting Commander for the PS3/PS4/PC, Xbox 360 wired controller and an Xbox 360 arcade fightstick. Some of you may remember my previous Street Fighter IV fightstick that I modded with a Sanwa lever and buttons. Well I sold that one off at a slight profit so the one in the box is a virgin unit that I may put a Seimitsu lever in. While the Sanwa JLF lever did feel like a precision instrument, I always found its throws to be a bit too long. I hear the Seimitsu LS32's throws are a tad shorter which will probably suit my tastes better. I also ordered a USB iBuffalo SNES style pad for use with the Raspberry Pi. I'll post a picture of it when it arrives. |

Scored one of the coolest N64 posters I've ever seen. Majora's Mask poster circulated a year before 9/11. Really ominous with the moon hovering over the twin towers.

Here are my pick ups since my last post including a couple of clearance buys.![]() Rodea the Sky Soldier is a game I wanted for a while now but, when it first came out, I decided to pass on it due to the overwhelmingly negative review scores of the Wii U version not knowing that the Wii version it came bundled with was better recieved until it was too late (the bundled copies were already off store shelves by then). However, I came across a "new" (new = what's left of the torn up shrinkwrap still covered the part where the case opened) in the Wal-Mart clearance bin recently and swooped it up. After playing a few levels of the Wii version, I can say I have no regrets. Triforce Heroes is currently on clearance at GameStop and I took advantage of getting a Zelda game for a low price. The reason why I waited for the price drop was because I knew this one played more like Four Swords and didn't want to pay full price for a Zelda game with mainly just the dungeons but I've gotta say the online multiplayer is one of the most fun online experiences I've had period. It's also going to be a nice game to pull out if I want to get my Zelda fix without wanting to dedicate hours upon hours on an epic adventure. Prices: Spoiler: click to toggle

Cheers bluedogrulez! will have to check that site out. Going forward I'll definitely be using those cases today I was picking up a few things in town for my nieces birthday next week and I took a different route back to the car when I came across what looked like a second hand bookshop. An Oasis book caught my eye in the front window so I went in and what I found in the back room was such a surprise. To my delight there were quite a lot of old N64/megadrive/snes/nes games and a few consoles all at relatively cheap prices.. I just wish I had more money on me at the time but heres what I picked up.. ![]() ![]() All the cart only games were £3!! Wrestlemania has writing on the back but that won't bother me so much. Got Sonic for my mega drive for £5 comes with manual and my biggest steal of the day was Perfect Dark £20 too! Will definitely be returning to this shop in future.I also picked up a pikachu controller earlier this week off ebay for 29.99. It's in really good condition
