The Wii is right up there with the N64 in the list of Nintendo's best consoles. Don't ever sell it!

I don't usually condone emulation but for certain SNES games like Star Fox 2 you really don't have any other economic choice.

or go the route with an snes everdrive (or whatever the name is). at least you keep original hardware without ruining your budget.

I have one already. That's why I sold my Snes stuff which started this little conversation. I don't have time to delve into other consoles right now because I'm so deep in N64 stuff and probably will be for at least another year but I'm sure the Wii is good too.

Sold off my Super Nintendo Collection yesterday for $150 though it was an admittedly small collection with just basic stuff. I've had an sd2snes for nearly 2 years so my games weren't doing anything aside from the ones the sd2snes can't play like Doom, Starfox, Yoshi's Island, and Super Mario RPG, but I'm not going to play them again anytime soon and if I do I can just join the emulation crew. I'm not sure if I'll regret the decision or not.
I'm not a big fan of emulation but it does have its place. I think if you have got a collection of whatever sort and you are happy with it, then anything extra to that is expendable. I've sold extra stuff over the years like Mega Drive games I picked up cheap years ago and I don't regret selling them because I want to play them, just slight regret as one or two are worth a lot more now and you think I could have earned a bit more inflation adjusted. But I was happy at the time to sell them, so if you were happy to offload, you probably won't feel bad about. You could always pick another one up anyway they are not exactly like gold dust. That said if you're happy emulating there is no real need or sense when you look at the cost comparison, unless you crave that nostalgic feel of using originals which I always have a rush for, for better or worse.

I'd say I lucked out this time. Went to a gamestore to buy the Hyrule Warriors Legends limited edition, because I needed the compass for a cosplay set for my girlfriend. Came home with a little more. Everything is brand new sealed, some extra games for the WiiU set. There was also a Hometown Story for 3DS, but the girlfriend claimed it already.

Latest addition below. HSV Adventure Racing - an AUS PAL exclusive - basically a variant of Beetle Adventure Racing, sproosed up packaging and a few different motor vehicles I believe. I am yet to give the game a good play so cannot comment further beyond that at this stage. It is generally considered as part of a "full PAL" set in the 243 games which include the 4 PAL AUS exclusives we never had in Europe: HSV, Snowboard Kids 2, Starcraft 64 and Ken Giffrey Jr Major League Baseball.

This came all the way from Australia they are not common at all in the UK so quite hard to pickup. Most copies that are in the UK will be in collector's hands. Some guy from the land down under messaged me on Instagram and in conversation mentioned if I needed anything from Australia he would be happy to help. I mentioned this title and we went from there. This is a guy who I would now consider a friend and a good ally in Australia. Nice to know there are good genuine people out there offering help to fellow collectors.

That HSV is really nice. It's in my list as well, but I have the same problem; no availability...

Also; as for a full PAL set, do not forget the Zelda OoT Collector's edition (gold box/cart), also a AUS exclusive within the PAL-region.

They are not overly tricky to come by in Australia, but as Cabanon has stated it is not the cheapest title. I imagine the extra demand from Europe to acquire this title as with the other AUS PAL exclusives is what is helping to inflate the price with supply fixed at a relatively low level I imagine.

As for the Zelda OoT gold cart it is a nice variant but as it is just an alternative edition I personally wouldn't feel the need to own it in my collection but can understand your point. It is very nice looking but as the game is no different to my OoT there's no need for me to splash on that. One did sell near me recently very mint but was not cheap at all.

I might have to go to ebay for the HSV and wait a little for a good deal.

As for OoT, I see your point, specially since it is expensive. I waited for it for a long time as well, but in the end found one for a really good deal (paid 35% of the ebay price)

Couple pickups, I wanted a physical copy of ME1 on PS3, and the Trilogy is the only way to get it, so when I saw a sale I pounced.

The Power Base Mini is a cart-sized version of the Power Base Converter for the Genesis to play Master System games.

I splurged ($7.99) for "Last Resort" on the Switch eShop. It's a Neo-Geo shmup that seems a bit tough but visually arresting.

Here are my pick ups since my last post including a little something from my childhood.

The two biggest catches for me are Silent Hill: Shattered Memories and the Jeopardy LCD game. Shattered Memories because it's a game I've been meaning to try after initially dismissing it for the game's lack of combat and the Jeopardy handheld because my family owned this thing when I was a mere child. If memory serves, we bought it at some supermarket and would play this constantly although, due to not knowing things, my brother and I would usually score in the negatives. Didn't stop us from trying to win fake cash prizes, though. ;)

As for the other three games, Super Paper Mario was an upgrade purchase (now I own a proper Wii case for the game as well as it's manual), the demo disc was bought for the War of the Monsters demo alone and Spider-Man: Friend or Foe was bought by accident. I mistook FoF for Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, an action game that let you choose between rejecting the symbiote's influence or embracing it. This is just some simple beat 'em up game (or so I've heard) but answer me this: did WoS get the 2007 Editor's Choice award for excellence in design by Children's Technology Review!? I don't think so! Point FoF! :w00t:

A new pick up from me. Traded in another stack of PC games to a gamestore and got some games in return. The stack of 18 games included Diablo 2 with expansion, Diablo 3, Black & White with expansion, Guildwars and a big box of Quake.

Got these in return. Warioware is a game I have been looking for, for a little while. Didn't want to pay retail, as it is just filler to me (I don't like the Warioware games). Both Tiger Woods games are obvious filler. The Timon & Pumba snes game is something I've never seen before, although it is not expensive. The SimCity 2000 book was a gift from the store owner, since I mentioned buying the big box of SimCity 2000 for pc.

My primary PS3's been acting a little cranky lately, so I decided to upgrade to a Slim, and went for one of the special editions from Japan.

Weekend update! Didn't find a single thing yesterday, but today was all worth it. One big haul amd some good finds on the side.
Sadly the N64 gives a blinking light, so it needs some fixing. If someone can help me troubleshoot, please let me know. I have no experience with the N64 on repairs.

Posted Image

Small finds:
- Jade Empire (sealed) €2,
- Black Ops steelcase €2,
- Kingdom Hearts €2 (no manual),
- Metroid Prime Hunters (full game, not the demo) €4,
- Banjo Tooie & Mario Party €40

And the big lot. Paid €50 for everything and made sure to get out of there asap;
- Regular Monopoly,
- The new Disney monopoly,
- SpongeBob monopoly,
- Pikachu N64 with minty controllet. Console needs some work,
- Pokemon Snap,
- Pokemon Stadium 1 & 2,
- GBA SP 001 model. Pretty beaten, no charger,
- Super Smash Bros Brawl,
- Mario Kart Wii (gave that one away already),
- Sonic Heroes (GC),
- Sonic DX,
- Mario Kart Double Dash,
- Sonic Gems Collection (GC) disk only,
- Crash Bandicoot (PS2) disk only,
- Black Ops 3 (xbox one) disk only,
- Need for Speed 2015 (PS4) disk only,
- Empty GC cases for Avatar, Shadow the Hedgehog and Mario Party 5 (finally a black label!)

EDIT: It seems the console lights always blink when starting. I assumed a blinking light ment it was broken or not reader games (thanks to the NES, remember?). It works perfectly fine! Score!

Me and my boy had a blast with 2P Grand Prix (as teammates). Getting online for Party Mode has been a fail so far notwithstaning the new hardwire connection. I'll cut Ninty some slack...sure they have it cleared up in a few hours.

Edit: it was my bad. DNS settings had to be updated. Now rock solid connection.

Got it lightly used, with BotW + guide + case. Quite pleased TBH, paid less what it would have cost me to buy it all new.

I am, and so far the only complaint is that the Joycons are a bit small...I see why the Pro Controllers are selling so well. :D

I bought third party grips for the joycons that have a molded back and they rock. Less than $10 on Amazon prime and even come with thumbstick covers.

Hey I'm back with some pick ups from this last week including one I thought I'd never pick up.

Posted Image
Posted Image

So I'm not sure if I've ever mentioned this here but I wasn't a fan of the first Pikmin. I played it as a preteen/very young teenager once and didn't want any part of the series afterward. But here's the crazy thing: I've been trying to remember what it was I didn't like about Pikmin and, after years of on and off searching for an answer, I honestly couldn't find one. I mean it's true I'm no fan of real-time strategy games but Pikmin is nothing like Age of Empires II for example. And so, I went to my local Wal-Mart and picked up the sole copy of Pikmin 3 to see if I've changed my mind about the series and, after playing through the first in game day, I couldn't help but realized I had enjoyed myself. I'm glad I gave the series another chance and will be looking out for other Pikmin games in the future.

Don't have much to say about the other Nintendo games, so let's move on to those PS2 fighting games from two days ago and, well, I've already beaten most of them (just have Hyper Street Fighter II on the Anniversary Collection to go). They were all lined up at Goodwill waiting for a fighting game fan like myself to take them to a loving home. I've already posted my thoughts on the games in another thread here so all I'll say is CvS2 and SFAC are must buys while CFE is only worth it if the price is low and you're willing to lower your expectations.

EDIT: Whoops! Forgot to add Tak and the Power of Juju to the pictures! Nothing much to say about this one either except I kind of wanted it back when it first released. Anyway, it's listed under "Not Shown" in the price list.
