Took a while to arrive, lovely little JPN/EUR exclusive that SCEA felt Americans didn't want since it was filthy 2D.

So I did another trade with my favorite game store. Traded in some overstock I had (multiple dublicates already or just no space to store it). Most notably a complete Commodore Amiga with screen, Klonoa for the Wii (no manual), some decent ps2 games (Resident Evil, Crash Bandicoot), a lot of big box pc games and a stack of Power Unlimited gaming magazines. On value, he got the better end of the deal, but that's okay since he has to run the store and live from it. I paid very little for what I traded in, so I am very happy.

NES Spy vs Spy
Snes F-zero CIB
N64 Star Wars ep 1 Racer (box and game, needed just the box)
NGC The Hulk
NGC Crash Tag Team Racing
NGC Pokemon XD (no manual)
DC Crazy Taxi
Atari 2600 Mario Bros silver label (pretty darn expensive game)
1996 Tomb Raider figure, not in the picture. Sadly not complete, but didn't notice that until later.
Manuals for Elmo's 1,2,3 (GBC), Spyro (GBA), Pokemon Box (NGC, uncommon!), DKC 2 (snes) and Pac-Man World.
And at the next convention I can bring a stack of disks to get polished for free. That's one that's always part of the deal haha.

Well I finally got some free time to post what I've bought since my last post. Was able to pick up a few games I've wanted for some time as well as a console first.

Posted Image

Unfortunately, almost every game here has a different reason for me buying them which would take too long to explain so I'll just draw attention to Name This Game. Why? Because it's my first Atari 2600 game. I was so confused by the game's name that I just had to have it (it also helps that the game was super cheap). Turns out US Games ran a contest so that the gamers can give it a proper name (and receive a $10,000 prize) all while releasing the game with the title shown here as some kind of place holder. Before the contest finished, though, US Games went out of business and an official name was never given here in the states. However, I'm sure some of you guys in the PAL region recognize the cover art and know it was given the name Octopus over there. For anyone who has played this game (regardless of region), is the game really as mediocre as reviews make it out to be? I don't have an Atari 2600 so I can't play it for myself but, judging by some gameplay videos I've seen online, the game looks like it'd be pretty fun if a bit simplistic. I don't know.

I was donating some clothes to a charity shops yesterday morning and spotted this complete console (with 2 controllers) on my way out. Only cost a fiver which I think is a bargain, box is beat up but luckly my dad kept my old PS2 box which is in almost perfect condition.

I was at another convention today. Not a whole lot worth buying sadly, didn't spent a ton of cash. Passed on a beat-up CIB Zelda ALTTP at a decent price, but I passed on it because I wanted a better condition one. Also passed on Zelda's Adventure for the CD-i, again, as it is too expensive.

Yet I picked up two good WiiU games and something I wanted for a long time; the 1999 Tiger Pokedex.

About time for another update! Unfortunately, I overpaid for most of the stuff here but I enjoyed what little I've played of each game and did manage to get a deal on at least one of these games.

Posted Image

Wow. If this isn't possibly the most random group of games I've ever posted here, I don't know what is. Anyway, I'm very happy to finally own both Shadow of the Colossus and Mortal Kombat but for different reasons. SotC for the classic reason of "heard it was great and want to find out for myself" and Mortal Kombat so I could finally settle a score. I now own both the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis ports of Mortal Kombat and can confirm first-hand that, while the Genesis port looks terrible and has missing sound effects (at least in the pre-revision copies) compared to the SNES version, the game PLAYS better due to a lack of input lag (well... no more input lag than the arcade original had anyway). This was the same problem I had with MKII's SNES port and why, out of the two, I usually go with the Genesis for MK fun. Not that it matters in 2017, mind you. The original arcade game has been ported uncompromised to so many consoles by this point. Nice to finally rip heads off with Sub-Zero again, though. :yeah:

Children of Mana and Combat Cars were gambles since I had little knowledge about either game but both paid off. Combat Cars especially seeing as it was developed by those shiny beacons of gaming that gave us the Bubsy series. It seems that a lot of longtime Mana fans don't like CoM because it's a dungeon crawler instead of a full-fledged action-RPG ŕ la Secret of Mana. Luckily, I only owned one Mana game before this one and happen to love dungeon crawlers (especially ones with randomly generated dungeons) so I can go into this one optimistically.

As for Gyromite, well... oh I'll just admit it! I got the game hoping a famicom converter would be inside of it. For the record, there wasn't one. I think the purple R.O.B. on the front needs to be darker before the cartridge even has a chance to have a famicom converter inside. Luckily, the game itself is actually pretty fun. Took me a while to get used to using both controllers at the same time and I didn't care for the areas forcing you to kill yourself if you went to them before collecting some of the other bombs but I did play it for a long period of time on what was supposed to be a short test. I can only imagine that it would be better having a second player around... and I don't mean R.O.B. <_<

Some recent pickups.

I didn't want to buy another N3DSXL so soon, so I compromised and ordered a replacement Samus Edition bottom plate from Nintendo. It doesn't look terrible.

Well it's only one item but it's an entire system and one that I'm glad to have back in my possession.

Like a lot of the users here, I was around when Pokémania hit hard in the 90s. The top trend in the playground was Pokémon. If you didn't wear a Pokémon book bag to school, you weren't cool. If you had the Burger King toys, you would act out "real-life" battles with that one kid who always won because he said so. Completely ridiculous looking backing on it but that's how it was.

Of course, the main thing was the games. My brother and I would watch as the other kids traded and battled with each other. When that was over, all of the kids would gather around as they played through the main story. All of this made us beg and plead to our parents to get the games for us on our respective birthdays. Since we didn't own a Game Boy ourselves, we also asked for Game Boy Colors to go with them. When my birthday came around, I got my wish... for the most part. I didn't get the colors I wanted for both the system (due to Kiwi being out of stock) and the game (due to a Green Version not existing here in the United States) but a Dandelion GBC w/ Pokémon Red was good enough! I was happy and, when I showed my friends what I got for my birthday, they were quick to try to battle the fresh meat of the group (even though I hadn't reached a point in the game where I could yet). A month would pass and my brother would get his Atomic Purple GBC along with Pokémon so now he got into the action with me guiding him through the story bits I got past. I was the first of the group to find out how to get multiple Mewtwo thanks to the old man glitch and would trade the duplicates to the others. It was a magical time that was only ended when I foolishly put my system under running water after spitting Robitussin all over it (seriously, that medicine should NOT be served to children...).

Cut to two days ago. I just lost out on two PSPs priced at $20 (though, honestly, I only planned to buy one of 'em). After searching the other nearby pawn shops and thrift stores with nothing to show for it, I went to my final stop before I had to go to work. It was the same small time pawn shop that I found all of those N64 games for $1-2 about two years ago if anyone remembers that post. Well this time I find, sitting in a large glass case, this beautiful Teal Game Boy Color face-down with the price tag right on it's battery cover. I asked for someone to open the case and let me look it over. Some scuffs for sure and I couldn't test it out right then and there but it was still in great shape and the buttons and dials at least felt like they functioned properly. Decided to take a chance and buy it and thank God because this GBC works flawlessly! Responsive buttons. Undamaged speaker. Perfectly fine screen. No trouble reading the games (save for the ones that give me trouble with the GBAs I own). The works, really. It may not be the color I grew up with and I don't like the first gen of Pokémon like I used to (save for their gen 3 remakes) but you can bet I played my copy of Pokémon Blue on that GBC with a lamp hovering over it as soon as I got home. Taking my over-powered Venusaur to destroy weak wild Pokémon over and over again. It was truly a blast from the past. After that, I tried all of my other games out (including... Mortal Kombat 4 *gags*) before finally taking the batteries put so they don't corrode in there like they did my GBA. I'm not sure if this handheld will get too much play time in the years to come thanks to already owning a GBA SP but being able to hold one of these once again was definitely something else. Now I just need a worm light.

Hey everyone, long time no see!
I found a game and card shop near me that sells gaming stuff at pricecharting prices which is so rare in this day and age! So I made some pickups!
Beast Wars was $35 and I was so surprised they even had it!
Jet Force was $5
and F-Zero and MK4 were $12 each!

So I celebrated my birthday last weekend. I got two really awesome gifts. First up the Japan only orange Gameboy Player for the Gamecube, complete in box. I got it from my parents. It is an item I wanted for a while, to match with my Spice Orange gamecube. The item iteself actually game from a fellow member here, Vinyl.
As gift from my girlfriend I got the Mario Kart track. Again something I wanted for a really long time, but they are just crazy expensive, both new and used (with box). She picked out the coolest track out there and just bought it for me. She's a true treasure to have in my life. Her birthday is in a few weeks, so I might have to step up my game a bit haha
(and lastly I got some cash money that I'll spent on the boxed download codes for Pokemon Gold and silver, and maybe a discounted WiiU game for the set).

They did give me a budget to work with and get me my own gift. It's kinda cheating, but they have no clue what to give me anyways.
My girlfriend however, does know all to well what the collection needs :D

Some nice additions there Kamikaze!

I bought a few NTSC 64 games in mint condition off a local seller the other day:

-DK64 with all paperwork, expansion pak and tool (for the yellow cart)
-The Powerpuff Girls (just because it's another NA exclusive and it is sealed and was cheap)
-Dr Mario 64
-Cruis'n Exotica

All immaculate condition. I need to sort out Imagr or something on my phone so I can post pictures. Some great additions though and looking forward to having a blast on some of them.

I can't complain with this weeks finds. Satirday was just "meh". Sunday was awesome!

Picked up Mashed (xbox) and Amazing Virtual Sea-Monkeys (PS1) on Saturday because they seem kinda fun and odd. Never seen either of them. Both PS1 Disney games I picked up because I am on somewhat of a Disney-rush lately.
The NES bundle came with all cords and controllers. Got this from a reseller. It's a very clean console with some nice games (Pugsley Scavanger Hunt!). The PS1 one games on the right came from another reseller. There was also a CIB Platinun Crash Bash. Sadly CTR is missing the front cover. Also picked up a GBC Little Mermaid Pinball (as said, Disney rush..) and another PS2 retail demo. Again, nothing to be found about those...
