Couldn't agree more! I did miss the rumble when playing with the wavebird so I'd swap between it and the wired controller I own, depending on the game I was playing. Some games really need rumble... Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life for example; without the rumble fishing is impossible (as the rumble lets you know when a fish is biting). But sometimes it is nice to go wireless. You got the wrong idea about me and 2D games; I do like them. I think I posted a while ago that I found some of them harder to replay and since then everyone seems to think I hate them. Of course, selling my SNES might also have played a role in that... The NES was something that I'd been considering for a while. I don't have much gaming experience with the NES, so there's a lot of games out there that I haven't played. And my recent clear out has given me more space to safely store games and consoles (in the past storage has been a bit of a problem and my games collection increased in size considerably in the past five years). Anyway, I seen this nice boxed one and the price was right, so now I can relive the classics and explore the games I didn't get a chance to play. Buying a console makes more sense financially as well; Virtual Console games aren't cheap but original cartridges often are.But the bottom line is that emulation just doesn't satisfy the collector in me, regardless of how it's done. I prefer to see games in their original form (and on the original console) but more than that... I want something physical when I pay money for a game. I want a cart or a CD or DVD. Having a hard drive full of games doesn't feel like ownership. I'm not saying I'll never buy another download game but when I can I will always, always, always... buy a disc or cart instead. Even if it costs more. So... I may end up buying another SNES as well. But one that isn't yellowed this time.

Nice. They do have really good bargains sometimes... and most of their N64 games are between 50p and £1.99!

New:![]() Yeah, finally a clear (Grape) N64 controller! It's unused, but unfortunately without the original packaging.Note: I use the wii keyboard on my PC only, since i don't own a Wii. It's nice to have a small notebook-like wireless keyboard on your desk! *Waiting together with alxbly for a black PAL Wii* Edited by Sapper, Jul 7 2009, 02:44 PM.

Just got an orange spice gamecube controller and a black one on ebay for $20. (most of the orange ones themselves are selling for at least $18) I'd love to get one of those white ones but they are like $30, and I don't want to spend that much. :richman: Edited by Chaos66, Jul 15 2009, 07:10 PM.

That's an excellent find! Tooie is difficult to find for a reasonable price, so you done really well to pay so little for it. ![]() I got this stuff: ![]() Star Ocean (360) - This was on sale, although i later found out I could have got it much cheaper online. Not to worry. The first few cut-scenes feel weird; there's a lot going on but no music to accompany it. Almost like they ran out of money and thought "screw it, we don't need a soundtrack". So far, so meh. Stranglehold (360) - Surprisingly good, cinematic shooter. Much use of bullet time. Resident Evil Archives (Wii) - What a rip. I should have done a bit of research on this game first but, in case anyone else doesn't know, this is just a repackaged REmake for Gamecube... without any additions at all! No widescreen support is the biggest sting in tail, and it means there are black borders down each side of the TV. Pretty lame that no widescreen option is included. Speed Racer (Wii) - Not tried it yet, but most people seem to say it's pretty good. F.E.A.R. 2 (PS3) - The demo was pretty cool (I've not tried the actual game yet, lol), I especially liked the ghosts. Looking forward to playing this. GTA III (PS2) - I spotted this for sale for £3 in a charity shop, the disc, box and manual are all mint. I already own the Xbox version but this is one of the best games of the last console generation, so I might take this opportunity to play through it again on PS2. Shadow Man: 2econd Coming (PS2) - Lame title, but the gameplay seems to have a lot in common with its really excellent predecessor. Mike LeRoi and Shadow Man both look quite different but the moves and the voice actor is the same. The redesigned characters look nothing like the first game; Shadow Man is now some kind of zombie/skeleton hybrid, and Mike has been beefed up and made more "gansta". Nettie has also changed, she's younger (quite hot, lol), and she has a different accent. Jaunty is also in this one. I've only played it for about an hour but it seems okay so far. ![]() Double Dragon 3: The Arcade Game (Game Boy) - Seen this for sale in a charity shop for £3. The only one I can find for sale on eBay is a Buy-It-Now listing for £42.99. So I went back and bought this. Not played it yet though... |

![]() ![]() ![]() Went on holiday to Poland, came back with this. Each of those games cost me the equivalent of 5 euros (with the exception of Bioshock, which cost 30 euros). Each of those games, except the Fallout Saga (Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics) is in its original English. (luckily I speak Polish natively, so I can play the Fallout games - I just hope the translation is good). I'm starting to think Poland is PC gaming heaven (other PC games are also much cheaper than in Western Europe, and older games stay on shelves much longer due to every publisher having its own 'Classics' range). I saw Planescape Torment, the Baldur's Gate series, the Fallout series and all those LucasArts adventures next to each other, for 20 PLN (=5 euros) each. New games were usually between 60 and 120 PLN (15-30 euros); they drop in price very quickly to around 40-50 PLN (10-12 euros), and then, after some more time, to 20 PLN. Amazing. |

I recently bought at a second-hand shop: Street Fighter Alpha 2 (SNES) cartridge only Maybe not the best conversion of that game, but it's still a good game and I got it for only 9 euros. That's a good deal compared to what this sells for at ebay. Re-Volt (PS1) Already have that game for PC. It's a nice racing game, and the PS1-version is nice too. I also bought a Super Pad 64 Plus at ebay recently and received it today. It feels a bit odd in your hands, but after getting used to it it's ok with the games I tested. The only game I had real problems with was "Star Wars - Shadows of the Empire". It's usually decent to control (with the official controller). But it was difficult to navigate Dash Rendar with the Super Pad, even after getting used to the controller. Overall, I still prefer the official controller, but the Super Pad is a nice alternative. Not been buying as many games recently. Here's what I got in the past fortnight:![]() Electroplankton is good fun... for a short while, anyway. I've not played any of the PS2 games I've bought yet, but I'll post impressions when I have. The PSone memory cards were only a £1 each, and since they're such nice colors... Mario Kart 64 is the US version, got that pretty cheap on eBay. And today I got the Lodgenet N64 controller and also Batman Arkham Asylum for PS3. Batman seems really good so far.
