I liked the original Pokemon GB games a lot (as you can see in my favorite games of all time post) but I sold them a number of years ago. Replaying Pokemon Red made me remember just how much I enjoyed them and, since I was having a lot of fun with Red, I decided to buy the remake to see how it compares with the original. It's certainly just as good, maybe even better than the original due to the improved graphics and sound, and the extras that have been added to the gameplay. |

Local pawn shop was selling Far Cry Instincts Evolution for Xbox for only £6.99. Good deal. Sold.

Nice purchase alxbly, but -5000 points for buying True Crime: Streets of LA.
Nah just kidding, I guess it is an OK game in its own right. But I simply consider it just another poor quality "free-roaming concept milker".
I wouldn't say they're all the same, in fact many of them have significant differences. I agree that Nintendo are simply cashing in on the franchise by releasing more than one game of the same chapter with only slight differences (e.g. Pokemon Gold/Pokemon Silver). But considering the games are cash-ins, they would have to be the most flawless and enjoyable franchise cash-ins I've ever played. |

I completely agree, data, but it cost less than £2 brand new so I thought i'd give it a try. I've never played a sandbox game that comes close to GTA's level of depth. I'd heard this was a decent title and, to be fair, it doesn't do anything REALLY badly. It's just that GTA has far more detail, depth, humour, vehicles, weapons, the GTA world is far more believable and it's much more interesting. I liken this game to an episode of the Scooby Doo cartoon. You know when they're running and they go past the same things over and over again: plant, clock, statue, plant, clock, statue, plant, clock, statue... Well, driving in this game is exactly the same... streets blend into one another becuase they use EXACTLY the same house an infinite number of times. It's not nearly as exciting as it could be.

I just bought Twilight Princess along with the Wii Version Player's Guide. It's very thick, and f-ing awesome. It's the type of strategy guide you'd want for your games. Prima does make some nice ones. |

Absolutely, Prima make some superb strategy guides and usually turn the chosen game upside down and inside out to provide as much detail as possible in their guides. However, just make sure you don't use the strategy guide at all times while playing Twilight Princess, because you'll undoubtedly spoil the game. |

I just bought Spiderman 2 (PS2) for $20 AUD at EB Games. Apparently it's an excellent game so I'm looking forward to trying it out. |

Wii version. I'm almost 9 hours through (I did get stuck on trying to catch a fish for almost an hour...) and just entered the second dungeon. This game looks like it'll be giant. I also really like the graphical style, especially in the twilight. I found the one dungeon I've done, and the stuff after and before it really great. The Wii controls work well too. Looks like it might replace Wind Waker as my favourite game :). |

I really like the graphic style too. Very fun. And fishing was annoying me, because didn't realize you simply held it up straight after jerking it up to get the fish on the hook. Yeah, I think the controls work very well. Easy to aim with *minor spoiler* bow/slingshot/boomerang *spoiler ended* |

^ I got Guitar Hero for xmas but I've not played much of it yet, though. I'm guessing the Freebird guitar solo isn't easy.

Got two games for Xmas: Yoshi's Island DS and The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures. I got up to World 4 in YIDS - looks pretty good up to now. Haven't played FSA much as I'm still busy with Twilight Princess :). |

I got a few games today. A pawn shop was selling: Die Hard Vendetta (GCN) £4 Judge Dredd: Dredd Vs Death (GCN) £4 Star Trek: Encounters (PS2) £4 So I bought them. I've owned Vendetta before, it's decent but a bit glitchy. Still looking forward to playing it again, though. Judge Dredd is meant to be basic but good fun (i've not played it yet, so I'll let you know what i think when I do). Star Trek Encounters is really for Mrs Alxbly, who loved the Star Trek Voyager series... so maybe she'll like the game.... maybe. There's a few Xbox games that I'll never get around to playing, so I traded them in a local videogames store. The games I traded were: Flatout Battlefield 2: Modern Combat Pariah Rainbow Six Lockdown Mortal Kombat Deception Mercenaries Dead or Alive Ultimate Brothers In Arms: Road to Hill 30 And in return I got Excite Truck for Wii! |

i am seriously considering picking up a couple of old 64 games i saw for sale in a bin at my local video store. they had rush 2049 for $5, and 1090 for $7. i actually owned 1080, and regret trading it. may nab them up in a couple weeks. they also had duke nukem and turok 2 real cheap. might want those if they are still there. |

Rush 2049 is awesome if you can take advantage of the multiplayer mode. Duke Nukem is pretty sweet too. The Dukematch ain't so great, but if you know someone you can play co-op with, it makes the 1-player mode a lot better. |
