VGA atm is a rip off to me. Appraising games is too new. You pretty much never can sell at the appraised quote you get.

Its bad enough with trading cards, coins and comics. Grading games atm is still kind of a joke.

Normally when you factor in all the costs by the time you go to sell you'd just be breaking even.
for low item price. yes its useless, but for hot ticket items that will remain highly collectables, its a damn good way to secure your investment. a Zelda 3ds WILL always be a hot ticket item, whatever the time period will be. it usally cost 57$ for a game to graded for a 3-4 weeks delay, of course a console will be more than that. but its gonna worth every penny in this particular situation. you could also only ask and pay for a custom acrylic case instead of grading it.

see 1st post how goergous it would look like.

you should send it to VGA instead of all these bubble wrap. it would look clean as hell in a custom acrilyc box. ! no dust, no damage ever, plus it could be the masterpiece of your game room !

Before I bought my Zelda 3DS, I had already made the decision that I would keep it sealed.

I am disgusted with the way either GameStop or the shipping company handled the package. They brought out 3 of them for me to choose from and they were all damaged. 2 of them had crushed corners and the other had a huge crease in it.

VGA would be a good idea, but in this condition, they would probaby give it a 60, which would actually hurt the value. So I will probably do the same as MKII.

How much is the VGA process total? I've never priced it.

Wasn't even aware of the existence of a Limited Edition RE4 on PS2 until I found this one on eBay. It has the game, a making of DVD, a numbered laser cel of Ada Wong and a BradyGames Resident Evil Prologue booklet. It has a nice steelbox case as well. I was worried about picking it up because the seller had a feedback score of 1 but here it is and it is really nice.

Oh I'm jealous, they have this exact set for the GameCube but unfortunately the prices are ridiculously high, even for beat up copies. I want one of those very badly! Hands down RE4 is the best Zombie game ever made, and there's not even technically zombies in it, lol. The atmosphere and pacing is some of the best I've ever seen, so much effort and dedication, rare for Capcom in recent times. I thought Dead Rising and Left for Dead were great, however now I view them as mediocre compared to this. The style is unlike any other Resident Evil game as well. I've played a couple of versions and the best is probably the Wii HD remake with the original GameCube release following behind. The newer consoles don't do the game justice with their controller schemes, and the PS2 environments are fuzzier in my opinion. I could talk about this game for hours, it's so damn interesting to play.

Resident Evil 5 was a step back in the wrong direction, hopefully Capcom learned from it and will strive to make 6 less overly-epic action packed. With 5 they took the horror out of Resident Evil! What the heck?! Frankly I was scared out of my mind in 4, they better bring that steady/realistic style back in 6, it really adds to the emotional intensity.

Just recently got Ninja Gaiden Shadow (I can actually get far in this one!!! :D ) and Chameleon Twist 2. I also downloaded Shantae: Risky's Revenge (It's soooooooo good, I wish the original was affordable ;_; ) and Mega Man Dr. Wily's revenge. I snagged a gutsman keychain too. http://geek-news.mtv.com/2011/04/14/8-bit-mega-man-keychains-available-for-preorder/

this is sooooo annoying! I took great care yesterday to search out the least damaged box in the store.
I mentioned to the salesperson why i bothered (im a collector bla bla bla) and he said: "wait, i've got a brand new sealed box in the back".
One problem is that these boxes are wrapped together in some sort of hard plastic tape that is so tight that it cuts / crushes into the cardboard
Also, most stores here in Holland open the boxes, take out everything and then put the empty boxes on the shelves.
This makes it pretty hard of course to find factory sealed boxes at any rate (unless you pre-order)

Anyway, rather slim pickings today at the fleamarket... low quantity but high quality!

I don't think I did too bad for $25. I had owned and beaten it before on the PS2 a few years back with a regular copy and I enjoyed the game. I'm still a bigger fan of the first couple games on the PS1 and even have a special place in my heart for Code Veronica. 4 was a big change and I didn't take to it like the original games but I still love them all. I've never played RE5 and the comments I hear about it make me wonder if it is worth it for any other reason than to say I have and for storyline sake.

I forgot to mention I purchased and downloaded I Am Alive from XBL the other night and sampled it briefly last night. I like the way it looks so far.

I was REALLY late to the Resident Evil franchise, and RE5 was the first I have ever played through. Actually it's still the only one I've played through. I loved it.

I really don't like the controls of the REs before 4. I just can't get into it. I've literally played Code Veronica for 5 minutes and shut it off.

I still like collecting them all and enjoy watching my girlfriend play them.

Same Iv been playing since the directors cut version which is my favorite of the series. After part 3 every sequel went downhill IMO.

The best to me is directors cut and 2. I own them all on PS1-PS3.

Agreed. 2 is my favorite but all of the PS1 Resident Evils are my faves because I played them all when they were the "it" game series.

After part 3 every sequel went downhill IMO.
In my opinion it dropped off after 2, plus the style of the franchise has changed dramatically. But I think this was for the best, I became bored with the series playing through Nemesis. The first definitive shift was in Resident Evil 4 where they were trying to build a faster pace while maintaining a sense of fear and paranoia. They succeeded but the survival aspect was cut down heavily. Then resident evil 5 came out it was like they mashed RE4 with Gears of War. I didn't enjoy it too much, felt generic and way over the top, not what I feel should be included in a "zombie-based" franchise.

To me Resident Evil 4 is in its own niche, the feel is separate from the whole rest of the series. Hopefully Leon retains some of that steady pacing carrying over into 6.

I loved playing through RE5, but maybe it just shouldn't have been an RE game.

If anything, it was definitely too bright for RE.

The Red Shadow,

When did you start collecting?
Collecting games? That is hard to say. Seeing as how I'm pretty anal about my games and the condition they are in, then from the beginning of my serious gaming obsession which would be around '91 or '92 with the SNES and Genesis. Unfortunately, I allowed myself to part ways with some of my games over the years and only started to reacquire important games from my past over the last 5 years or so. And it has become a full-fledged hobby over the last year and a half that I've been single again.

Ohhhhhhhh. "Single", that explains it.

You post a LOT of games that you recently have aquired. Not having a significant other, means you can buy all the toys you want.

Our hobby is much cheaper than women. Plus they never talk back to you. They make you just as happy, but the sad truth is: video games, just like women, will sometimes cheat.

Well, it does help my hobby to run unchecked by a significant other, but, I kind of need to discipline myself and it really was easier when my ex-wife was looking over my shoulder. I spend too much, but, on the positive side, I've nearly picked up all the must-haves I wanted.

Plus, for all their annoying habits and incessant nagging, I'd rather have a good woman in my life than be alone. Especially if they shared my love of gaming, movies, computers, etc. :yeah:

The only problem I have with that is that my girlfriend has trouble playing games where you have to use two analog sticks. She can work anything from the N64/PSX gen and earlier, but it's almost painful watching her struggle with something all of us don't even think about doing: left stick goes up, right stick goes to the side. I don't know how to explain the concept of controlling both sticks at once without coming off rude or something. Like, she'll interpret it as me rubbing it in her face about how easily I can do it, but I always tell her that I make it look easy only because I've been doing it for almost twenty years. Telling her about how much I sucked when I first started doesn't help either. Basically, if you're a guy in my situation, you just need to have a lot of patience. Also, buying her a copy of the game helps tremendously. I bought her an N64 and seven games, and she'll practice everything until she's pro. But if she plays it in front of me beforehand, it lowers her self-esteem and all that. So it's all about patience, and letting her try things out for herself. That's really the only con about being with a girl who plays games but doesn't really know how to use the controller :/

I have been finding some great deals on boxed Japanese N64 games and have been boosting my collection. I have used to be a big fan of Pal but now I have started to move my collection to NTSC. My AV Reciever seems a bit off with 50htz and It gets rid of them nasty boarders. I removed to tabs from my Japanese 64 and now feel the need to get all the games I want, a personal collection and not complete. So a mix of US and Japanese carts. However Japanese box arts are so sexy I can't resist them.
The last 2 months I bought on Ebay

-Complete Mario 64 (Rumble)
-Complete Fire Electric Pen
-Complete Custom Robo
-Complete DKR :n64: I planed on getting a US cart but couldn't help myself and the box art is to die for

I just bought 5 mins ago complete DEZAEMON 3D & Densha De Go 64 + Controller.

All the above excluding P&P came to less then £90.00
I will get some crappy pictures from my web cam later.
But get out and have look its a good time to buy. I need a new camara but can't stop spening money on child hood dreams :gift:

Ever tried co op games? My girlfriend couldn't grasp the controller either but we played through each Left 4 Dead 2 campaign on easy co op countless numbers of times, then as she got more confident I turned the difficulty up etc.

Even though I haven't played console games for a while and now I'm forgetting how to use a controller!

I have to agree with you, i just cant get enough of the NTSC-J box art, i have not tried to collect a CIB games collection in PAL or NTSC-US but the Japanese games are different, i just love them :yeah:

What controller did you get with your copy of Densha De Go 64, mine came with a mic the same as the one for Hey You, Pikachu, but i have seen some that come with a special controller to control the train, i so want one LOL.

i HATE 2 analog joystick. that's why i dont play 1st/3rd person shooter games at all. it just doesnt work. whether im too used to a keyboard/mouse combo or the goldeneye control (C-button to go forward) which were flawless.

my wife also stuggle on every games we play, EXCEPT on every singing games. she beat the hell out of me. so when we play GH or RB, she always sing and i always do guitar or bass and we're having some insane fun together. when we wether play Tetris or Dr Mario (on Wii) we rarely play more than 5 games cuz she get pissed off real fast by the insane amount of pills i throw at her, haha.

Two pawnshop purchases today: Zelda - Phantom Hourglass (NDS) and SSX Blur (Wii), both CIB and in very good nick.
The latter was one of the first Wii games i ever bought but i foolishly borrowed it out to a woman i was dating at the time.
Long story short: she suddenly stopped seeing me and i never saw the game again.

Also received a shipment from the Nintendo Repair Hut with six GC-style thumbsticks, six 72 pin connectors for the NES and five new third-party N64 controller paks (only 1$ each!). AFAIK they have the lowest prices on the Net for these essential repair supplies and they offer excellent service.
