Just got a huge haul today. All 4 boxed controllers are "Like New". I'm really happy with the condition on these. The Beast Wars box didn't come with a manual so I'm looking for one now. I have an extra Red Controller box if anyone is interested.

nice haul, comicbookguy!

Here''s my latest arrival... got it on eBay for quite a reasonable price (these things aint cheap!).
NOTE: the lines that are visible in these scans are due to my scanner, this game is really in very excellent condition except for the scuffing on the front beneath Luigi

Another postie, another package! The auction ended on April 2, it shipped from the US to my doorstep in just four days!
And the best part: even though it was clearly marked as commercial merchandise worth 70$ i didnt have to pay any import duties, saving at least 20 euro :yeah:
Now i know why it''s called Good Friday :)

yeah, i agree.. those G&W games are great and they bring back a lot of memories for me even tho i never owned one myself when they were "current-gen"

I remember that back in those early eighties some of my co-workers bought loads of these, like a new one every week (we made a lot of cash money).
Mind you, they were quite expensive at that time... i seem to remember the better (Nintendo) games were around 100 to 150 guilders and that was a lot of money in those days.

MK--i think maybe your cool signature designs need to be tweaked to include a G&W count. Very impressive!

How much was a guilder?

0.50 euro. But prices and wages were much lower back then.
I made 150 for a 10 hour workday but that was really exceptional, a typical wage would have been 5 or 6 Guilders per hour.

you know, thats exactly what i thought today!
I'll get right to it...

Job done! And I''ve made a special G&W themed design for the occasion. You may have to refresh your browser (F5) to see it...
BTW: this counter only counts Nintendo LCD games, ive got loads of copycat games from other manufacturers too.
Like this in-aptly named game from Cresta... methinks the name was probably coined in the Far East and not by a native English speaker :)

After some weeks of absence i managed to drag myself to the fleamarket this morning but there was not a lot going on at first sight. Then I was approached by one of the regular sellers... "ive been looking for you last week. Ive got a box full of those games you are always buying". And he wasnt kidding, he had a banana box filled to the brim with SNES, NES, N64 and Megadrive games. A quick glance: lots of sports titles, lots of duplicates and stickers but also some tatty boxes, probably 50 or 60 games in all. Nothing extraordinary or really valuable.

Just got home, a quick count revealed that here are at least 80 games here with some interesting NTSC SNES carts.
All in all one of the better bulk deals ive ever made!

Nice haul there MK. I've also got one of those Mario Bros Game & Watch hand helds. It was my older brothers when he was younger and I've managed to hold onto it for this long. Sadly it's missing the metal front cover.

My recent stuff:

G.A.S.P Fighters - N64 CIB (upgraded from cart only)
WWF Attitude - N64 CIB (upgraded from cart only)
Glover - N64 CIB (upgraded from cart only)
Forsaken - N64 CIB (upgraded from cart only)

x6 bare N64 consoles for the lovely sum of £2.19 for the lot. Works out about 35 pence each, and they also all work :D

Also picked up a brand new Official Zelda Skyward Sword strategy guide for £5 (from Gamestation) and a sealed copy of Zelda Spirit Tracks for £11

@clarky: Nice, I've been meaning to try Spirit Tracks but people either love it or hate it so who knows if I'll even like it, aha.

Went to a flea market this morning and there was NO gaming stuff. Like one XBox and some random Atari games. Surprising since it was pretty big. Did find some books that I was looking for though, so it was worth going anyways. (:

I also picked up a Gamecube, 2 controllers, memory card, and Simpsons Hit & Run (complete) for $18 though while I was out, so at least I got something! I've been looking for the game for a while, and I needed a black controller for my boxed Gamecube, so it was very convenient.

Another day, yet another fleamarket...

Anecdote of the day: i spotted a pair of big Mario figures in green and red outfit but just as i wanted to reach out and pick 'm up, somebody else took the red Mario (and a nice Assasin's Creed figure) and bought them altho at first the seller was reluctant to split the pair. Argggh, so frustrating!!! All i could do was buy the remaining green Mario... what a pity!
Then i noticed this seller also had a "official" Super Mario 3D Land promotional console pouch which i quickly snatched for just 1 euro.

UPDATE: the DS game Pac 'n' Roll (released in 2004) which i bought for just 2.50 euro surprisingly came with an unused PIN code, still valid(!) for 200 Club Nintendo points... sweet!!! :yeah:

SNES Stargate
N64 Power Rangers Light Speed Rescue
DS Rayman DS (CIB), Pac 'n' Roll (CIB)
Gamecube Catwoman, Def Jam Vendetta, Rayman 3 (all CIB)
+ Super Mario 3D Land pouch, Super Mario Bros. 3 licensed carry bag, green Mario figurine.

To be honest i think he is meant to represent the 'old-style' Luigi who was 100% identical to his brother except for the colour of his clothes.
The manufacturer probably made a cost-saving decision and simply gave the Mario figure a green paintjob and ignored the large letter 'M' on his cap :)

You are more than welcome! Can i suggest a date?

Every year on April 30th (just a couple more weeks from now!) we celebrate Queen's Day here in Holland.
On that day, half the population clears their attic or basement, puts it all out on the sidewalk and tries to sell their trash to the other half.
The whole country (well, the urban areas) turns into one giant garage sale.
Needless to say this day is the highpoint of my year because it never fails to deliver a plethora of goodies at truly rock-bottom prices.

Here''s a little taste from previous years...

OMG! Sorry to report President's Day here (USA) is not similarly celebrated! Well, I hope you will be so kind as to allow us to experience QD vicariously by posting a pic of this year's haul or a cell phone pic or two of the street scene. Must be quite a sight.

i certainly will picture the haul, ive got pix going back to 2000 when i first started to collect gamestuff on this day.
Every year me & my friend Martin combine forces... we usually borrow or rent a car so we can get around the different towns and easily schlepp all that junk home.
We start at 6.30 in the morning because the early bird does catch almost all the worms in this game.

it is really amazing, like one big street party in every town centre. plenty of food & drinks on offer as well, live music everywhere you go.

Best to avoid the big cities on that day though, places like Amsterdam and Utrecht are always terribly overcrowded to the point of total gridlock of people in the streets.
And if you cant make the miles, you won't find much.

Some of last year's highlights: mint-ish Clear/Blue N64 console & controller in box with five boxed games (Zelda, DK64, SM64 etc) for 5 euro.
Gameboy in big Gameboy-shaped carry case with something like 10 boxed games, incl. Megaman 3 and other goodies for a tenner.
Boxed Super Nintendo in perfect shape for 7,50 euro

well, traditions have to be started you know.

Originally, the "huge garage sale" was held in only one neighbourhood in central Amsterdam.
But during the 1980's it slowly stated to spread throughout the country and now it is everywhere and an integral part of the traditional festivities.
Probably because it is so much fun for everyone involved

I wish we had that here in the States.
In my experience, people outside of America tend to take better care of their stuff.

I have gotten MANY older games from different parts of the world, and they have been almost MINT, where I have gotten curent gen games and consoles, locally, and they look like they were dragged behind their car, throught the mud, on their way home from the store.

I know this isn't always the case, but I don't see us ever having a great sale like the one MKII is talking about, without having multiple deaths, because the GREED would be through the roof.
